About
Carved from pine, oak, and magnolia trees, Cypress Lakes Golf Club tumbles through gently hilly terrain, a rare landscape for a Florida course. Formerly known as the Solutia Golf Club, Cypress Lakes is also covered with hundreds of crepe myrtles and blooming azaleas and of course, cypress trees. Water comes into play on a few holes and the trees can prove to be tricky but the challenges of the golf course are balanced with the generous width of the fairways. The course's playability appeals to a variety of different skill levels, especially with four sets of tees available as well. In addition to the course, there are also extensive practice facilities available at Cypress Lakes Golf Club including an all-grass driving range, a practice putting green, and a practice bunker.

Golf with a friend
We had a nice day of golf with a friend that was on vacation in Destin. He said this course was in better shape then other two he golfed over there. Greens were very fast and some holes almost unfair pin placements making it like miniature golf with the elevated greens. Some areas were rough but marked as ground under repair. Pace of play was good. We have really enjoyed this course this Fall. Staff always friendly.

Slow pace
Slow pace, no Marshall to move slow players ahead of us

Good value/ very pretty course
Although we golfed at a very busy time the pace was good and the other golfers were very courteous. It is a very scenic course and always a pleasure for us to play a few rounds here when we are visiting the area.

I really enjoy this course!! Some really challenging holes with some great elevation changes. The course and the greens are always in great shape and there’s always some pretty challenging pin placements. Kudos Cypress Lakes!!

Day with friends
Course was in good shape. Greens very fast and some wicked pin placements today. Fun day playing best ball with friends though! Hope to be back in future for more fun!

Nice course, tough greens
This is a fun course to play and is in overall good shape. Of particular note is that the greens are tough . . . Small, crowned, and many false front greens. The traps have beautiful sand and are easy to play from. Some water but not in play on most holes. I'd rate this course an overall 4.5. Staff is both friendly and accommodating.

Best place in Pensacola for a chill round of golf. Course is in great condition with a relaxed, friendly staff. Great value when I play with my son.

Pace of Play
Greens were on the best shape I’ve seen them in a long time. They were lighting fast. Pace of play was AWFUL. I was a single behind a foursome wouldn’t let me play through till 7. Then teamed up with two other guys and we were stuck behind a 5some the rest of the round. It was awful.

Needs Improvement
Course was in fair to good condition. “T” s were in ok shape however many appeared like they had not been watered in a while. One of my biggest complaints is the “postage stamp” size of the “T”s. All of the asphalt cart paths need replaced. Some cart paths leading off a T are dirt while others were gravel (pitiful). They need better directions to the next hole as for the first timer here it can be confusing. Restroom facilities on the course are lacking and of the two one is hidden and not marked. The course is well laid out, some water but not over abundant. Drainage issues on a couple of holes. Wish I had the money to purchase this course....I could turn this hidden beauty into the #1 course in the panhandle. It’s amazing to me that we do not have a class A course in all the Pensacola area. A new well paid grounds superintendent is needed and put some money into course improvements.

Beautiful course at a bargain price
Very well maintained course, and has a lot of character..mature. and challenging greens. Awesome to have 5 or 6 different tee areas to be able to play how long you are..Live a block away and.tjis will be the course I choose to play at.

Challenging, fun course
Great course. You must be aware of where to get your ball on the green to be below the hole as there are severe downhill breaks. Staff was fantastic on a busy day. Cart barn was hustling getting carts back out for second rounds. Pro shop staff were sweet and helpful.

Pace of play , greens difficult to read
Pace of play with no roving Marshal was totally unacceptable. 15-20 minute delay on each hole took about 41/2 -5 hours to play 18 holes from the sr test. The greens were very difficult to read especially for amatures.
