Deer Valley Golf Course
About
Deer Valley Golf Course in Hummelstown boasts one of the most affordable rounds you'll find in the Hershey/Harrisburg area. Since opening in 2005, more than 850 trees have been added and it has matured into a course favored by both visitors and locals. The layout features large, elevated greens and massive multi-tiered tees. From the golf course's peaks, the views stretch all the way to Hershey and the Blue Mountains. The winding layout twists and turns, doglegging left and right. It's a challenging layout round despite the absence of sand bunkers. There is however, thick rough and a number of grass bunkers to watch out for. Water only makes a brief appearance. Deer Valley Golf Course isn't overly challenging but for a fun and fair test, it's an affordable option that also offers some beautiful scenery.

Rural Setting
Very nice course-wide fairways-very friendly staff-placed with 3 great locals-carts in good shape-would absolutely go back- great feel-exceptional value-there were no bunkers with sand-grass in them
Nice and open
Course is very pretty and well kept. 0 bunkers. Was hard to find ball because there were not many trees and it was too open.
Deer Valley Outting
Great day with great friends with perfect weather! Course is in great shape and staff very accommodating! Will be back! Big Bang for your buck!
Deer Valley is Fine
The course was in decent shape and it's worth the money I paid through golfnow.

An enjoyable round of golf with friends. Love the country views and scenic surroundings
Great Course
Deer Valley is a great course. The Rangers keep golfers at a steady play. Everyone is nice and friendly. Prices are fair. I enjoy my round every time.
Thanks!
Greens
Great conditions!! Greens in awsome shape after airation.
Short and Sporty Course
Course was not very long but provided challenges and opportunities for birdies. Some holes were blind shots but still provided for a fun afternoon. Greens were challenging. Some greens were elevated which provided challenges.
golf outing
Yesterday my friend and I played 18 holes of golf at deer valley golf course deer valley is one of my favorite golf courses in the area it has challenging holes such as 5 8 10 11 and 16 it also has some holes I feel I have a chance at par like 1 37 13 17 18 I m a senior citizen who shoots in the low 100 s and enjoy both types of holes described above. The course is also well kept
Good Practice Course
Lots of par holes and some challenging ones. Great course for practice. Course is young and will mature well. Lots of seniors play so be prepared for a long day now and then.
Short par 5's cause slow play
Nice little course, but backed up quickly. Most of the par 5's can be reached in two which does slow play down. No sand bunkers. Some of the par 4's are also reachable with a well hit drive.
Avoid
This course reminded me of a par 3 course. No sand. Greens were hairy. For whatever reason, the course was packed...people everywhere. If you hit a drive over 200 yards you'll be playing wedges all day. Staff was not accomodating or flexible whatsoever. They were really quite rude. I'd play this course again for 10$ for practice. Otherwise ill pay 30 at a real course.
Clean & manicured
Somewhat simple course but that's because it's young. Once the trees grow it'll be a pretty tough course. Very well maintained .
Booked on Golf Now for a tee time that was already full!
It didn't start off well I showed up 45 minutes early to practice my putting. Greeted by a somewhat friendly Marshal who asked what group I was with I gave him my name he looked at me like I was from outer space. We walked into the "clubhouse" basement of a barn. I give my name come to find out they have double booked the tee time. Well ok I guess? I pay my Friday fee of 27 dollars cheap. I start to practice my putting mind you I'm still at least 35 min from my tee time at this point. The marshal felt it necessary to come ask if my second player was here yet about every ten minutes. Then with about 15minutes before my scheduled tee time he tells me I put you with this other group. Go ahead and tee off and I'll bring you're friend out when he get's here. No I'm good I'll just wait until he gets here and tee off at my scheduled time thank you. Well that didn't seem to work for him so he tells the group behind us a foursome of 65+ gentleman with a tee time 9 minutes behind ours to just go ahead. Mind you my friend and I are 30 and in great shape, so we might play just a tad bit faster. Well needless to say we caught them on the second hole and waited five minutes in the fairway to hit our second shots. Which landed on the green, mind you we play three times a week this time of year so by this point I'm back in the swing of things. Well they are still teeing off by the time we sink our putts. We end up skipping them on the next hole we just couldn't take it anymore so we lost a par five we paid for but I don't have six hours to play golf some of still have to work to pay these guys SS. We end up catching the other two sum about two holes later because they are waiting behind another foursome of 65+ gentlemen. Well so starts the waiting game for all of us. Our total time on the course ended up being 5 hours without a break before the tenth. So just a heads up if your under 50 I would think twice about playing this course. One last note they have no sand in the bunkers, and no fringe. not worth the money in my mind but to each their own.
Thank you
Young Course
Little to no trees, the course offers little challenge. Most players are older 55+. Its not that costly which makes up a little for the quality. If you are not a quality golfer and are just there to relax and hit the ball around then have at it, otherwise, golf somewhere else.
Excellent Value
Course is always in excellent condition. Bill Wall does a great job.
6/23/14
It was an enjoyable day of golf. I'd like to play again.
Great Course!!!
Well groomed golf course. Challenging with good variety of hole layouts. Very friendly staff.
short course but still challenging
This is a very busy course so you won't normally play fast but it is well maintained. Don't let the total yardage fool you. It still plays as a challenging course and watch out for the OB stakes.
