Good value.
The city keeps the course in good condition. With three sets of nine holes, it is easy to obtain a tee time and maintain a reasonable pace of play.
Nice Experience
This was my first time playing this course and it was well worth the trip. I was able to get a pretty good deal through golf now and went with a friend who is familiar with the course. First, the club house and facilities are very nice. The people were very welcoming and friendly. Next, the driving range. It is ok. It is very short. I was not able to hit much more than a 7 iron. No driver warm up for sure. Not a huge deal to me though as I am more concerned with just getting the muscles warmed, not particularly to practice a particular club. Finally the course. There are 3 nine hold courses so they tell you which courses to play if you are doing 18 holes. The course is in good shape and challenging. The fairways are cut a little short for my liking but overall not too bad. The greens are in good shape and are maybe a little slower than I am used to but they roll good. The biggest negative is the course markings. Trying to figure out where to go was a challenge. The signs to guide you around the course from one tee box to the next were horrible. Once you figure out where you are going however it is a pleasurable course to play. Our only problem was the foursome in front of us for about the first 7 or 8 holes. Very slow, waiting for each member of the group to hit then drive to the next ball and wait and so on. Finally the ranger came along and talked to them and that helped a little and then they let us play through on the 9th so we were able to get ahead of them and it was clear sailing from then on. After the first 18 we stopped and had lunch and then inquired about playing 9 more on the third course we had not tried yet. We were able to add that on and play 9 more for a bonus to the day. All in all it was a great day. I would highly recommend giving this course a try if you are in the Lakeland area and have never tried it.
picturesque course
This is a municipal facility with a confusing layout. There are 3 nines that crossover each other so you really have to pay attention to the signs pointing you to your next hole(although those can be deceiving). The conditions are alright but what you might expect at a municipal, bad traps poor drainage but greens are good tees are ok.The reason I give this a poor review is the staff Pro shop attendant no greeting just what do you want..The starter was rude barking at me because I didn't know my cart#,shouting to where to go.Played with another single on front then paired with another twosome on back. Then when we turn we're stuck behind his buddies playing the wrong tees and playing slower than turtles. This course would probably be better played in the summer as it seems it gets plenty of play but with shorter par 4's in the peak season there will be lots of waiting especially if the starters friends are clogging up the course. There are better courses in the area with better prices.
Excellent Course to play at anytime
This has been my home course for the last fifteen plus years I've been playing golf. The staff have always been a pleasure and professional. The course is well maintained and it's a rarity to see it not so.

This course was in good shape.
The course was in good shape, except that some greens were a bit rough and not consistent for speed. I enjoy the course generally.
Walter, thanks for the positive feedback and we appreciate you playing CHGC. We have been overseeing the golf course the past 3 weeks (9-holes per week) with Winter Rye Grass to protect the Bermuda grass over the Winter months. It takes about 2 weeks for the rye to grow in and get it mowed to heights we want for green speed. Come back and see us after the New Year. Thanks Brock Witmyer (GM)

Cleveland Heights
fairways spotty condition. Geens were very good. Course grooming is fine not contributing to lost balls.
Thanks RK for the positive feedback. We are hoping to do an irrigation renovation next Fall that will improve fairway surfaces. Glad you had a good golf experience at CHGC and we look forward to seeing you in the future. Brock Witmyer (GM)

Best Ever
Cleveland Heights has never been better. A municipal course that over the last 5 years has experienced its ups and downs. This year starting late October several Canadian Snowbirds arrive and play many rounds Monday, Wednesday's and Friday's. The course is in the best condition we have ever experienced and the staff from Keith, Brock, Ken and Denise treat us so well. Keep it up and special congrats to the course superintendent. Don

No surprises

This is a old course that has 27 holes. Not much to look at as far as beauty goes, but still fun to play. They finally have gotten their greens into decent condition.

Starter problem
We love coming to Cleveland Heights. The coarse is great for the prices. The only downside is the pace of play is hit or miss and it’s not the players fault usually. The starter John has sent, on numerous occasion, groups of 5 off at the same time. Even pairing up our group of 3 with a twosome, unprofessional and bush league. Every member of the staff is friendly and helpful except for him. Might not be worth the money anymore.
Thanks for the feedback and sorry for the negative experience that you had. Please stop by my office to discuss next time you are here. We do not have a John as a starter, we have a John in the cart barn. I look forward to meeting with you to rectify any issues that you have moving forward. Sincerely, Brock Witmyer (GM)
Nice course the greens were to hard but the Pro shop said they were going to The Fiamm but with the hurricane come through
The Fiamm but with the hurricane come through Still like playing there very much.
Thanks for the feedback. We had greens aerifications scheduled at the end of September, but we were unable to do them with losing 70 trees and much debris from Hurricane Irma. We have rescheduled starting November 6th. Hope to see you back soon. Brock Witmyer (GM)
