Solitude Links Golf Course & Banquet Center
About
Solitude Links Golf Course & Banquet Center in Kimball is one of southeastern Michigan’s premier courses. Golfers from the Detroit metropolitan area and Port Huron and even as far as London in Ontario, Canada flock to the golf course. The layout is spread across gently rolling terrain with both woodlands and wetlands, providing a diverse mix of holes. The greens are large and fast with some mild undulation, some are even ridged or double-tiered, but good shots will be rewarded with level putting surfaces. The tricky opening hole is unique in that there are two greens, which makes it so that it can be played as a par 4 or a more daunting par 5 that plays over water. The challenging island green makes Solitude Links' par-4 eighth another memorable hole. Though you may get a break from the water on the back nine, at least on four holes, sand then becomes a more prominent hazard.

Greens
Everything was a great experience, but I would like to see the greens to be in better condition. The greens were very slow, although it might be because of the rain.
Great water course
Very enjoyable course. Great use of water in many holes. Very friendly staff & excellent accommodations. Love this course!
Great day on a cold windy day
Course was in great shape fo this time of year. Cold windy day but made it even more challenging to play a pretty tough course. Would definitely play the course again.
Great Experience
Was able to play 9 holes here last week and the only disappointing thing I can say about my round is that I wasn't able to play the full 18! Every hole is worth stopping and taking a picture to remember the view. A very unique but fair layout with challenging but playable holes. Newer golf carts here to were very nice. Can't wait to come back and play again!
Will return
Haven't played here in over 10 years. In spite of heavy rain day before, the greens were rolling true and they allowed carts with 90 degree. Starter let us off early in a gap as we would have been behind another 6 groups had we gone off at our scheduled time. We caught the tail end of a larger group, on hole 4. They did not let us through, in spite of nobody in front of them. (they had fallen 3 to 4 holes behind their overall group). We did get by them on 10, and never caught their group ahead until 17. (the slow group behind us finished another 3 holes behind). In spite of the painfully slow front, we managed to finish in 3hr 45min.
While it was quite wet, the fairways and greens were in good shape for a public course. The bunkers were in need of upgrade, which they were undertaking, the sand was packed down beach sand and not well drained, but it was soaked from heavy rain day prior.
Blugene
Very nice links course and a challenging layout.
On a busy Sunday want to wait to tee off #1 so they were getting ahead of people making the turn. Really a slow round.
Humid, but enjoyed game
This course was in great shape with lovely greens, trimmed tee block area and well maintained fairways, lakes etc. We arrived quite early and were hoping for an earlier tee time, but, they were quite busy. We were not significantly delayed once we teed off, so, the pace was kept steady. It was a humid day with all that entails in the game, but, we enjoyed the round. The fairways were wet from the rain during the night, with cart path only rules. By the 8th, the ranger came to tell us we could follow the 90 degree for the carts, so, this course does drain quickly. There are the lakes, the traps, and the carry over marsh to keep you planning careful strategy. The clubhouse offers good food for very fair prices (good hamburgers). All in all, a very good place to play.
Pace
The pace was horrible . There were no Marshall’s out there they had too many twosome that need to be pushed to foursomes!!!!!!
Great Course for the price!!!
1st hole is one of the most difficult opening holes I have ever played!!! What a surprise though...
Challenging yet fulfilling
We will be back! Beautiful up north feel course! Great shape makes you think about course management on hole to hole! I took my wife and she loved it! I will say definitely not a course for beginners lol.
So....so
Strange layout and more water than wife would like.
Nice round - course could use some TLC
It's early so the green were rough - I would really like to see some attention to the sand traps as big stones instead of soft sand. But, this time of year the course is nice and dry compared to many which is why we are going back this weekend. :)
Solitude improve your customer service
Staff when checking in was pretty insistant on getting my email and phone number. I asked why it's necessary and was told "my boss requires it. I don't feel it's necessary to give a customer a hard time if he does not want to provide his personal information!
Paul, we are sorry for your check in experience. Our staff handled this very poorly and your information is supposed to be purely voluntarily. Our staff should have explained we like to get your customer information so we can send you email specials and offers, including free golf from time to time. They should have never stated My Boss requires it. If you would like us to remove you from our database, please send us a email or contact us via telephone and we would be glad to remove your information. Once again, so sorry and hope you enjoyed the course. We will speak to our staff and correct this issue immediately.

Great test of golf
Great course, excellent test of golf. The distance between tees is a little severe. From the blue or the tips the par 3’s (except 14) are a little redundant. It’s a very nice course & the price we received on a Sunday was incredible. Staff was fantastic from the clubhouse guy to the the starter to Esther the bartender.
Hey jasiu.... How wet was the course? Coming there next week from Ontario Canada and alot of our courses are very wet due to all the rain we have had last 3 weeks
Thanks
