West/North at Tanglewood - The Lion
About
Tanglewood, also known as "The Lion," boasts 27 holes of championship golf, divided into the North, South, and West nines. The holes are played in three different 18-hole combinations. The North/West Course starts with the gentlest nine before moving on to the newest and arguably the most challenging nine. The undulating landscape provides a soft bowl-shape to many of the holes that help to keep errant shots in play by corralling them away from the bordering backyards. Water hazards come into play on seven holes on the West nine and the greens are also guarded heavily by pins. The West's third hole is one of the most memorable holes on the golf course. This tricky par 4 gets progressively more challenging as you move from the wide fairways to the steep and intrusive bunkers that lead to the green.

Tanglewood. Worth the $$
New holes or changes really make it play differently. Fun course, visually pleasing and nicely maintained. Couple of tricked up holes but most are fair and challenging.
Fun and challenging course
Well maintained and fun course to play.
Consistent course
Course was in great shape. Unfortunately, the starter needs some training in professionalism and dealing with customers. Very rude and didn't seem to care about the patrons. At the 7:28 tee time for a twosome, we asked to tee off before two groups of 4 and the rude response was NO. My son is a scratch golfer and I'm a 6 handicap and we played the course from the tips. We painfully watched two groups repeatedly hit 3-4 shots before they crossed the 150 marker. There was no marshall out on course as usual. Painful.
Okay for the money.
The price was fair. The course was okay. The greens were as hard as the parking lot. Not receptive to wedge shots at all. Nothing stayed on the green. I will not play here again even if it were free.
Tanglewood
Good layout. Very friendly staff. Driving range is short and was closed for cutting at mid day which is bad business.
Course under repair
My 4-some enjoyed the course -well maintained for spring golf.
Only problem is score card needs updating, since holes have been reconfigured.
too much construction
The course itself was fine but there are McMansions going up all over the place and all the gravel, construction, trash, etc takes away from would could otherwise be a great round of golf.
The greens were in good shape early in the year and the west side was much better than the first nine I played
Great early season round
Thanks to the course team ,for getting the course open. The course was in good condition considering the early season date.
Great course for the $$ on this November day!
Got a great HOT deal on Golf Now. Course in good shape for this time of year. Greens a bit slow.
Consruction is an Eyesore
Played the North then the South 9. South had development of the area around almost every hole. Would be better if play North and/or West for now.
Detours
Good all around course if you take into consideration that the south course is surrounded by heavy equipment. Kind if distracting along with the same side irritating the tee boxes, 6 foot square to tee off made it tough to focus. Back(west) was ok till I caught the nine hole groups. Then it was ten minutes on every box.
Tanglewood
This course is in great shape except for one hole that they are changing. Greens are fast and in excellent condition.
Great day
Course was in GREAT shape, the greens were fast and fair. Course was not too tough but the you can lose strokes on the green if you don't take the time to read them and understand the subtle slopes. Will play again.
Tanglewood GC
Very nice course. Great price at 20.00. Teed off at 11:15 am. We never had one group anywhere near us. No rushing no waiting. Great upscale location and very nice course only one issue would be the green were a tad slowish. Overall nice course and challenging.
great course
nice greens, nice fairways, water hazards, friendly staff, good value
Great Way to Start A Day
Tee off was at 7:20 AM. We were load up our clubs and proceed directly to the tee box. Our pace of play was good - completed 18 holes in 3 hours 35 minutes. Considering the amount of rain recently the course was in excellent shape. Fairways were green and lush and so were the greens. There was some spots that were extremely wet but did not impact play. We paid $17 for cart and 18. You would be hard pressed to find a better deal for course of Tanglewood's caliber.
Outstanding course...
Absolutely one of my favorite courses. Beautifully manicured with amazing views. Highly recommend.
Good Value
I played as a single. They paired me with a threesome. The course was in good condition. Pace of play was around 4-½ hours on a Sunday afternoon.
