Quail Ridge Golf Club
About
Quail Ridge Golf Club sprawls across 300 acres of rolling hills just east of Grand Rapids. The expansive course provides plenty of room on each hole. Raymond Hearn, a Michigan native, designed the unique layout, seamlessly combining links-style holes and tree-lined holes for variety. The golf course is challenging with strategically placed bunkers and elevation changes coming into play but they are balanced by more player-friendly elements including generous fairways and ample landing areas. Water doesn't have a particularly prominent role but the high fescue that borders the fairways offer plenty of challenges. Quail Ridge Golf Club's greens are large and undulating, with one of the best examples being on the 17th. The green on this par 3 has two tiers that differ dramatically in elevation and neither tier is very visible from the tee, making pin placement extremely important.

quail ridge
the greens need a lot of attention as there are way too may ball marks as well as debris from the trees or bushes
Great course - Slow pace
The course was great but the leagues we played behind were very slow. We waited on every single shot : /
Challenging course and greens .
The greens were fast with tricky hole placement . Club selection off the tee was critical on some holes .
Fun Course
Great course, one of the better public courses in the Grand Rapids area, course was in good shape for early in the season!
Good layout
Course was wet but in great shape. Greens were great and fasr
Nice links layout. One of my favorite courses in the area.
Challenging course. Staff friendly. I have played QR more than10 tims.Always looking forward to going back. Last round on 4/14/13 shot 81 with hail/snow during the front nine.If you haven't been there you need to.
Love the course, staff and management are not great.
Love the actual course, sometimes the personnel leaves a bit to be desired. And they are not great at stocking beer and providing coolers! We were there once when they were having a wedding that night, and they wouldn't let us in the clubhouse for drinks or restrooms, said there was a cart girl on the course. When she came to us on the 7th hole, she was almost totally out of everything and was leaving to go home. This kind of stuff happens a lot here. But the course is beautiful and challenging.
Great condition late in the season
The guys and girls at Quail Ridge have done a great job keeping the course in great condition. I love getting out to this course because I love the challenge it presents. I play the blues and had a tremendous round, though any amount of wind makes this course completely different every time you play it. Pin placements today were fairly easy as none were on the edge, though watch out for the par 5 #10 as that green is very challenging. I came in on the wrong tier and had a nasty double break two putt for par. Overall, this is my favorite course in the Grand Rapids area to play.
Great Course
Play this course a lot - for late in the season, it is in good shape. Guy behind counter could not have been nicer. So glad GolfNow.com has Quail Ridge as a partner.
This is a very nice course. Has both easy and difficult holes.
Had a great time. Played from the whites and found the yardages to be pretty accurate.
Nice Course
I had a chance to play this course during a nice cool fall day. The layout of the course has a bit of everything, from wide open shots to holes that are tight and need careful placement and club selection. I got a great price on Golfnow.com which made golfing here an excellent value. Will certainly golf here next season.
Nice course, good condition, greens were fairly quick
My wife and I played this course on a Saturday afternoon. It did not appear to be too busy when we played. We were staying in Grand Rapids and the course was less than 10 minutes from our hotel.
The course had some rolling hills and a few doglegs.
Always enjoy playing Quail Ridge
Quail Ridge is a challenging and affordable course. Always is good playing condition, says a lot for the grounds crew.
