Golfer Reviews
Slow play, poor staff and poor service.
Course was full but pace of play was very slow. (5 Hours) There was no marshal/ranger to deal with slow play. Group in front of us had a woman beginner golfer. Very slow, deliberate and the three men would wait on the green for her as she hit many times up the fairway. No etiquette to let us play through. Totally ignored out threesome. Staff was average to rude. Could not get service at the turn for food or beverage. Pretty warm day, need water, ice, hard to get. More than likely will never play there again.
Best Public Course almost anywhere
I grew up playing the much-heralded Saucon Valley Country Club, which is legendary. And you know what, THIS course is legendary as well. It's an amazing design, always in great shape. Challenging, but fair. I have turned so many of my friends from the Lehigh Valley to this gem of a course/facility. DEFINITELY worth the 75 minute drive from Bethlehem. What a great experience playing it (my 5th time). So fun. SOOO worth it!
Great pet dye design
Great course to play at and eat at. The greens are a little quick but soft
Best course in the area, challenging with pristine conditions
I have played Iron Valley a couple of times in the past few years. It is probably one of the top two or three courses within a 30 minute drive of Lancaster/Lebanon. It is seated in the woods for a good bit of the round and definitely has a challenging layout. One of the holes is basically an island green par 3 of about 110-130 yards and is definitely a fun one. Carts are mandatory since you'll probably kill yourself trying to walk it. It's a little pricey, but sign up for their email alerts and sometimes they'll run specials for foursomes. I've played it a couple of times for $30-$35 which is a tremendous value.
