Golf Advisor: Top 25 Courses for Pace of Play in the U.S. (2019 #7)
Reviews
Best Public in Cincy
Without a doubt the best public track in Cincinnati. The iconic 9th hole with the island green is extremely memorable. Driving range and practice area are top notch. The only negative would be the tree on #2. Other than that, I'd play this every day and be happy.
Great course, great food, stupid handicaps
Best hot dog I’ve ever had. Course layout is great. Course quality was very good.
BUT HOW IS A 146 yard PAR 3 HARDER THAN A PAR 5 WITH AN ISLAND GREEN. The handicaps on the holes are stupid. Whoever did that marred my experience today.
Wish it was $50 all year lol
Had a great day here, course was in good shape for March. Huge fairways and nice layout always makes for a fun round. One of my favorite courses in Cincy.
Great Course
As usual course was in great condition. Pace of play was a little slow. A gorgeous fall day for golf.
Very large greens, Some greens very narrow to hit to.
Ball position very important. Course not designed for beginners.
Water comes into play on many holes.
Great layout
Great course with amazing greens that make course different every day. Would have like faster pace of play- took 440 on a Monday afternnon
Beautiful course
4 star. Is this the nicest public course in Ohio? Yeah it’s pretty close. Amazing fairways, even better greens. My only complaint, and an annoying one at that, would be the maintenance crew. They continued to follow my group around, never stopped when we were hitting, and was almost struck several times. Very aggravating. Overall the course is great.
Beautiful course
The course itself is beautiful. The fairways were extremely over watered. Walking on them you could feel yourself sinking every step. The course maintenance crew was extremely rude. Wouldn’t stop to allow us to hit just kept driving back and forth in the fairway where we were hitting. The members behind us were also rude. We were a foursome averaging ten to twelve minutes per hole and was being pushed the entire time.
Unbelievable course; staff was less than friendly
Driving range, putting green, tee boxes, fairways, rough, and greens were in immaculate shape. I’ve played private & public courses up and down the east coast, and this is one of the nicest courses I have ever played. However, the staff from the gentleman in the pro shop to the staff that follows you hole to hole pushing your pace of play was less than friendly. In a foursome, playing scramble rules to keep up the pace, and no signs of anyone behind us, but we had a pro following us hole to hole pushing us along for no reason. Limited menu on the turn for food was strange as well.
I would recommend this course on the sheer quality of the course but I would absolutely let people know what to expect with the staff.
Best public course in the Greater Cincinnati area
The course is in great shape. The best in the area in my opinion. the 30 minute drive is rewarded by a fabulous experience.
Late review
This is much overdue, I traveled from California for a wedding and had to check out some mid-west golf, Needless to say, this was a course of class, and pure beauty, Lush green everything, which I later learned, the whole state has haha. Perfect green speed, not a blade of grass out of place, and holes that reminded me almost of Augusta. For the price, id play this beauty every day of the playable year. While all courses in the area were great, starting my trip with this one, was the right move, Loved everything about it, including the random 3 i was paired with.
