Nice Course
The staff was friendly and the facility was great. We liked the course except that the fairways were somewhat bare, greens were in good shape and we played 18 in around 4 hours. There is some confusion regarding the three nines come together. Better sign direction would help. Would definitely play the course again.
Nice course, confusing layout
This was our first time at the course. Course was fine with decent course conditions and some challenging holes (we're certainly not pro's!). However finding the next hole tee off was difficult due to lack of or poor signage signage and long distance between greens and tee blocks. The course layout on the scorecard was too small to read and we got lost several times trying to find the next tee block. We noted a few other people with the same issue. I would still recommend the course.
Thanks for the feedback Earl. We will evaluate the signage and the positioning of it. Glad you enjoyed the golf course and look forward to seeing you in the future.

Not bad for a public course
27 holes. Tee boxes were the best feature of course. Fairways were ok. Greens a little hard and very slow. Played A to C. There were a couple holes where you went cross country from green to next tee. But with a cart no big deal. Tough walk though. Drove 45 min. to play. Not sure I'd do that again.
Thanks for your feedback. The over seed in the Winter months slows the green speeds down. We must over seed to protect the Bermuda grass during the Winter and we also do over 62,000 golf rounds annually. Having that amount of volume we must protect the greens. We do not over seed fairways, so the Bermuda grass goes off color during the Winter months. We hope to see you in the Spring and Summer here at CHGC. Thanks Brock Witmyer (GM)
greens
fairways need help,,,but because of the way the greens are protected by bunkers makes it a really cool course,,some of the greens need help too,,your drive can be very imporant for your next shot to the green,,if not then your shot to the green has to be over a big bunker,,,even some of the little par 4s can be tougher thank you think,, your thinking birdie ,, next thing you know your trying to par,,its a fun course,,
Johnny, thanks for the feedback and glad you enjoyed your golf experience at CHGC. We do not over seed fairways in the Winter time, which causes the Bermuda grass to go dormant and off color due to cool temperatures especially at night. The turf is still strong and healthy. We are addressing those couple of areas on a couple greens. The Heights is a fun place to play golf and we look forward to seeing you in the future. Brock Witmyer (GM)
Great course
Excellent course
Greens were slow but manicured perfectly
If I have any complaint it would be that the sand trap I visited was packed and extremely hard.
I played A & C (don't know the names). This was my first round there and is now my favorite.
Tony, A course represents Azalea / B course represents Boganvilia / C course represents Camelia Native flowers to Florida.
Thanks again
Tony, thanks for taking the time to share the good experience that you had at CHGC. Our greens roller was down and we have rectified that issue. The storms and bad weather we had this past Sunday into Monday morning affected course conditions and we were unable to mow greens on Monday. We received a much needed 1.5 inches of rain in less than 24 hours. We are glad that CHGC has moved to the top of your golf course list and we want to remain there. Please stop in and say hello on your next visit. Brock Witmyer (GM)
We appreciate the positive feedback and glad you enjoyed your golf experience at CHGC. Hopefully CHGC will be your regular golf destination. Stop and say hello next time you are at CHGC. Brock Witmyer (GM)
Cleveland Heights is one of my favorite courses in Lakeland ... a very good value

Thank you for the feedback and positive comments about CHGC. We are proud of the facility and want to keep getting better. We have a great team here at CHGC. Thanks for the support and we look forward to seeing you in the near future. Brock Witmyer (GM)
We appreciate your feedback and hope to see you back soon. We have just completed the over seed applications on all three courses, which affects playability. Have a great Holiday Season. Brock Witmyer (GM)
Fine muni
Visitor playing course for first time. This is a course of which Lakeland residents should be proud. Played A&C. A=8/10. C=6/10. Overall 7/10. (C just reopened after maintenance. Some T's/greens could have used closer mowing.) Roomy off T's. Nicely designed golf course. Conditions overall were good. Hot deal made this very affordable, but paying regular price would still have made the round a good value.
