Elks Run Golf Club

About
Elks Run Golf Club in Batavia was designed by Greg Norman. It sprawls across 163 lush and secluded acres where golfers will be hard-pressed to find a home anywhere close to the course. Norman carefully utilized the natural terrain, incorporating the meandering creek on several holes and also adding a few holes that venture up the side of a hill. Thanks to the dramatic elevation changes, there are some tees where your ball seems to stay in the air forever. The first nine is more open with a traditional links-style layout that then leads to the more densely wooded back nine. In addition to the trees and other natural hazards, there is also an unusually thick first cut of rough as well as tall stands of native grasses.

Elks Run 9th Tee, short but challenging with a view of what is to come. Photo submitted by msparke on 10/25/2012
Nice FALL Golf
Everything was great except the pace. Would like to have seen a ranger. The carts have GPS so the pro shop could see where the slow groups and backups were. Wish they'd sent a ranger out to keep things moving.
Liked the course conditions overall
Everything good except the bunker conditions.
Not enough sand and players ahead didn’t rake the traps after they were finished.
Great layout
Great course, various challenge and great reward for hitting great shot.
The tee times are a bit close go each others made congestion on the course. The tees condition were below average.
Bad Sand Traps!
The course and staff are fantastic. I have played this course a lot this season. The sand traps are in desperate need of sand, a lot more sand, especially in the green side bunkers. There is sand in them but about 1/2 of an inch at most. It's very hardpan under the thin layer of existing sand making recovery shots unnecessarily challenging.
Very nice course
Great course and great staff everyone is very friendly and organized
Beautiful Course
The facility and staffing were very nice, extremely organized and well maintained. I would absolutely refer this course to friends.
Challenging
Played with my friends for the first time at elks run. Challenging course and very well maintained. Will be to play again in the near future.
