Elks Run Golf Club
        About
Elks Run Golf Club in Batavia was designed by Greg Norman. It sprawls across 163 lush and secluded acres where golfers will be hard-pressed to find a home anywhere close to the course. Norman carefully utilized the natural terrain, incorporating the meandering creek on several holes and also adding a few holes that venture up the side of a hill. Thanks to the dramatic elevation changes, there are some tees where your ball seems to stay in the air forever. The first nine is more open with a traditional links-style layout that then leads to the more densely wooded back nine. In addition to the trees and other natural hazards, there is also an unusually thick first cut of rough as well as tall stands of native grasses.

Great layout
Very enjoyable round of golf!
The layout is great and fun!
Conditions were good.
Greens and fairways great!
Staff very professional and friendly.
Whole experience was great!
Thank you to the staff!!!
Pace of Play/Ranger
Overall decent course but like most other reviews have said, the pace of play was awful (5-hour round), waiting on every tee box and every fairway, and no one repairs ball marks on the greens. The redneck riviera of Cincinnati area golf.
Good shape!
Elks in better shape than most at this point in the year. Would play there again.
Great layout. Rough and greens needs work
First time playing this course. Great layout with challenging holes and some good movement to the design. The staff were all helpful and polite. The bad news was the rough around the greens was baked out and patchy..As a group we agreed to move your ball to any place near with grass. The greens had been punched but that was not as bad as the unfixed ball marks. There were signs on every green telling people to “ repair your ball marks on the green” but it was very apparent people were not! The greens need work. I WILL go back because I love the layout, I just hope some work has been done to address these things.
Expensive for no reason.
Played here for years but this year greens are absolutely destroyed, showed up to a tee time and they had no carts had to wait 30 min past my tee time. Staff is young and didnt seem to care. Ranger hounded us for pace of play while playing 17 min a hole for a 4 some. Tee boxes beat up too. So many other courses for cheaper and dont have these issues. Golfer beware.
Overpriced
From a course layout perspective, this is one of my favorite courses.
Unfortunately, on the day we played, course conditions were far below what I’d expect from a $76 round. Tees were fine but it was shocking to see how many unfilled divots were in the fairways. Similarly, the greens were pockmarked by unrepaired or improperly repaired ball marks.
Hopefully, the greens staff will be able to get the course back into the conditions we’ve come to expect.
Sad that so much damage is being done by inconsiderate players!
Great Value for the Money
While one of the more expensive courses available in the area, Elks Run was well worth the greens fees. Carts were great - electric and had GPS. Even though the fairways were a little burnt out in places, it was much less so than other courses in the area. Greens were great - good speed and consistent. Driving range & putting greens were good. Clubhouse was nice and food & beverage offerings were legit.
Not Worth The Price
I’ve played this course a dozen times and I’ve never seen it in this bad of condition. Unfortunately it’s just not worth $70-ish dollars to play a round.
