Hidden gem
A hidden gem that's a short drive from Sligo Town.
Because Sligo has 2 top class courses in Enniscrone and Rosses Point, Strandhill undeservedly gets overlooked. This is an excellent course with some cracking holes.
Friendly staff and nice food in the clubhouse.
Wonderful set of links
We played two days back to back. Sunday at 1:20 and Monday at 9:10.
After 10 holes on Sunday, we walked off the course. 3 hours. Painfully slow. Pro shop was understanding and gave us a discounted round on Monday.
Monday we played 18 in 3 hours. We were first group off.
DO NOT book a weekend game if you want to play quickly.
Course was in very good condition. Tricky couple of hole where you are better laying back with a full club. The routing makes a good use of the dunes, some of the holes feel crowded.
Course is very walkable.
My wife plays off an 18 and enjoyed her day, I am playing off a 1 and had a blast.
Would definitely play again.

Green was poll forked and seed for middle of August peak season for golf which left them bumpy which I didn’t enjoy course layout was fine it was pretty slow also no ranger on course to move people a long but views was good which saved the Day it was quite windy too but else then that it was fine
Great course
Great challenge for a short course. Seaside layout was fun and challenging. Couple holes were a bit too penalizing with the wind coming into play.
Would definitely play it again!
Putting green and chipping area but no full swing practice area.
Amazing links course
Course was in immaculate condition, no temporary greens or playing of mats like most other courses this time of the year, any staff or members we met were extremely nice and friendly. One of the best deals I have got on golf now
Unbelievable
This course was in immaculate condition and had a great course layout with a real links feel. Every hole was exciting and different will definitely be back!
Excellent course, great condition. Great greens, some tasty slopes, but a Very playable links golf course. I'll be back.
Scenic challenge
Strandhill golf is an amazing golf course which will challenge your skill as a golfing enthusiast of any level. It has some excellent holes most especially the 13th, plus most of the other holes provide very interesting challenges. The course has had the benefit of having a very dedicated course staff who maintain the course to a very high level and while carrying out their work present very little or no distraction. Nature has also been of assistance to the Strandhill golf course as the aspect of the course provides some of the most scenic coastal views possibly available in all of Ireland.
Fabulous views
Loved this links course the 13th is a real tester and the 15th can easily test your patience but can't wait to go back again first time playing and it won't be my last
Excellent value
The cheapest links course around it's really excellent value both with green fees and bar food.
The greens were pure I played Lough Erne the day before and the greens weren't as pure as Strandhill.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Course offers fabulous views.
The only down fall would be a lack of chipping area maybe I didn't see it.
I'd highly recommend playing Strandhill.
A great local course. Tee it up where the locals play.
A golf course for the Irish, it’s cheap and it’s fun. The course starts on the top of a hill leading up to Knocknarea. You’ll be surrounded by chances for pics both of Knocknarea behind you and the Atlantic Ocean in front. Only a few blind shots, so you don’t have to play it twice to really get it. It’s down the hill to the water, then back up, and repeat. Some dunes, but you’ll never feel like a shot hit marginally off will be lost. The 7th runs along the beach with great views from the tees. Great value, greens aren’t perfect, but that’s what you get for the price.
