The Oaks
Prices have increased and course has made no apparent upgrades. Dirt cart paths. Old facility. Little to no grass in fairways and some greens have bare spots.
Hidden gem
With a hot shot deal and rewards my net green fee was less than $10. When I drove up I thought I had over paid. It is not a fancy place. Old building, old carts and sand cart paths. But..... the clubhouse was packed with diners and the smells were terrific. I didn't have time to eat, but I will next time! The teeboxes, fairways and greens were plush and growing! The front 9 was open and fairly easy. The back was tight with several doglegs. It was a fun course to play!
Always Enjoyable!
Greens in very good shape. Overall good conditions considering how dry it has been. Culinary pleasures and cold Bud Light pitchers always enjoyed following our round.
Greens
Other golf courses need to come here to get lessons from the greens keeper! These are some of the best greens around!
A bit too expensive
Prices at this course seem to have gone up since last winter and the course and conditions of the course don't justify an increase. Wife went to the washroom and she said it was disgustingly dirty.
Course has improved greatly.....
The Tee Boxes and Greens are in much better shape now. All have been freshly reworked and over-seeded, Greens are a bt slow and aprons a bit long, but the coures is looking much better than a few months ago. Fairways are better, but I imagine they are the nest project for fresh grass.....
Fun place to play
Enjoyable round for a good value. Very friendly staff. Great food selections and cold beer round out the experience!
Always a good time.
Fun place to play. Great staff and great selection of food and drinks after our round.
Great course
My parents have lived in the area for over 40 years and have played this course many times even when it was 9 holes in 70's. I always enjoy playing a round after an early sunrise bass session and Friday's round did not disappoint. Thanks for all you do to keep a course in Georgetown for us enjoy!
Getting better
Great staff! Always friendly. Holding together well considering recent weather in the area. Greens on the back nine have a way to go.
Interesting Day
I played on a hot deal and had a coupon and a credit, so $0 to play. There are two nines, one older and in better shape and one newer and literally cut out of the forest. Quite the adventure on the back nine. The front nine greens were good for the most part and the back nine greens were a disaster for the most part. Pretty playable layout, but fairways were poor and sandy.. Empty course and fast gas powered carts yielded VERY FAST pace of play (2 1/2 hours!). Staff was very nice. Clubhouse was run down but everything worked. Can't really recommend it, especially for a 1 hour drive one way like I had.
Always Enjoyable!
Adam, Sandy, Kevin , Ritz & MJ make The Oaks a great take every time. Course conditions continue to improve. The extensive menu with daily specials is a home run after your round. The entire package works for me!
Quiet
No golf shop
Range poor
Not busy
No Bunker's ( too wet)
Jungle back nine (lose balls easy)
Good price will go again
Fun Place ato Play
Always a good time at The Oaks. Great place to work on your game.
