About
Situated just a few minutes from Muskegon, Stonegate Golf Club in Stone Lake sprawls across gently rolling hills that are surrounded by the beauty of the Manistee National Forest. The undulating terrain provides dramatic elevation changes that can give you a different round every time you play. Although there are residences bordering the golf course, it still feels completely secluded thanks to the sheltering trees and pristine natural setting that is accented with marshes and ponds. The golf course has a variety of greens, most are slightly raised and some are open in front while others have slopes and bunkers protecting them. The putting surfaces roll true with only a few mild undulations. Stonegate's fairways can be tricky since they’re lined with mature pines and hardwoods and more often than not you’ll find one or more bunkers guarding the most opportune landing areas.

Beautiful day for golf
Course is always in great condition. Greens were fast. No beverage cart running on Sundays. Called the clubhouse and they ran us out some drinks. Pace of play was a tad slow but being such a beautiful day it didn’t bother us.
Excellent value.
I couldn't have been happier with this course. The maintenance on this course is outstanding. The greens are fast and responsive. The fairways are immaculate. The rough is distinct and consistent. Pin placement was a challenge and a pleasure. Kudos to the grounds crew here.
Closed the course after 4 holes
The weather was rainy, but not too bad. The course held up well. Not much of a problem. All of a sudden, a ranger came around & said they were closing the course!
It’s their purgative, of course, but they also said we couldn’t get a refund on our credit card because we booked online. Frustrating.
The greens where some of the worst I've ever experienced which is an absolute shame cause it's a really beautiful course overall. Way to expensive given the conditions.

Very good course. Tree lined holes; feel like you are only one there.
Amenities very basic — but best value for golf anywhere.

Staff and course were excellent. Pace of play was exceptional. Finished 18 in three hours

Close to Muskegon and great overall course. A must play in west Michigan courses!
Great scenic course
Well groomed course with fast greens, and great clubhouse for 19th hole food & drink.
Great track
Know where to miss. Keep it below the hole. Hero shots pay off less than smart shots.
Would be nice to have a longer par 3 is my only wish. All par 3s are pretty easy.

Early Spring
Enjoyed our round at Stonegate. The weather was not so nice as it was very cool and cloudy. The course was yet in early spring condition, but staff was out and working on the course.
