Morgan Hill Golf Course
About
The Morgan Hill Golf Course in Easton has a somewhat misleading name since you'll find more than just hills on this challenging course. Be prepared to face a variety of elevation changes ranging from subtle to dramatic. The golf course has a dramatic design that is carved into a hillside, which makes it a hard course to walk but one that is visually interesting and tough to play. It may not be a layout for the faint of heart but the scenery alone is enough to provide enjoyment. Golfers can enjoy scenic views of the river, but scenic respite is the only break you'll get. There is hardly an even lie to be found and the severely undulating greens will test even the most seasoned golfers. Also, be prepared for a slew of blind shots at Morgan Hill Golf Course.

Golfer Reviews
Course has a lot of character, and blind shots
Course was in gd shape, always is, bad part is that it was raining, cold and windy the day we played. Play it on a nice day, you won't be disappointed.
Beautiful course, slow play
I love, the beauty of this course. The course was in good shape and the greens were excellent for early May. But the course has always been difficult, especially the back, and is now unplayable for many, including the two foursomes of high handicappers ahead of us, All you need to know about pace of play is encapsulated in the sign on the 12th tee that you should be there in 3 hours and two minutes. What?? They need to make this beauty a lot more player friendly. We left after 4 hours and 15 minutes as we became the third group on the 17th tee.
Perfect Drives = Terrible Lies
The fairways and greens were manicured very nicely. Couldn't get over the Blind tee-shots, side hill, down hill fairways.
Very disappointing to say the least.
If you like scenery with difficult conditions and unfair lies, this is your course.
You won't see me there ever again.
Bring your A game
Morgan Hill is a fairly tough track in excellent shape. Lots of elevation changes, wind and blind shots make club selection a real challenge. The greens rolled great but many are large with significant swales. Land in the wrong spot and it's 3 putt city. A must play if you're in the area. We had a 4.5 hour round but it was a Saturday and knuckleheads ahead playing the wrong tees.
Course conditions vs price
I sure the course can justifies it's per round fee. It was my first time and one of the only courses open this early in the year. We were allowed to play holes 1 thru 10 twice. We did get 20 holes of golf in in March which is a plus. The course was wet, cart paths only, and the greens slow. This was expected. Still, I thought it was pricey for this time of year. Without discount it was $56 a round in March..
My playing partners had played there in the past. They quit going because its too pricey. We paid $46.50 each on a discount deal from golf now. That was almost twice the other hot deals offered for that day at other course in a 40 mile radius.I have to agree with the guys that there are much better values in the area. Unfortunately they were few available at this time of year and those available were all taken by the time I booked.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The bartender opened a half hour early for beverages. She was excited with the process of adding an addition to the pro shop downstairs Which will provide a seating area outdoors upstairs for this golf season.
I would like to play again when the entire course is open. I would search for a discounted voucher. The sixty to seventy dollar greens fee is too much for my pocket for a weekly player.
Great course
This is one of my favorite courses. Not only is it an interesting golf course but the food and drinks are delicious after. Staff is very friendly and extremely accommodating.
Great Course Golf in Feb.
We had a great time playing this course. Lots of risk reward options. Challenging and fun. The staff was limited( It's February) but extremely friendly and helpful. Can't wait to play here in the spring or summer,As cart GPS would be very helpful for yardages. Overall a Great experience.
Tough Course
I received a great price from Golf Now.
I am an 11 handicap and I enjoy this course. You must work hard at Morgan Hill to get par's and birdies. The placement of the your Tee shot is critical and sets up the next shot. Bad tee shots result into as high score.
I found the fairways are hilly. Flat shots come at a premium. The greens are large and challenging but fair. I am a senior golfer but still play decently.
Enjoy this course. Challenging. Bring your "A" game.
Gimmicky course with slow greens
The course has great views and vistas. However, I played with a friend and we both found that it often didn't matter if you hit a great drive or a an average drive- the ball often ended up in the same collection area. Most holes do not allow for you to have an even lie on your approach shots and this got annoying after a while. I guess the course is fun to play once in a while to watch as the ball bounces off of mounds into collection areas, but would hate to play here all of the time. Most of the tee boxes were closed for the winter I am guessing and the greens were terribly slow and bumpy.
This course is a challenge
I've been playing this course for the last few years and surprised not may play it. I know it is very demanding for the average golfer, but very satisfying to the advanced golfer. Shot makers course.
Go elsewhere
I decided after playing this course about a month ago to give it another try. HORRIBLE MISTAKE ON MY PART. Booked a hot deal on golfnow, which are paid in full at the time of reservation. This course had the nerve to charge us 10 dollars a player more as a "cart fee". Dispite my having my golfnow receipt saying I'm paid in full, including cart.
Now let's get to the course. Tee time was 12:50, not a cart to be found at the bag drop and told they're behind about 15 minutes. 30 minutes later we get a cart and are sent to the tee. Six hours and 11 minutes later we finish the 18th hole. This is unacceptable in any circumstance. The greens are like playing a mini golf course. The only thing missing is a windmill. Blind tee shot after blind tee shot. Six hours on course and we see the beverage cart once. The staff could've cared less about the waiting. How many Rangers did we see in a six hour round you may ask? ZERO. Not once was there anyone to encourage pace of play. We even called the clubhouse and were told "I'll see what I can do". This was a disgrace. No one who plays this course has a divot tool it would seem. PLAY ELSEWHERE YOUVE BEEN WARNED.
tough course....need to play a few times
tough layout if you don't know where to put your ball...enjoyed the day!
Not for the faint of heart
I played MH about 10 years ago when my handicap was much higher and vowed to never return, but was talked into going back by a friend and spent most of the morning trying to remember why my previous experience was so negative. Fortunately I'm a better golfer now and realized it's not the best course for a beginner, but for intermediate and advanced gofers, the challenges are unique and fair. There are lots of blind shots and undulating fairways, elevation changes, and some tough pin placements at times. So if you're tired of the traditional links courses, this is a great change of pace.
Course conditions were excellent. We started at 6:40 am with wet greens, but by 9:00, the greens rolled great. I wouldn't recommend walking this course, even if you're fit. The price for the quality and condition of the course is a tremendous value. The views are amazing and the carts come equipped with satellite GPS which is convenient and helpful. The food at the restaurant is very good and not your standard hot dogs and hamburgers menu. Drinks on the golf course are also very reasonable. Definitely a challenge because the terrain will bounce shots around, but if you like to think about crafting shots, this is a good course for you where course management plays a big role.
Will come back to Morgan Hill
We had a great time playing at Morgan Hill, even though the greens had just been aerated. The Pro offered for us to come back again at no cost after the greens have recovered. The layout of the course is fun and challenging for an average golfer, and the vistas of the mountains are wonderful. We will definitely come back many times.
Great Public Course
Challenging. Greens aren't the fastest but if they were it would be a VERY difficult course.
Give it a chance it'll grow on you
You have to play this course a couple of times to appreciate it is a great challenge of golf an the views are spectacular give it a chance Think you will enjoy it the course is in very good condition to.
