About
Deer Valley Golf Course in Hummelstown boasts one of the most affordable rounds you'll find in the Hershey/Harrisburg area. Since opening in 2005, more than 850 trees have been added and it has matured into a course favored by both visitors and locals. The layout features large, elevated greens and massive multi-tiered tees. From the golf course's peaks, the views stretch all the way to Hershey and the Blue Mountains. The winding layout twists and turns, doglegging left and right. It's a challenging layout round despite the absence of sand bunkers. There is however, thick rough and a number of grass bunkers to watch out for. Water only makes a brief appearance. Deer Valley Golf Course isn't overly challenging but for a fun and fair test, it's an affordable option that also offers some beautiful scenery.

Interested course
We picked the course by chance on our way to Penn State for football game.
First off the staff was awesome. Absolutely cannot beat the price. Beer only at the pro shop, $3.50 for 16oz cans 👍🏻. The course layout is a bit goofy. 5- par 5’s and 5 -par 3’s !
Par 3 on 9 and par 3 on ten makes for an unpleasant backup👎🏻
However, the bottom line is the course is in such GREAT condition that I highly recommend playing it if your in the area.

First time
We got paired up with a great twosome who were very helpful with giving the course layout for us. But apparently it was getting set up for a tournament as our tees were further back than normal and the greens were very difficult to read. Either way, we had a great time and will definitely be coming back. Pace of play was fantastic for a Friday morning. Almost broke 100 lol

Deer Valley a very nice golf course

Great course
Well maintained and pace of play was great for a Sunday morning, only had to wait a few minutes if that for the majority of the round. Got paired with 3 guys I didn't know and had a great time.

Saturday play
I usually don’t play weekends but got offer from my son. It was crowded but rangers kept everyone moving along. Course was in good shape. Greens were fast. Some hole placements were a bit difficult!
