Sanctuary Lake Golf Course

This course is one of the greatest public courses I ever play, the staff is amazing.

no one fixes their ball marks or divots. The greens are cut so inconsistently that you can't get a pure roll or break. People drive on the fairways where they shouldn't. The course has potential but they need to invest in their conditions.

I made reservations online and was greeted quickly and without issue upon arrival. We teed off on time and although quite windy the course was in excellent condition. The layout can be a little confusing between holes for first time eras and occasional users but improved signage along the cart path helps. The greens and pin positions are challenging. The restaurant appeared small and therefore limited to a small number of guests for post golf food and refreshments. Overall, an enjoyable and convenient location.

Course was a little rough this day. Not used to that. This course is usually in good shape. Hopefully it gets better

Noon tee time but #1 box was wide open clear for 2 holes at 11:50. My group was ready to go but starter elected to have us wait for a group of ladies that were running late. Starter informed us to allow them to clear green before we tee off.They got to the tee box at 11:55 and took warm up swings and 2 mulligans. By the time they cleared the fairway it was already 12;15. we elected to ignore the starter an tee off because there was a group waiting behind us. It was not until #12 that the marshall/ starter told them to pick up the pace

The course is in good shape but the pace was hard to deal with.the first 11 holes. T all golfers, If your slow then let people play through. I don't want some on my butt when I'm a bit slower the those behind me.

Nice layout, a lot of elevation changes and variety of hole layouts that required shipping shots in both directions. Some pin placements were pretty tough but nothing unfair.

Cart paths and some Fairwsy areas are in pretty bad shape! Club house is closed - not a big deal but inconvenient. Staff very nice

I shoot 95-105 regularly. And this course was the good kind of challenging. Very unique with the links style layout. Some elevated tee boxes and low chance of losing a ball were bonuses. A bit pricey but I’d definitely play this course again.

Always fun course to play. Unfortunately the rain came in and we got soaked so we had to quit after 13 holes. The guy inside the clubhouse was very cool, he gave me two nine hole rain checks.

Great to get away form the “quarantine “ nonsense and hit the course. Conditions were pretty decent, considering March weather in Michigan. Will be back in the summer

Had the pleasure of getting out on this golf course in early March, which was quite the luxury this time of year in Michigan. First time playing here and absolutely fell in love with the layout. Every hole is unique, and requires a thoughtful approach both off the tee and into the green. Tee shots on par 4s and 5s, for the most part, are pretty forgiving, but there are most definitely areas that can spring up trouble in a heartbeat. Plenty of elevated tee boxes as well as some uphill tee shots. Even with the dormant grass coming out of the frozen conditions, the surfaces played pretty fairly. Greens were understandably slow, but no complaints given the time of year. Still plenty of shelves and undulation on these greens to make them challenging. Biggest problem was the lack of care from the players not fixing ball marks. Be better people!

Pace of play was good. Clubhouse has basic amenities, and quite honestly, hot dogs and beer at the turn is about all I need to keep me happy. Overall, I'd highly recommend this course, and am very interested to see the conditions of this course in peak season. I have a feeling this could become my new favorite track if those greens firm up and get a little faster!

If you haven't had the chance to play this track, I'd highly recommend it. I drove from downtown Detroit (45 min drive) and I would do it again any time!

The off season price was a good price. The course was still fun in the winter conditions. The course was maintained pretty well for being off season as well.

The course wasn't as packed as I thought it was going to be and the round moved really nicely and everyone there was very courteous and respectful!
