Rough shape
Greens were punched but there wasn’t any notification online. Fairways were patchy and not mowed in a while. The last time a played the course in March it was in much better shape.
Aerification ruin
Nice course but the Aerification ruined the day. Would have been nice to know about the course condition before booking. Other course list this maintenance when it is a factor.
Even aerated
What a wonderful track. Fairways were amazing, tee boxes were fantastic. The greens were sandy but even this did not take away from this round. Great job Water Oak.
Pace of play
Good course, friendly staff but pace of play needs to be monitored closer.
Interesting course to play in very good condition
We played early in the morning so with only a twosome in front of us we played it in less than 3 hours. The tee boxes are good, the fairways are well kept and the greens are great. Pretty fast with some ondulations. Not many sand traps but well raked with enough sand in them to allow good shot making. Enjoyed playing this course and will return.
Clubhouse staff need better training
I decided to take my wife to this course because I had played it before for her first round of golf. She was told she could not play because she was out of dress code, even though she was in modern women’s golf attire, very modestly covered and dressed. I was not very pleased since I had booked on GolfNow and it was a hot deal. There was no refund that I was able to get. They told us that she could buy a different shirt for sale in the shop. A $75 shirt. Finally, they gave me a rain check for us to come back. We decided to come back today, which the gentleman told us today they should have given us a warning if she was “out” of dress code. Then they forced us to rent a second set of clubs for my wife when she has only practiced and used mine. They forced us to pay for it, or we would not let us continue. None of these “guidelines” were made aware to us, and they did not show us where it says it in their rule book. Honestly, such a horrible experience and a waste of my Saturday morning with my wife and such a bad repeat experience today. I would not recommend dealing with these people. I never write reviews nor do I hardly ever have bad experiences because I am a very understanding person. In the clubs that they gave us for her as the rental were drastically too short, and she could not even use them.
The groundskeepers in the cart workers were excellent the clubhouse workers zero stars
Nice course
For all the rain from Hurricane Debby the course was fairly dry! The course was in good shape and the greens rolled smooth! The maintenance crew was out working hard to keep the course in good shape!!
I will play it again
Beautiful course. Fairways are a bit narrow but the course is in great shape.
Fun until the rain and lighting
Course was playing well but slow. Then one horn due to lightning but sat and waited for resume play horn. No other horns sounded so I played on. When I returned the cart I was asked if I had heard the horn. My response was yes, I said I waited for follow up horns and none sounded so I played on. I was informed one horn stated return and end round. I mentioned that is not how the horns are and they never sounded #3 horn to end play or #2 to resume play. I was looked at like I had just annger the world. However if you work a course, learn the horns !!!
Great course, better value for the money
The course was is great condition and greens rolled true. Course layout was fun to play and had surprising elevation changes that gave some personality to the course and kept it enjoyable! Staff was friendly and helpful for the first time at the course. Pace was as expected as 10AM start on a Saturday. Parking lot was full of the locals and made it fun and enticing to go to the 19th hole after the round!
Must play
The course is in very good condition,I play here frequently and with the recent rains it has really helped all. Bunkers are not the best but you can still play them.
Overall I would recommend to give it a play!
Pace of play
Sending out to many singles and doubles. Not pairing people up. Last three times I have played here, have had to wait for group in front of me to tee off on same hole. No one monitors pace of play.
