Always fun, always challenging
This course never disappoints, in my opinion it’s a top 3 public course in the greater Cincinnati area. Great course layout, it’s kept in great shape. Variety of challenges and strategy holes. Hard to beat it.
Excellent course — one of the best in Cincinnati
I have played stonelick a handful of times this year at different times of the year. This course is by far one of the best courses in Cincinnati. The only other course to rival stonelick would be blue ash. In terms of layout, this is by far the top course in the area, and course conditions, they are rivaled by few. It is not quite a country club quality course, but it’s the closest you’ll get with a public course. What is impressive to me is that the course is in just as great of shape in November as it is in May. You won’t see that very often. There is a certain appeal to this golf course that just keeps me coming back. Would always recommend.
Play
Didn’t like how on the practice green a group was already trying to pass us because we didn’t rush up to the first tee after the group just got into their carts hitting their tee shots. Also didn’t like how the ranger asked us to pick up play with 3 holes remaining when pace of play was slow the whole round due to being cart path only.
November at Stonelich
A most beautiful day in November at one of my favorite courses. Greens were fast, but beaten up more than I've seen. This is always a challenging track but fair. Tee time was pre 9am and our group commented they had never seen so many cars in the lot. This led to one of the longer rounds played here (5hrs) even though a ranger was very visible on the course. The driving range had been closed since Nov 1, and this was disappointing given the 70's weather and we showed up early to get some swings in. All in all, this remains one of the top public courses in our area and one "others" have seemed to find as well.
Amazing course all around
A beautiful course from the clubhouse to all holes. You MUST bring your best golf to play, but it’s still worth losing a few balls to get to play this course.
Each hole has its own individual challenge, whether that be making sure to hit a long, straight drive, or making sure your iron shot is on the money. There is indeed a strategy to play this course, but if you like a challenge it’s the type of course for you.
The staff is equally as amazing. Upon entering they were sure to give me proper advice (as it was my first time playing here), and the employees at the bar were also so kind!
A great experience, and I am very eager to play here again!
Best Public Course in the Area
What a great experience for a Sunday round. The course was full but the pace of play was perfect, didn’t even notice any waiting. The practice area was nice to hit off grass and range balls available with purchase of a round. Fairways and tee boxes well kept and the greens rolled very well. First time playing and the course was challenging but fun. Wouldn’t blink an eye paying the same amount again for a weekend round. Definitely going again and soon !
Love Stonelick Hills
This remains my favorite course to play in Cincinnati. I’ve played almost every public course and none compare to this one. Even today after a long season the course was still in good shape. If I could only play one more round of golf it would be at Stonelick Hills
Fun layout in really good condition
Weather was perfect, low 60s into mid-70s with no wind. It has not rained for 2-3 weeks so fairways and rough are running out on every course I've played.
Played blue tees (6,500y) which are not very long in these dry conditions.
The layout is fun and interesting. I like courses where strategy off the tee is an option, not just grabbing driver and bombing it. This course has several holes with water and/or doglegs, where hitting it 220 is much safer than 275. Again, with it being dry I git 5i off 4-5 par 4s and had < 150y into those greens. The one hole (#6 maybe) where I did hit driver b/f I realized my options, I ended up going through the fairway and had to punch my approach shot.
The course seems walkable (I did not walk it) but not optimized for walking. i.e. It's not very hilly but you're looking at several longish walks from green to next tee.
Greens are on the fast side but not unfair. What I found challenging was so many spots where it looked there was subtle break in the green but putts wouldn't move. Maybe it was the pin positions but next time I play I'm assuming it's a straight putt unless the break is very obvious.
Great course but pace of play could have been monitored beyter
Nice course but expensive
We paid full price for our 10 year old since apparently junior rates end at noon.... which is a little much. $80 for a junior isn’t really an appropriate price.
