Sebastian Hills Golf Club
Sebastian Hills Golf Club is tucked away in the rolling hills of the countryside, enjoying an idyllic landscape that is peaceful and secluded. Five lakes dot the course, providing interesting water hazards, and there is also a stream that meanders alongside many of the holes. The rolling terrain requires golfers to navigate their balls across a deep, intimidating gorge not once but twice. Golfers will also run into uneven lies and the occasional blind shot. In addition to the water hazards, there are more than 65 bunkers strategically placed along the greens. There are mature trees throughout the golf course except on the five Scottish-style links holes. Sebastian Hills Golf Club offers an interesting variety of holes that will appeal to a wide range of skill levels and tastes. There is also a twelve-acre driving range available for practice.

Great layout but needs attention and pricing update
We have played Sebastian for many years, it is a great layout with decent greens. Fairways and tee boxes have gotten better but still need attention. Sand traps are now hazards and this course is no longer on GHIN to use for your handicap. Yet they charge the same price or more as other nicer courses in the area????? I play there only occasionally now (once/twice a month) vs a couple a times a week in previous years.
This course is trying to make a comback
This course used to be very nice and has fallen to owners wanting to sell. All bunkers were overgrown and were ground under repair. Pace of play is what upset us more then anything the course was not crowded at all and for a holiday it was shocking. We were the only foursome on the course and although the course needs all the golfers it can get we got real tired of letting twosomes and singles through it took us over 4 hours to play when it should not have taken more then three with the very few players that were on the course. We let 4 twosomes and two singles play through trying to do the right thing but got real annoying having someone always wanting through.
T boxes needed attention some very hard to get t into ground. Overall a nice layout just needs more attention
Worst I've seen
No tee markers, tee boxes were like hitting out of the deep rough, fairways pretty much non existent, greens were like putting on a fairway. Bought a group golfer for $20 and still way oberpayed. Parking lot was empty once we started golfing it became apparent why! This course was horrible, my brother and I both bought 2 of the group golfers, used 2 the other 2 will not be used, not worth the gas money to get to the place.
Are you kidding me
I have been playing here for a number of years and it has gotten better each year.......until this year. I was shocked with the conditionof the course. Unmowed,so many weeds you couldn't find your ball in the so called fairways. Its a shame because the layout of the course is really nice. But this year it is unplayable. The worse is seeing the ads on golf channel and all the unknowing players who go out there and play. Spend the money on the course
I was hoping for better coarse conditions, but after visiting the restroom and seeing the flyer on the wall, I understood the reason. This very nice older couple have obviously owned this coarse for many, many years and were wanting to retire. The gentleman I spoke with when my son and I first arrived, reminded me of my own grandfather and treated us as if he had known us for years. They are currently looking for someone to purchase their sprawling 165 acre gem that has obviously been part of their life for along time.We had a challenging day with weedy tee boxes and fairways. The greens were very nice for this time of year but abit slow like a wet kitchen sponge. This coarse, I'm sure with a little love, will once again be an enjoyed challenge.
I went through Group Golfer and got a big discount, with that being said it was not a good experience. ZERO tee markers to tell you where to tee off. When I got the Group Golfer coupons, there was no mention of this problem. I guess I should be happy they had flags on the green. I won't be back.
check it out
Hadn't played this course for some time now, four of us played Monday and enjoyed it so much we played again Friday. One of the players that played said. he read bad reviews about the course. they did have a tee box that wasn't so great and a lot of crab grass but then who don't. you are really missing out if you you don't give it a shot.
It could be the people that can't hit a ball straight.
Not what it used to be
The course has really gone downhill in recent years. The greens were about the only decent thing about the shape of the golf course. They did rule true however they are disease. It's clear that the owner has given up on the golf course and is ready to sell. Even playing on Labor Day weekend when historically it is a busy time of year, the parking lot was nearly empty and we were able to play as a twosome without seeing hardly anyone else. The fairways and tee boxes we're just as long as the rough comma in the fairways were just as bad.
The only thing missing from this place is the cows. Because that is exactly what it is like playing. No sand in bunkers, Over growth of tree's and bush's, the fairways all have weeds and patches all over. The greens are blotchy. The tee box's are horried, never had to hit out of the rough from a tee box before. It is just not taken care of, and it is quite evident. Pot holes and serious cracks in the concrete for the cart paths.
We moved back into the Miami Valley after a 8 year hiatus. We use to play this course quite a bit and it had a nice charm about it. Now it is just a dreary place. The staff (lady) had an attitude. If I owned or was part of this course in any way... I'd be embarrassed.
Awesome Greens; Fun Course
Before this round I haven't played at this course in about 8 years. This course is definitely a fun track that is very challenging. There are a few holes that are narrow and challenging, including a couple long par 3's. The greens are in GREAT shape rolling very true.
The only thing that is bad about this course are the tees and the fairways. The fairway and the rough are the exact same length. The tee boxes are also very long grass, a similar length as the fairways and rough. The course is also extremely dry and hard.
Like I said before, I haven't played this course in year and I enjoyed my round because there was no one there and I had the opportunity to meet up with a buddy of mine and we had a blast. Greens are awesome and in great shape, but everything else is a little rough (Pun intended).
If you are going to play this course call them ahead of time and reserve a 3 or 4 wheeler that you can use instead of a golf cart. We didn't get to use them, but they look pretty cool and will help speed up your round.
Trying to sell course, so money grubbing
As others have stated, the owners are trying to sell the course, so it has fallen into disrepair. The only part that seems to be in good shape are the greens.
The course has the problem of being in the middle of nowhere and they charge too much per round. Other nearby courses that are in much much better condition do not charge as much.
They also have recently started letting groups off on the back 9. So if you are playing 18 and moving pretty well, it all comes to a screeching halt on hole 10. That is a money grubbing tactic. A course can get away with it if they have a really good staff with a starter and rangers. They have none of this. This place runs a very bare bones operation and it shows.
The course is currently in the process of being sold, so there are financial concerns that the course is taking. We haven't played this course in approximately 5 years because of the poor conditions back then, and with the current condition of the course, will definitely not be going back.
The tee boxes need alot of help
Had a good time talking with the owner while waiting on my group. The tee boxes need some additional help. Other than that the course was in good shape.
Interesting variety and challenges
Interesting course with a lot of variety in the types of holes. Some holes are very challenging with intimidating approaches and guarded greens, while others are pretty straight and open. Bunkers need work. Not sure if they are under construction or something else. All are overgrown and marked as "Ground under Repair". An out-of-the-way course that provides an interesting challenge.
Played late October 2015. Greens and aprons were in excellent condition. Fairways were cleared of leaves and dry due to conditions.
Great round of golf
We had a 1 p.m. tee time on Friday afternoon and basically had the course to ourselves. It was great! We played in 3.5 hours instead of the usual 4.5 to 5 hour round on most courses. A nice hidden gem out in Greene County.
Loved the greens smooth and fast. Aesthetically pleasing to look at but fairways were hard as a rock didn't appear to have had any water put on them in some time. Impossible to take a divot for fear of breaking a iron!
Wasn't bad, wasn't great
The staff was very welcoming, but the course was like playing from your back yard. Not much of a difference from the rough and the fairways besides being shorter. Greens were in good shape. Would not pay to play this course again.
