Quail Ridge Golf Club

About
Quail Ridge Golf Club sprawls across 300 acres of rolling hills just east of Grand Rapids. The expansive course provides plenty of room on each hole. Raymond Hearn, a Michigan native, designed the unique layout, seamlessly combining links-style holes and tree-lined holes for variety. The golf course is challenging with strategically placed bunkers and elevation changes coming into play but they are balanced by more player-friendly elements including generous fairways and ample landing areas. Water doesn't have a particularly prominent role but the high fescue that borders the fairways offer plenty of challenges. Quail Ridge Golf Club's greens are large and undulating, with one of the best examples being on the 17th. The green on this par 3 has two tiers that differ dramatically in elevation and neither tier is very visible from the tee, making pin placement extremely important.

Fast Greens
Love the greens on this course. They are fast and challenging.
Fastest Greens this year
Great Condition! Fastest greens I've played all year. Highly recommended!
Slow Round
Pace of play was extremely slow. 18 holes took about 6 hours. Course had a huge outing that backed everything up and initially were unsure if they would have a cart for our group.
Great value for the money
I really enjoy this course, great value for the money. Very challenging from the back (black) tees!
Quailridge golf course Cascade
Quailridge provides challenges to all levels of golfers, the greens are perfect, so are the fairways.
fairly clean course even with leaves
Good shape, excellent greens, good variety of holes.
this course is worth your time
Nice green complexes smooth and fast. Nice scenery. Two par 5 you can go for in 2 shots and the other 2 are position 3 shot holes. A number of holes take driver out of play.
Quail is always good golf
For being this late in the season, the course was in excellent shape. Since they were rebuilt, the bunkers have become very difficult from which to escape. I will probably play there again this year if weather permits.
Class course at a good price
We play courses all around the state and look forward to this course on golfnow. Great course at a great balue
West Michigan must play course
I usually play Quail Ridge 3 or 4 times a season. Great course, but if it's rained recently this course will be quite wet. Course is open to lots of wind most of the time and on most of the holes. A very challenging and pretty layout.
Tough Greens
I must have had 4 3-putts in the first 12 holes before my son and his friend and I played best ball the last 6 holes. Get in in the fairway and close to the green and a single-digit handicap golfer may get it up and down one out of five times; something I'm not used to. Shot a 42 with a birdie on third hole and that was a whale of a round for a 7 handicap!? Fun course! Just get it close to avoid the 3 putts. : )
Beautiful setting!
A very enjoyable layout with a good variety of holes. Generous landing areas of the tees and large greens allow for good scoring. Would recommend some signage on hole #5 giving yardage to the first hazard and then info on what distance to hit on second shot. Enjoy the course the few times I have played, but the only complaint is that the greens need to be toned down on the stimpmeter. If you are above the hole you are most likely going 6 to 8 feet past hole. On the 3rd green my playing partner was on the back of the green and hit a decent putt and rolled completely off the front of the green.
great deal on golfnow
was just over $1/hole which was amazing! Rate of play was excellent so no complaints.
very nice condition
course was in excellent shape, friendly staff and played 18 in 3 1/2 hrs. would go back.
best course for the price
Course was in great condition, fantastic course for the price
Nice course
The course is in fantastic shape. Challenging greens, rarely a straight putt. Fair landing areas when teeing off.
Beautiful
Course was in immaculate condition. We were the first ones out for the day so pace of play was very fast with no pressure. Greens were super fast even though it was 7am and they were covered in dew. The thing that I appreciated the most was the grounds crew. We ran into several of them out mowing and fertilizing as we were playing they would stop there equipment everytime we went to dress the ball and move out of our way if needed.
Good test of golf
Good test if golf that will have you playing a variety of shots will all the clubs in the bag. A little pricey for what you can get in the Grand Rapids area . Lots of bunkers, hazards and challenging greens. Well maintained. Definitely worth playing if you haven't played it before, you will know for yourself after playing if it's what you are looking for in a course.
Every time I am n GR
Other than a cart girl who was clueless it was an outstanding course. Well worth the price. A little off the betten path but well worth the drive. NOT a good course to walk due to green to tee distances. Outstanding greens, fairways well watered. Normally a blue tee guy but whites would have been enough, especially as all the par threes are LONG.
I will definitely play it again when in W MI.
