Marcus Pointe Golf Club

The course has a great layout. The greens were OK except a couple that had numerous patches. It is very playable even with the thin fairways. The greens are faster than one would think and hard to read. The greens are sloped with few flat ones. The layout is great and the traps are average. We enjoyed our round and may play again. The staff is great. We played in just over 4 hours behind a group of older seniors. We are 77 so we were OK with their pace. I would recommend the course which is located in an older subdivision with great looking houses. It was a good experience.

Greens pretty rough. Too much other grasses growing into the green.

Still struggling with greens. Not worth the $75 price tag at this time.

Overall the course was a lot of fun to play and the staff was extremely nice and friendly. The restaurant was good and the cart girl was making rounds frequently. Overall we had a great time. The greens however were in pretty rough shape. I'm not sure if they are being redone to some extent or if they are always like that, but for the price of the round, I'd expect better or a discounted rates until they are done.

Only played her because it was $40 on Golf Now. Otherwise the price is way too high. Greens are getting better but still too many patches covering them up and pins were set directly in the path of them. Got behind two old walkers that didn’t seem to care to let me play through even tho the Marshall saw them and did nothing. The pace of play is way too slow especially when they allow a group of teenagers to play in a five some. Lower the rates and get rid of slow play and this course could be decent.

Course is always a challenge but greens are pure sand and fast with patches of sod all over them. Definitely not with $60+ Should be around $35-$45 most.

I thought this was over priced given the course condition.I may be spoiled playing at my home course Cypress Creek in Cabot AR, we have pristine conditions. This course had patches on just about every green, and they would for sure alter your putts. The fairways also had huge patch places and overall the grass was pretty sparce in lots of places. I would normally expect to pay about $35.00 to play a course of this caliber. We paid $51.00 through Golf Now. I will not be back to this course when we vacation every year in Orange Beach.

Moved here in 1990 and been playing here the entire time. Great course and the staff members are incredible. fairways are great and the greens are being repaired as I speak. I see the repair work coming along fine. Gou there to enjoy a great round of golf.

Even green was covered with large patches of sod laid on top of the playing surface. Unbelievable.

The round should have been free.

The greens have sod and sand placed in scattered areas on every green. The marshall approached us asking us to pickup the pace on hole #4 after waiting on the maintenance crew on #3 hosing down the #3 green and again after #4 hole. We waited on the maintenance crew on #4 as well. Someone needs to get in touch with the grounds crew and Marshalls. Very disappointed with Marcus pointe.

Course in good condition except greens. They are under repair.

My favorite course in the Pensacola area! Great course, friendly staff and nice golf carts! Several greens had some new sod and hole 15 had a temporary green; didn't bother me as they are actively working to keep this course in great shape. It seems like every course has raised their rates in the past year, which is unfortunate but I'm sure is necessary given the economy.

Over half of the greens destroyed. Fix that & its the best course around

Well, the greens are struggling. Most all have burnt, dead, bare spots and not just a few spots. We've taken to moving our ball to a line that's real grass and not the bad spots. Several tee boxes are suffering the same condition.

They have enough water jugs but don't always keep them filled and rarely with cold water. They offer bottled water at the first tee and if you scoop some of the ice with the bottles, you can reasonably stay hydrated. We'll play it again, but only at the Golf Now discounted rate.

The maintenance staff did an excellent job with the short amount of time to clean up and ready the course for play. There were numerous heavy thunderstorms late night and early morning with high winds and heavy rain fall. This course would rate 5 star otherwise. Pace of play was a little slow but you just can't control mother nature.

The past month has not been good on the greens. We could only speculate the combination of aeration, fertilizer, dry hot days and maybe not enough watering during those dry days caused the greens to have dead spots that the heavy rains then washed out making for some terrible conditions. Not all the greens, but more than a few. The staff, as always, are wonderful and friendly.
