Memorial Day - A solid 9 out of 10
Located in the country, this course is VERY relaxing. The front nine challenges beginners to advanced players alike. The tee boxes were well taken care of and were all easily identified with updated signage. The fairways were great with some minimal patching in some places. The greens were well taken care of and would give them a solid 10 out of 10.
There is no alcohol served at the club house but you are permitted to bring your own. Absolutely loved this aspect as the price of beer can cost more than the greens fees. Staff is very friendly and ready to help.
Good casual course
Casual course that is not busy on Wed afternoon. Good for the average and under golfer
Colonial Pines
Rural country course, short in length but well maintained considering a limited maintenance budget I would suspect. The staff has always been very accommodating and it is a good course for beginning golfers or women who don't like a lot of carry and hazards. I few quirky holes but a very good value.
well keep greens were fast
people are very nice and golf course is in great shape
nice big greens
first 14 holes pretty flat course, good for driving, next few holes somewhat hilly, but challenging
Tough little course-greens are very fast!
This is a beautiful course but is also quite challenging. Lots of water, marsh land and trees. You need to be a straight shooter to stay out of trouble and due to lots of hills and lowlands, you have a number of blind shots. Probably, the more you play, the more will know where to hit your second shots. The greens are extremely fast. Be sure to practice putting before you play to get an idea on how fast the greens are running. Be sure to have a GPS as a number of the tee yardage signs are quite a bit off.
If I choose to go back, I will probably enjoy it more the next time.
BE$T BANG FOR THE BUCK
Fairways, Tees and Greens in fantastic condition. Wide concrete paths the best I've seen on any course. Played mid-afternoon with no rush.
Greens in good shape and fairly fast.
I had a good time playing this course for the first time. It's in pretty good shape. Water comes into play on several holes. Not too many sand traps and glad I didn't go into any. They had not been groomed. The greens were a bit faster than the course I play a lot which was nice. We plan on playing this course again next week.
Nice course out in Clermont county.
A nice course out in Clermont county of moderate length and difficulty. Usually not crowded. I have found the greens always in good condition. Fairways getting a little brown and hard going into late September. The course sells no beer so you have to bring your own cooler and beer, which is a plus. Food offering is minimal, only hotdogs and a few snacks. Overall I enjoy playing the course 3 or 4 times a year.
Worth the Drive
This is my second review of this course. While other courses in Clermont County fall apart towards the end of the season, Colonial Pines has been very well maintained.
The grass was dry and gave up a ton of roll, but the tee boxes and greens were still in very good shape.
It takes me about 40 minutes to drive to this course and it is well worth the drive.
Great greens!
Great deal on golf now.Tricky little course that's fun to play.Usually wide open foe fast play during the week.
Greens are good and difficult. Better than most courses.
There was NO drinking water on the course. I asked about that and was told "he" didn't want to do that. The front nine is a former farm pasture with no trees. Very short course. The natural rough areas are a good idea and adds a difficulty factor. The fairways are sparse (winter rules apply here). The greens make the course. You will learn how to putt here. The front nine is actually 10 holes and the back 8!! Weird. The back 8 is more woodsy. Many contrived holes. They don't have a liquor license and welcome BYOB. So this course is great for guys who drink a six pack while playing. The rates are cheap so drinkers almost are playing for free compared to the rip off prices at most courses.
Would recommend this course.
This course had challenging greens. The Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Quiet, scenic and enjoyable.
Well worth the money and time. Very little shade.
I drove for a half hour to get there and will return soon.
BYOB!

Had a good time
Only draw back, have to put up with hill jacks that have no business being on a golf course.
Bring a GPS
This course is a steal if you can book a hot deal, but absolutely never worth >$20 in my opinion. It's extremely short but they make up for it with several tee boxes dropped back into the woods preventing the use of a driver. The course had traditionally been in sub-par condition but was in truly great shape this weekend including quick, consistent greens. The scorecard and on-course yardage markers are completely worthless. I am not exaggerating when I say the average actual distance from their 100yd markers is 75-80 yards. If you don't have a keen eye or a GPS with you prepare to lose several balls long until you adjust!
Relatively open play.
Nice course. Only complaint is the layout. Nine does not play to the club house and ten starts away from the clubhouse.
Great value
Excellent course for the money. Fast pace of play, not very many groups on the course.
Barely a golf course
This is one of the worst courses I have ever played. I was charged $12 on GolfNow, and that was too much. The layout is incredibly bad. There are several holes with blind tee shots, and if your tee shot isn't blind, your second shot is. The fairways are barely distinguishable from the rough. The greens are slow. Plus, it is in the middle of nowhere. I will not return to Colonial Pines.
