Golfer Reviews
Needs Maintenance
This is a great layout but the greens are chewed up and the fairways are torn up. It has been a wet spring but the grass is growing well so this tells me they are not putting any money into it. I played Lost Nations, a muni course and it was like a private course. I will give this one more chance because of the layout but it was frustrating after a 1 hour plus drive.
Great golf, great place
I've been to Kennsington before and I plan on coming back. If I lived closer I would play there every week. The only drawback was that the weather has been so wet they couldn't keep up with cutting the grass. That is hardly the fault of the staff. Yesterday they were out in full force and I'm sure by today the course will be back in shape.
The staff was very cordial and truly acted like they wanted my day off to be a great one. Pro shop, starter and snack bar employees were especially nice.
Oh, yeah, the golf cart was like riding in a Caddy too!
KENSINGTON GOLF CLUB
A very nice & challenging golf course! Several of the holes could be a signature hole on one other course! Very picturesque! Love the layout! Some of the sand traps needed work but it’s early in the season! Pace of play was great! Rough was very high but we have had an exceptionally wet spring! Will definitely play again! Great course!
Possibly my new favorite!
Decided to make the hour drive to meet a buddy and check out Kennsington...so glad we did! With the level of rain we’ve had over the last couple of weeks, the course was still in phenomenal shape! You could obviously tell certain areas they have been unable to get mowers, but these were typically in areas out of play.. Greens rolled true and certainly had plenty of movement. Great layout. We will be back very soon to play again! Icing on the cake was my buddy acing #13 from 220!
April Golf
The course was in good shape for April. Great value with Golf Now green fees. Fun day for our group. We will return this summer.
Fun course
Course is fun and challenging. Usually always in good shape. Regular rates are a bit pricey for our area, but when you can find it on golf now for a hot deal, you can’t pass it up.
Great Course
Really enjoyed this course, first time playing it and look forward to coming back when there is less wind and course is in its full golf season stride. Golf carts were outstanding, clean and GPS is always a plus...Staff was friendly so it was definitely worth the drive from Cleveland to play...I highly recommend checking this course out..
Great course, just a little pricy.
This course was really fun, and I probably will play there again, but it was a little expensive for me.
Good shape - especially for November
The course was in good shape for this time of the year. There were a lot of leaves down, but that is to be expected.
Best layout in Youngstown ohio area
Kennnsington golf course is the very best course layout in northesst ohio..the greens are huge and very undulating giving you a 65 ft, putt. They used a different aeriation system this fall leaving the green hardly disturbed at all.. The course drains pretty well except lower areas of some rolling fairways. All in all it’s still my favorite course of all I play, Plus they have a great club house bar and resturant.
Need a little work on the greens
KENNSINGTON IS ONE OF THE BEST LAYOUTS IN NORTHEAST OHIO IN MY OPINION! FAIRWAYS ARE IN PREETY GOOD SHAPE. WHILE THE GREENS ARE NICE AND BIG THE GOLFERS THAT PLAY THERE DON”T KNOW HOW TO REPAIR THEIR BALL MARKS . PAYIN FULL PRICE WOULD KEEP ME FROM PLAYING IT BUT THE HOT DEALS MAKE IT A PRETTY GOOD DEAL.
.
My favorite course to play in Trumbull/ Mahoning County. Always in great shape and today was no exception. 4hr 20 minute round from the Black Tees.
Great Day for Golf
Kennsington is about 1 hour drive from my town but, it's worth the time/gas to play.
Getting better every year.
Congrats to the course staff. Place looks good. This is a challenging course so bring plenty of balls and a lot of energy. If you find yourself out of balls or energy you can replenish yourself at the excellent pro shop and snack shop.
Love the electric carts with the GPS. Although some holes like 15 and 16 become unreachable by satellite signal for some strange reason. There are 5 par 3’s on this course so your chance at greenies is great. We played an early morning round and early morning rounds always seem to make the course play longer. I played the course the next day in the afternoon and the ball really takes advantage of the well trimmed fairways. There’s plenty of water, sand bunkers, and “do not enter” ravines on the course so pick a target and stay committed.
This course gets plenty of play. You may find yourself waiting on some holes. Just be patient, it’ll be worth it. Please take time to repair divots and ball marks. No one can get mad at a person that takes care of the course. Even when there’s slow play.
Great day just hot
Course was in great condition. Greens quick and well maintained. Was a extremely hot day. No water on course to drink and no cart girl so that was only downside to the round. Will be back again.
