Located just minutes from the beach, the conveniently situated Clearwater Country Club sprawls across a coastal landscape of Spanish moss-draped trees and towering, mature oaks. Stevenson Creek meanders through the golf course, coming into play on six holes. Built in 1920, the layout has a traditional design that is challenging but fair. The course is tight but it plays long, especially on the par 5s. The rolling fairways are well manicured and the greens play at medium speed and are consistently well maintained. Clearwater C.C. actually has a reputation amongst locals for its superb conditions. It is also popular with visitors, snowbirds specifically, since the club offers the area's only seasonal and short-season membership with exclusive privileges. It is also one of the few clubs in the area that allows walking.

Good track all around. would def play again

First time playing here. Teetime was 815 on a Sunday morning so pretty busy And it was nice that the starter didn’t pair us up with anyone.pretty tight course but things kept moving and never really had an issue with getting hit into except for the second hole because the back of the driving range was somewhat close to the tee box. I don’t blame the course for that. The guy should’ve known he can hit it that far and he clearly saw us.

Course conditions seemed on par for this time of year in Florida. A lot of tricky but fun greens with plenty of bunkers. If you can hit the ball long and straight off the tee, you’ll score pretty well here. Decent amount of water but nothing that can kill your round.

I would definitely play here again if I came back to the area. One thing I don’t see often in Michigan was the gave you portable bag coolers if you order drinks from the bar at the turn. They also had ice machine machines out on the course by bathrooms so you could refill the ice. Big plus that they had protein drinks and hydration powder packets in the bar as well so you don’t have to eat junk while you are playing. I purchased 2 16 ounce beers, a can of soda and a protein drink and it was only 13 bucks!

Overall, would recommend for golfers of all skill levels. Played with the GF and front tees are pretty generous so lots of opportunities for good scores for the “improving” golfers.

13 handicap and I shot a 88.

EARLY AM ROUND , late NOV 2024

Solid value. Greens and fairways 8/10

Tee boxes. 5/10

The reversing of front to back 9 is hard to understand the

Reason. GPS apps are all confused and some home signs don’t match actual yards. Lots of contrary reviews on this. Management should respond/ fix

Sunday golf

The course was in great shape. Greens were smooth and would hold a shot. Sand traps are well maintained.

Other than the 5 some playing ahead of us, it was a great outing. They were also in the process of switching the 9’s.

I recommend playing there & have enjoyed playing the course for several years.

Signs don’t match the holes, impossible to know the yardages even with using a gps app because nothing matched. There is a hole on the back 9 that has a green less than ten yards right of a tee box making it dangerous, any bad shot could easily knock someone out. Terrible hole design

Pace is ridiculous

Tee times were booked 7mins apart… that’s crazy to start.

I was an add on to a tee time, they had 5 people on my tee time so I had to switch. Course overall was okay but the pace was awful. Took 6+ hours to finish a round

hurricane leftovers

Considering a hurricane had just gone through the area a few weeks prior, the course was in pretty good shape. The greens were recovering from aeration so it was a bumpy ride to the hole They had done a good job of cleaning up the course to make it playable It was still a bit wet, but at least you had grass to hit off.

A tired, old course

I think Clearwater Country Club has seen better days. Mind you, I played this course after 2 recent hurricanes and considering that it was actually in fairly decent shape. The holes were quirky, and there were few memorable holes. It was hard to tell where the fairway ended and the rough began and there was a lot of random sand covered golf cart paths. I’m not really seeing how John Daly golfs here.
