Elks Run Golf Club

About
Elks Run Golf Club in Batavia was designed by Greg Norman. It sprawls across 163 lush and secluded acres where golfers will be hard-pressed to find a home anywhere close to the course. Norman carefully utilized the natural terrain, incorporating the meandering creek on several holes and also adding a few holes that venture up the side of a hill. Thanks to the dramatic elevation changes, there are some tees where your ball seems to stay in the air forever. The first nine is more open with a traditional links-style layout that then leads to the more densely wooded back nine. In addition to the trees and other natural hazards, there is also an unusually thick first cut of rough as well as tall stands of native grasses.

Elks Run 9th Tee, short but challenging with a view of what is to come. Photo submitted by msparke on 10/25/2012
Greens and tees showing signs of wear and fungus
I love this course - it’s a great layout. It is typically well maintained, but some of the tees and greens are showing distinct signs of wear and fungus or disease damage. Fairways and traps were generally in good shape. They really need a ranger out on the course - our foursome was slowed by two singles in front of us who never joined up and delayed our pace of play the entire back nine!
Not bad but could’ve been better
Like the course and the layout. We had to wait on every hole and there were no rangers out monitoring the pace of play. The greens were in terrible shape, expected more from this course. Ball marks all over, we watched fixed 3 a hole on the front. Staff was nice. Overall not bad but need to improve greens and pace of play
Excellent condition
It's been very hot and dry, but you can tell they dump a lot of water in this course. Fairways and rough were lush, greens were soft, bunkers were in great shape. Good value for the money as always.
Do better
Employee attitude & tone matters. Do better, the game is evolving.
Course is in great shape!
While Elk’s Run gets a LOT of play, the greens are still in good shape and the fairways as well. Of particular note were the green side bunkers - all in great shape, firm but consistent! The course superintendent is doing a super job here! I’m anxious to get back out!
what a wonderful course in Ohio
Elks Run is one of the most fantastic courses in Greater Cincinnati area. Course green and fairway are always managed very well. Three or four sand bunkers need to fill up. I found some renovation work found such as tree cut, new grass seeding, etc. I strongly recommend the course. Thank you.
Worst pace I’ve ever seen on a golf course
I started at 6:15 PM and got through 4 full holes by 8:45 and had to leave the course. I paid for 18 and got 4 holes because groups of 6 were ahead of me. This is my favorite place I’ve ever golfed and this has never happened before but I wasted all of my time as well as my money yesterday. Extremely upset about this
Amazing Course!
One of the best courses in the area! Throw all your preconceived notions out the window, this course is as great as they come. Please stop by and play a round here you won't regret it and you will be coming back like I am.
