Quail Ridge Golf Club

About
Quail Ridge Golf Club sprawls across 300 acres of rolling hills just east of Grand Rapids. The expansive course provides plenty of room on each hole. Raymond Hearn, a Michigan native, designed the unique layout, seamlessly combining links-style holes and tree-lined holes for variety. The golf course is challenging with strategically placed bunkers and elevation changes coming into play but they are balanced by more player-friendly elements including generous fairways and ample landing areas. Water doesn't have a particularly prominent role but the high fescue that borders the fairways offer plenty of challenges. Quail Ridge Golf Club's greens are large and undulating, with one of the best examples being on the 17th. The green on this par 3 has two tiers that differ dramatically in elevation and neither tier is very visible from the tee, making pin placement extremely important.

Nice course, Fast greens
They had just rolled the greens before we played so they were pretty fast but in great condition. Listen to the starters advice for #5. It's a tricky par 5 wrapped around water on the right side the whole way. We got a great price on Golf Now.
Very nice for the price
It was a very nice course for the price I bought it at. It would have been good for full price. Lightning fast greens and nice fairways.
Longest round of golf I have EVER played in my life.
The course was obviously over sold. There should not be 2 to 3 foursomes backed up on almost every T. The round took nearly 6 hrs. I can't say I enjoyed their greens very much either. They were very dried out and quite rough. The ball did not role very well. There was more than one occasion the ball took a number of hops on its way to the hole.
All in all not a great experience not to mention it made me very late and I got in trouble with my wife who absolutely never has a problem with my golf obsession .
Nice Course but Rates are Ridiculous
This is the closest course to my house and I am a frequent player, but each year the rates become more of a joke. This course has no business charging over $50 on the weekend, and it's still almost as expensive during the week. I like the course but Q-North management has no idea how to price it. There are much nicer courses in the area for the money, which is a shame, because my only complaint is the rates. If you don't care about value for your $$$, give it a try, but coming from someone who plays multiple times per week, it's tough to schedule this one in when you can find deals for 1/3 of the price for courses of similar value. Pace of play is great, because not many sane people are willing to pay for a course this overpriced. I don't suspect this course will stay in business much longer due to the lack of play and insane rates.
Great course
The overall condition was awesome, the greens were a little slow but I didn't affected my game.
Course was in great condition
I have played here before and each time I have found the course to be in excellent condition. The staff has always been polite and helpful. I will be planning on playing here again.
A must for the price.
Excellent course for all golfers. Five tees to challenge any golf level. Greens were true and fast.
Would recommend this course to anyone.
great course
big greens wide fairways very fair need to be good putter
Suprisingly Difficult
The course was more difficult than it appeared. The fairways were designed to be challenging and the greens were quick. The course was in great shape and the staff was very pleasant.
Will not play here again
Slowest play on any course I've ever been to. 3-4 groups on every hole for most of the round. Fairways in great shape but greens were cut too short.
Slow play
Great course but let a group of drinker slow the round down. Took almost six hours to play 18 holes. Need more rangers!!!
Spectacular Value
Last played this course about 7 years ago. Forgot what a gem it is. Well manicured course, pin placement can be very tricky. GolfNow's $20 for 18/cart (5 pm) makes it an exceptional value. The course is not overplayed at all - the location out in Ada may have something to do with it. Tucked away in marshland so you get the feeling of seclusion, peace and quiet. If you're parched, the roaming drink cart will stop by 3-4 times.
Bring your game
Beautiful course but you had better not miss the fairways. Played it from the blues and it was a good test of skill. Fairways were like carpet and the greens were true for the most part. Would definitely play it again.
Very nice course! I'll play it again.
My wife and I played on a Friday at the last minute and found the course online at GolfNow.com.
The course discount make the course affordable for us and we really enjoyed playing there. Challenging, but fair golf course and it was in great shape!
Fantastic course and facilities
Our experience was awesome. The course was in great shape. The greens were very quick. I almost stepped on snake looking for my ball! One of the best courses I've ever played. The staff was friendly and took good care of us.
Great Local Course
I have played Quail Ridge for over 10 years and love the layout! Great condition and challenging, it is an unbelievable deal through Golf Now.
Excellent course!
Great course layout, awesome greens, friendly greens staff!! Club house staff was extremely short and unfriendly. Overall, excellent day of Michigan golf. Got the Deal of the day there (cheap), got there early and got to play early.
Good Track
I have played at Quail Ridge a few times and always enjoy the course. It is kept in good conditions and the greens roll true. Will play it again for sure.
Great experience
The starter came over to us and started telling us all about the course, he would've been a great caddie for the day! The course was in excellent condition, the greens were fast but true. Felt like we had the entire course to our selves, we didn't see anyone else all day long.
So slow
Badly managed start times and lack if ranger meant a 5 hour round. Phone calls from the course made no difference and no action on speed of play. I would have liked to have been able to recommend this course but service and organization make it impossible.
