West/North at Tanglewood - The Lion
About
Tanglewood, also known as "The Lion," boasts 27 holes of championship golf, divided into the North, South, and West nines. The holes are played in three different 18-hole combinations. The North/West Course starts with the gentlest nine before moving on to the newest and arguably the most challenging nine. The undulating landscape provides a soft bowl-shape to many of the holes that help to keep errant shots in play by corralling them away from the bordering backyards. Water hazards come into play on seven holes on the West nine and the greens are also guarded heavily by pins. The West's third hole is one of the most memorable holes on the golf course. This tricky par 4 gets progressively more challenging as you move from the wide fairways to the steep and intrusive bunkers that lead to the green.

Spring Golf
Tanglewood has done well prepping the course and even though it’s early April things were great.
Course in Great Shape
Played for the first time, the course was in great shape. The pace of play was a little slow, seemed like there was a wait on most holes. Other than that, pretty good experience. The beverage cart girl was very nice and made the rounds several times, which was good.
In good shape, but short and not challenging
Well-maintained, greens a little soft but acceptable, pace of play was great. Course layout/design not very challenging, lot of shorter holes even from the back tees. Greens fees much higher than comparable courses and also higher than better courses in the area. Course seems to get a ton of play despite this, maybe because the three 9's help with pace if play, but much better values to be had locally.
