Marcus Pointe Golf Club
About
Marcus Pointe Golf Club tumbles across 600 acres of rolling woodlands, which is a rare occurrence in the mostly flat Panhandle area. The back nine is where golfers really begin to notice the dramatic undulations. Earl Stone, who has designed several Gulf Coast golf courses, created the layout. He has built his reputation on building playable and affordable courses. While water may not come into play often, golfers will still be kept on their toes by the numerous sand bunkers and an abundance of trees and of course, the tricky angles and elevation changes throughout. The golf course is challenging but fair with a playability that appeals to golfers of all skill levels. The greens are well manicured and keep all abilities in mind. Four sets of tees make Marcus Pointe Golf Club even more accessible.

Terrible Greens
The greens have sod and sand placed in scattered areas on every green. The marshall approached us asking us to pickup the pace on hole #4 after waiting on the maintenance crew on #3 hosing down the #3 green and again after #4 hole. We waited on the maintenance crew on #4 as well. Someone needs to get in touch with the grounds crew and Marshalls. Very disappointed with Marcus pointe.
Marcus Point
Course in good condition except greens. They are under repair.
Always a good time at Marcus Pointe!
My favorite course in the Pensacola area! Great course, friendly staff and nice golf carts! Several greens had some new sod and hole 15 had a temporary green; didn't bother me as they are actively working to keep this course in great shape. It seems like every course has raised their rates in the past year, which is unfortunate but I'm sure is necessary given the economy.
Marcus
Over half of the greens destroyed. Fix that & its the best course around
June 29 18 holes
Well, the greens are struggling. Most all have burnt, dead, bare spots and not just a few spots. We've taken to moving our ball to a line that's real grass and not the bad spots. Several tee boxes are suffering the same condition.
They have enough water jugs but don't always keep them filled and rarely with cold water. They offer bottled water at the first tee and if you scoop some of the ice with the bottles, you can reasonably stay hydrated. We'll play it again, but only at the Golf Now discounted rate.
Post heavy thunderstorms
The maintenance staff did an excellent job with the short amount of time to clean up and ready the course for play. There were numerous heavy thunderstorms late night and early morning with high winds and heavy rain fall. This course would rate 5 star otherwise. Pace of play was a little slow but you just can't control mother nature.
June 17 round
The past month has not been good on the greens. We could only speculate the combination of aeration, fertilizer, dry hot days and maybe not enough watering during those dry days caused the greens to have dead spots that the heavy rains then washed out making for some terrible conditions. Not all the greens, but more than a few. The staff, as always, are wonderful and friendly.
Course Layout is fun. The Greens are still recovering
The Course Layout is fun with good grass in the fairways and rough. The Greens are still recovering for being punched so they are a little inconsistent. For the cost, it is hard to find a better course in the Pensacola area.
Great Course but Greens are Recovering from Maintenance
This course is a fun course with a nice layout. They have done a lot of work with the greens so they are not in good shape but they should come back very well.
June 4 round
Fairways have been plug berated but still quite playable. Greens sanded and fertilized but, again, playable. Needed and appreciated maintenance that does not detract from the course.
Worth every penny
I golf every year with my wife and two young kids on vacation. This year we picked this course and were paired with two strangers who were awesome to play with. Fairways were great, greens were great, staff and regular members were great. We felt welcomed. That’s not always the case with young kids. Price was the lowest I could find around Pensacola as well.
Greens
Continued improvement's expanding greens. Fairways continue to improve, even some areas that have been overlooked for a number of years are being addressed. Greens were the slowest I have played on this course in a couple of years, maybe due to the freeze this past January and the expansion of some Greens. Still in overall great condition.
Great value for the price. Greens have significant undulations. Fun, in great shape for the price point. Great facilities
