tricky pin on par 3 hole 4 Photo submitted by readski on 11/14/2017
Nice layout
It backed up real bad on the 8th hole till the end they should try to regulate that a bit slow golf is not so good
The virus
The course looks like it may have Covid 19 .
The shutdown has affected maintenance. The course is still in good playing condition but getting a little rough around the edges . It appears that they’ve let the greens get long and lush to protect them from the summer heat . I prefer slower greens so it works for me .
Continuing state of awesomeness
This course continues to be the best course in Yuma, There are nicer courses out there but not in this town, the fairways look like carpet and the greens are flat and smooth, the green speed is a little slower than normal, prolly around a 8-9. Its walking only and there are self serve pull carts sitting there by the club house door, sand trap rule is pull the ball out of the trap and place no closer to the hole and the cups are inverted so the ball just barely drops in and do not remove flag rule applies.
Great day for golf
The course was in good shape for AZ. Check in was a breeze. We started on time and were not held up playing. Had a wonderful round of golf.
Great Yuma golf
Course is in great condition after recent rains in the area. Good pace for a busy afternoon. Greens putt very true IF you get the read right !
Great course
Always enjoy playing this course. Some par 4's play like a 5, but great. Beer is a touch pricey oh well
Carts old, no windshields ,80 % missing cooler lids, could not go more than 5 mpr mph in carts, half the t boxes in bad shape, could not take cart to car, overall just old ..hear city took over and spending very little. Can't find a premium course in Yuma. Got to go to Phoenix for that it seems. Too bad.
Very forgiving
Wide play area, fairways are green and hard, lots of roll, not much divot. Greens near perfect, flat and fast enough for most players, longest course in Yuma, second in condition only to Mesa Del Sol. Best price around, carts are old but work.
GPS wrong
I use a Garmin with the Golf App. Even though I downloaded the course to my smartwatch it never tracked our movement down the fairways. Many holes were wrong. It would show a Par 3 for a Par 5.
Playing this course for the first time was very difficult even for our golfer with 45+ years experience and 6 handicap.
Very surprised at the hills in a primarily flat agricultural city.
Golfing Desert Hills
It was a wonderful day, we were only % minutes late teeing off & the pace was great.
Golfing Desert Hills
Great day to golf, course is in good shape, great staff.
Very forgiving but slow
Hard fairways, nice greens, no Rangers that push pace, best part is almost no out of bounds :)
Great value, best public course in Yuma
This course gets a lot of play, the greens are perfect, smooth and fast enough, the fairways are starting to get hard in early Febuary and that makes for good runout but harder to hit off of. The pace can be 4.5 to 5 hours this time of year. They do have Rangers but they never get out of their carts because it's their buddies that are playing slow. So patients is required but that is all over in Yuma.
First time playing a desert course in a long time. went out as a 5 sum.Only 3 of us after 9.
I called about club rentals before paying for round. I was told $30. When I got there it was $35. Kinda wonder if they wanted to make up the difference between Golf Now and walk up prices. Just wondering. Will play again
