Sanctuary Lake Golf Course

Love playing here, been here a few times this summer. Everytime the staff is friendly in the pro shop and I love the course layout. However, the starter is always rude and unpleasant and truthfully I’m not sure why he’s still there. He’s always annoyed that he has to do his job. Other than that great course.

Challenging layout in pretty good condition. I won’t be back because of the starter. He interrupted me in the middle of my swing on the first tee to inform me that I was going off one group early. The Pro shop had told me just to go off. He was extremely rude, and of course the two guys behind me didn’t mind if I went first as a single. I don’t understand why you would hire someone with such a vile temperament to serve in a customer service role.

Course is nice but the staff is less than friendly (especially the starter that was extremely rude to me and then my playing partner). He does not seem to like his job very much!

Pro shop staff was much nicer, but the damage was already done.

Restaurant / concessions were closed at the turn during twilight, so stock up on beverages & food.

Course is in good condition but pace of play is quite slow so don't expect to get 18 in before sunset (probably a result of the starter hanging out at the bag drop treating people like a nuisance rather than paying customers).

This is a great course. Lots of scenic views lots of lakes (obviously) and even if your not a great golfer you’ll still have fun, just make sure you bring lots of balls if that’s the case lol.

The course was in good shape. The fairways were nice and green. The greens were in good shape. Except where people didn’t fix there ball marks. Come on we can do better! The carts were clean and worked nicely. The only complaint I would have is the person working the club house was asked to do too much. The phone was ringing off the hook and they were checking people in. No way can one person do both of these things at the same time. Overall I would play this course again and again.

The ground crew was extremely arrogant. I couldn't play a hole because one of the ground crew workers was watering the green grass and would not turn it off and let me play through. The back nine did not have flags at the holes. I ended up leaving after the 10th hole. I will not return.

If I did not run into those two problems, I would return. It's a nice course. If you like hills, you'll love the course. Just watch out for the ground staff.

We knew it would be slower because it was a holiday, but six hours was just too long. Not sure what, if anything they could have done different, but we AVERAGED 16 minutes from putting out before we teed off on the next hole

Okay I know this is owned I believe the city of Troy but what an absolute dump. 85 degree day, get there and there is was cart to use. We take that and head to the tee. Meet two other foursome, no starter anywhere to be found. First of all, there is pure dead brown spot of dirt through the entire course, fairways/rough etc… absolutely joke. The green were destroyed by snow mold and you can tell there is no effort to fix this. Thus they ran pretty slow to the standards other courses in the area have. The pin positions today were brutal/ border line illegal, some of the green don’t have a flat putt, #1 for example. Moving on, the course layout is a joke, you drive all over all the place to get to tee boxes, sometimes going the route you just went to run into other golfer; #4 I believe and # 16

Just an absolute joke for 50.00 or 48.00, ain’t worth 35.00

Very fun course challenging yet fair nice elevations for southeast Michigan
