Solitude Links Golf Course & Banquet Center
About
Solitude Links Golf Course & Banquet Center in Kimball is one of southeastern Michigan’s premier courses. Golfers from the Detroit metropolitan area and Port Huron and even as far as London in Ontario, Canada flock to the golf course. The layout is spread across gently rolling terrain with both woodlands and wetlands, providing a diverse mix of holes. The greens are large and fast with some mild undulation, some are even ridged or double-tiered, but good shots will be rewarded with level putting surfaces. The tricky opening hole is unique in that there are two greens, which makes it so that it can be played as a par 4 or a more daunting par 5 that plays over water. The challenging island green makes Solitude Links' par-4 eighth another memorable hole. Though you may get a break from the water on the back nine, at least on four holes, sand then becomes a more prominent hazard.

Great course, great deal!
You can’t expect a whole lot out of a golf course in March. That being said this course was in better condition then some that I have played later in the year. We played early with not many people at or on the course. Had a solo behind us but we were never pushed. The course itself plays wry well. It was a bit windy today so our shots liked to sail further towards hazards. All in all a great time. Highly recommend to anyone!
Beautiful course..!!
Well maintained course. Greens rolled true. Good pace of play made for a wonderful day..!!
My new favorite
Have lived in MI for 3 years now. This is my new favorite course within an hour drive of my home. Staff was great and very helpful. Pierre helped me get around a few groups so I could play quicker, as I was a single. A storm came through right before tee time, and I'm glad I waited it out. Very fun course, in excellent condition. Lots of water, lots of beautiful scenery. Lots of wildlife. Will be going back!!!
Tough layout. Bring extra balls.
Hardest hole is the first one so come prepared. Rest of the front 9 was fun. Back 9 was weird since rangers were out, yet there was a 6-some slowing down EVERYONE. One tee box had 4 groups and a group on the fairway. Other than that, decent round.
So many bridges...
Great vibe here at Solitude Links, the clubhouse and the 1st tee, 10th tee, 9th green, putting greens, gazebo and deck I'm sure when it's not covid time are bumping and a lot of fun. Today on the other hand when we played it was quiet, early and peaceful. We played before all the amenities could be used but it was a great day.
9 holes of very target style golf. I think I hit driver 4 times from the blue tees on the front 9 and I remember one of them looking back and shouldn't have. It's long iron and 160-180 into the green as there is water everywhere. If you are scared of playing from 6700 yards or more this would be a good course to test it out as the forward tees bring in a ton more trouble if you can hit it 220-260 off the tee or more.
I was amazed at how many bridges this place had, at least 1 bridge per hole and on the 2nd or 3rd hole I remember seeing a bridge to an island w/ nothing on it. Just an embarrassment of richness on the bridges, something different for sure. Also amazed the 1st hole is a choose your own adventure. Par 4 or par 5 you pick the flag which is kind of cool and odd but mostly cool and different.
Conditions were good and actually very wet so they must be pumping the irrigation hard, long heather grass was long and penal which is how you want it.
I'd play it again for sure and interested to see if the back has as many bridges, that could be an all time bridge count per 18 holes. Fun round of golf in the AM on a perfect weather holiday.
Hello, can you please supply additional information. What day and time was your tee time? We would like to see what exactly happened so we can fix the slow play issues.
Thank you so much.
