Sanctuary Lake Golf Course

Course was a little wet but we’ve had a lot rain lately so that’s understandable. Haven’t played here In a while and loved coming back. Course in good shape and pace of play was decent.

The course was in great shape considering how much rain we have had. Nothing silly just straight up golf. Some of the cart routings makes you wonder if the layout could have been better but if that’s the only issue there’s nothing bad to say!

This golf course is not extremely difficult but every hole is different from one to another. It is not repetitive at all and it can also be challenging at times. It is somewhat forgiving.

I am usually not one to make reviews but today I was very upset with this golf club. Overall course was very fun, nice pace but the starter really set my mood for this round. First time out, so I was unaware that we were not allowed to proceed to the top of the hill at hole 1. The starter john was very rude about it and then gave me the worst attitude when i apologized and said i was unaware. He then gave us attitude about our pairing and was very demanding and then belittled me like i was a child. (Side note our random pairing was a very awesome older man which gave us some good feedback and gave awesome tips.) I understand he is there to keep things organized but I am an adult that is not giving any harm or being disrespectful and i would expect the same respect back, especially paying $55 to golf on cart path only. Not sure i will be back based off the hospitality alone. Very confusing hole layout as well.

Solid course. Will also give the benefit of the doubt regarding the course conditions because it rains heavy the night before. But BEWARE of the started named John! Complete jerk. Hole 1 sits at the top of a hill, bit of a drive from the clubhouse in the cart, and at the top is a small hut where we were assuming the starter sits to announce groups and when to go ahead and tee off. My double and I were 10-12min early to the tee box (9:40 tee time), the 9:32 group was already starting to tee off around 9:30. The starter comes flying up the hill from the clubhouse and starts to snap at us that we are supposed to wait down near the clubhouse. We apologize and say it was our first time there and were not sure because of the distance to hole 1 from the clubhouse so we wanted to make sure we were on time. He cuts us off and repeats 5 times "This is why you wait." And tells us it is like that at every course. We offered to go back down so he could call us, and his response was even more rude "doesnt matter now, you are doing what you want." He then informed us that a single was joining us because the tee times were too packed (COURSE WAS NOT BUSY AT ALL). And we were not told this prior when signing in/paying at the pro shop. Seemed like this starter was just making our time more and more unpleasant by the minute on purpose because of a slight inconvenience that was just a simple mistake on our part that we were trying to correct.

Hot day traps full of water fairways and greens in great shape got paired with a dad and 20 ye old beginner 4 some in front of us slow as molasses
