Nice layout, needs attention
I played this coarse 2 years ago and it was in much better condition. Practice area is in rough shape, as are a few of the greens. I do like the layout, and would hope conditions improve if I return.
Rip
Love the layout conditions are little rough . Bare grass in many areas . Greens average 1 green totally terrible ! But still like course not happy about GN charge of 9$ for no reason for just 2 of us ! will book direct with course next time
THE WORST COURSE I HAVE EVER PLAYED!
Dear GolfNow Homies, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS COURSE! It is in terrible shape, and you are charged a fortune to play here! Compare the pictures to the ones displayed on Golf Now! It looks like Kim Jong Un tested his nuclear warheads on the tee boxes, fairways, and greens!
Unfortunately, my pictures of Rocket Man's handiwork would not load!
Good , but not as good
I have played this course several times over the years. It’s in as bad a shape as I can remember. The tee boxes are beat up and mostly sand. The greens range from OK, to patched, but 2 look dead. While there’s plenty of water around, the course looks dry and needs watering . The workers are apologetic about the condition and don’t understand what’s going on. For $129-$139 greens fees there are much better choices of courses to play that are in much better shape. It’s in $70 shape, not twice that!
Don’t waste your money.
Greens were dead. Tee boxes were dirt. I get it’s peak season and you can charge what ever you want but this was in terrible shape and not worth anywhere close to what they charge.
Worth it
Got a decent deal for threesome with golf now. Beautiful course. It was harder than it looks. Greens were very fast. Course was in great condition.
Extremely slow play
Took 5 hours to complete round, rangers no where to be found. If you can get past the slow play not a bad course for the money this time of year (Feb).
Fun Day, Course Needs TLC
Played with a 10:30 tee time. Pace of play was good, just a touch over 4 hours. Awesome layout, challenging but also able to score fairly low if you hit it straight. Staff here is very nice and laid back, but are very responsive. Very professional operation. With that being said, the course needs a good amount of tidying up. The starter let us know beforehand that they had a fungus issue in places this winter, which was fine. Most of the greens, fairways, and tee boxes were fine, but everything just seemed dry and patchy. It’s almost like they need a more high-powered irrigation system all over the course. Some smaller things the course could use also is some more elaborate signage for the holes, beautification, and a halfway house. If they did those things, this course would be a grand slam and arguably the best in the area.
Don't Waste Your Money
Paid $258.00 for my wife and i to play as guests. The golf course is in terrible condition.
The owner is obviously content to take your money and has done nothing the past few years to improve the golf course.
Don't waste your money, there are many golf courses in the area that provide much better value than Magnolia Landing.
Need to adjust yardages
Course was in decent shape but the tee lengths were off. We played the green tees based on the yardage on the scorecard but it was about 500-600 yards longer than listed. A lot of holes played back. If I’d have known this I would have moved up. This is a nice course but needs to get this correct and a halfway house after nine holes would help speed up play and give golfers a chance to grab a quick dog or sandwich at the turn
Slow play dilemma
Teed off on time (twosome) following a foursome.
By the 6th hole we were 20 minutes behind & foursome wouldn’t let us play through. Don’t know if they were members, but we wound up 70 minutes behind proper pace of play. Saw the Marshall twice in 18 holes.
Course conditions were just ok. Tee boxes chewed up.
Traps wet compacted sand with lots of loose impediments but playable. $130 per person we’d hoped for better course conditions.
I will come back as I like the course layout & green complexes. I think, given course conditions, $89 to $99 would be a fairer price.
