Deer Track Golf Course

About
Tucked away on Cincinnati's east side, Deer Track Golf Course is one of southwestern Ohio's best-kept secrets. The 6,400-yard layout offers a fun yet challenging round with multiple tees. Players of all skill levels will enjoy the course. Water will be your primary concern with hazards coming into play on 14 holes. The signature hole, which is also the course's toughest, is a par-3 island green that will put your accuracy to the test. You'll also have to contend with a few strategically placed bunkers lurking along the rolling fairways and gently undulating greens. In addition to the golf course, Deer Track also boasts a wide range of practice facilities including a driving range, wedge range, a putting green, and a short-game area that measures more than 50 yards.

Not a 4 star course
We used to play here 5 or 6 years ago when the course was in good shape. Then we stopped playing here when the course took a down turn. I read the recent reviews and people were giving the course high marks so we decided to give it another try. That was a mistake. The course is not terrible but in no way is it a 4 star course. Maybe 2 stars. The people were friendly and we finished 18 holes in 4 hours. I now will think twice about reviews on GolfNow. Who ever gave this course 4 or 5 stars must not know what it is like to play on a true course.
good course very open and fun to play
enjoyed the round, course was in good condition pace of play was very quick we finished 18 in 3 1/2 hours.

cwcraig, thank you so much for your comments and review. We are very glad to hear that you enjoyed your Deer Track experience. We hope you come back out to see us!
My Favorite Course
Deer Track is my go to golf course. The course for the most part is well cared for, there are some patches that aren't the greatest but overall the course is in good condition. The staff is very friendly, and to me its a nice thing to see starters and rangers on the course keeping the players on time. The difficulty of this course can be challenging to anybody with the placement of the water and sand traps, but on each hole there are chances to hit that shot that keeps you coming back.

u270374154, thank you so much for your positive review and for sharing your favorite things about our course - we greatly appreciate it! We certainly are thrilled to hear that we are your favorite course, and appreciate your business. We welcome you "home" to Deer Track any time and look forward to seeing you for your next round!
DT
The course was in good shape for the fall. It was more difficult than my playing partner thought it would be but was in very good shape.
Tough test of golf!
This is a challenging course with lots of interesting holes. There are water hazards, high grass, and/or woods on every hole! Most can be fairly easily avoided if you are an accomplished golfer.
Nice layout of golf course
Played Deer Track for the first time. Really enjoyed the way the course is laid out and the water challenges on many holes. Was a bit wet from recent rain but that can't be helped. Course is being worked on to improve and I can't wait to go back and play again. Liked the challenge for sure.
First time
First time playing this course. Greens had been aerated recently so had a lot of sand . Combined with previous days heavy rain, putting was difficult due to ball picking up and holding a lot of sand. Greens will be in great shape later on. No10 fairway was mainly dirt, looked like it had been slit aerated and seeded . Rest of course played fine, water comes in to play on several holes. Much work being done all over the course. Still a great day and enjoyed the course. Once all improvements are done, should be great course to play.,
Flat w/ a lot of water
Nice flat course to take daughter that is beginning to play. A lot of water though for beginner.
Quality at a good price
First time playing Deer Track, and I can say that I was pleasantly surprised. The greens were in great shape, rolled true and they were quick. At only 6400 yards from the back / blue tees the layout was challenging. The front 9 has 3 par 5's and 3 par 3's - which I like. The par 5's are not push-overs, they are fairly long.
The main negatives are only due to changing the fairways over from bent to zoysia grass, but I was impressed with the conditions, the facility and the staff.
LOST AND FOUND
When I learn to play this course I will be able to play just about any other around, I lose a few balls but I find many also.
Late Afternoon Mid Week Round
Good price from golf now made a one hour drive worthwhile. Course not crowded and moved right along on front side. Hole locations next to each other allowed for errant tee shots, straight off tee allowed for fairly easy approach shots to greens which rolled true, however cups had not been changed in a while and had grass growing over edge of hole causing anything but dead center hits to roll out which is inexcusable. I had five lip outs during round which was very unlike my putting. Course has unusual layout including five par fives including back to back on nine and ten, and six par threes, including two of more than 180 yards from the blue and two which were 200+ including one of 250 from blue and 225 from white. One of the par threes has an island green which doesn't hold anything but a high shot into it. Fairways had a mixture of grasses with some thin spots, course has several water holes and a fair amount of sand traps. Overall course has an interesting layout with these unique features making it different from most courses. They put a threesome in front of us on the back nine which caused some waits and that was uncalled for as we were challenged to finish before dark. Poor management decision there, saw no rangers on course. Scorecard is well designed with pin locations 1 thru 4 and maps of each hole with detailed water, sand and yardages from various points which is a very nice touch
The course was average. Greens were good.
The most interesting part of the course was the island par 3 hole. The fun bear 10 fairway was in poor condition. One of the locals in my foursome said the fairway was closed last year for repair.
Great Greens
This course delivered way more than I expected. Fairways were generous. Greens were excellent and are the teeth of the course. I will definitely recommend playing it.
Fantastic greens
Flat course with some severe doglegs and lots of water. Fairways were a little rough in spots but they said in the clubhouse it's a work in progress. The greens however were in fantastic shape, rolled true and fast.
Good course
The course is in good shape. Staff is very friendly. I like the layout. This course is recommended.
lot of water nice greens and fairways
great course for for any type of golfer . nice friendly people
Great Course, Ice cold Beer
Course was beautiful, fairways were a little beat up but that grass is hard to upkeep and i imagine its taken a beaten over the last few months, I play here at least twice a month, usually part of a foursome, this was my first time as a single
Good course for the price
Friendly staff and organize tee times. fast to play.
Island green into the wind!
Tough par 3's, lots of water carry shots, made for a very interesting round of golf. MarCIA was our very friendly refreshment server.
much improved from last year
Good flat course in Goshen. Last year fairways were rough. This year everything had changed and the course was in good condition. Greens were challenging.
With three reviews all negative, negative seems to be the outlook on life. Course was enjoyable and a bargain for the price. I will golf here again. Not a 5 star, but certainly not less than a 3 star.
Hi, golfnutgn,
We are sorry to hear that you do not feel our course deserves 4 stars and that your experience was not up to par (no pun intended!) with your golfing expectations.
Over the past several years, we have been working hard to ensure that our customers are satisfied with the course we provide them, and have been doing all that we can to make sure this happens. We have made a plethora of improvements to the greens and fairways, added lots of trees and plants, and have made huge gains in our course's drainage system. We personally feel that the course is in better shape than it's ever been and hope that you continue to "check in" with us from time-to-time to experience this improvement for yourself. Please don't wait another 5 or 6 years!
Each day, we receive invaluable feedback from our customers about how thrilled they are with our course's shape and how it has improved dramatically. These comments are what drive us to continue working hard to make updates and increase customer satisfaction, and we will continue to do so.
Thanks for taking the time to come out and play!