Thanks for the positive feedback. We are very proud to have one of the best municipal facilities in Central Florida and statewide. We look forward to your return to CHGC. Stop in my office and say hello. Sincerely, Brock Witmyer (GM)
Great Course
The course was in great shape, the greens were rolling great also
Thank you for your feedback and positive comments. We have a great hard working team and we always want to keep improving. Next time you are here stop by and say hello. Thanks Brock Witmyer (GM)
Disappointed
Greens were being redone two years ago when I was last there. Still as bad as ever.
Thanks for your feedback. I would like to meet with you or call me to discuss your issues with the greens. You can reach me at 863-834-2379. We started over seeding on the C greens yesterday and we will do the other two courses over the next three weeks. Playability is interrupted during the over seed process, but come back at be my guest in January. Thanks Brock Witmyer (GM)
overall
good course but club house had nothing to offer as for as drinks, food tv, camaraderie, etc
Thank you for the feedback and kind words about the golf course. We are very sorry about the food and beverage operation being closed. We are very excited and look forward to our partnership with Bosko's Clubhouse Grill and they will be opening at the end of November. There has been a few challenges in getting the operation opened the main one has been issues with getting the point of sales system set up. We would really like to see you in the very near future and stop in to say hello to me. Sincerely, Brock Witmyer (GM)
Great course
This is a great course right in the middle of Lakeland. A fairly open course but has alot of elevation changes and fast greens. there are 3 nine hole courses. I played the A&B courses. I really liked this club and will play it again when i am in the area.
Thanks for the feedback and we appreciate the kind words. Please stop by and say hello when you come back. Brock Witmyer (GM)
Poor condition
I have played the course a number of times and this was the worst I have seen the greens, they were woolly and very slow.
On finishing the round there were no catering facilities
A good day spoilt.
Thanks for your feedback. We aerified all three courses in the last 3 weeks of September, unfortunately maintenance practices affects playability throughout the year. We also received 19 inches of rain and a hurricane during September. Please come back out and see us as the facility is in great shape and be my guest for the day. Brock Witmyer (GM)
Excellent course
Course was very wet and the 2nd nine had the greens aerated which made the putting bad.
The restaurant was closed and after a "hot" day, nothing to drink! Was very disappointed.
Thanks for the feedback. You are correct as we have aerified greens the past three weeks. September has been very wet as we have received 16 inches of rain since September 1st. We are very sorry for the inconvenience on the food & beverage operation, but drinks and snacks are available in the pro-shop. We have partnered with Bosko's Clubhouse Grill to run the food & beverage operation and they will be open on October 10th. Please come by in the near future and say hello. Thanks Brock Witmyer (GM)
Getting better
I've played here several times over the past several years. It's not my first choice, but the price is usually good and pace of play is usually ok. I've been there when I wanted to leave because of the conditions, but they seem to be working hard to improve. The layout is interesting and you need to hit various shots. Not real long, but who needs that?:) 3 nines make for a nice "new" look each time. I'll play there a couple of times before the end of the year.
Thanks for your feedback Tim. We have aerified greens the past three weeks. It has been one of the wettest Septembers as we have received 16 inches of rain since Hurricane Hermine on September 1st. Mowing the facility has been a challenge being so wet. We have been working hard to keep getting better. Come back soon as things are looking very good as we head into Fall. Stop by and say hello next time you are here. Brock Witmyer (GM)
things are getting better but still some work to do
Played A and C sides.
Tees and fairways fine.
A side greens recently aerated and top dress so very slow.
C sides greens mostly good . Some repair patches on some of them.
Bar and restaurant closed for renovations.
Thanks for the feedback. We did aerify A greens last week, doing C greens this week and B greens next week. We are looking to have the food & beverage service open by October 3rd. We have partnered with the Bosko Family (Beef O' Brady's) to run the operation. It will not be Beef's, but separate food & beverage operation. Thanks for the support. Brock Witmyer (GM)
Worst greens i have ever seen
The greens have sheets of sod on them half of them are not laying flush over 80 percent of greens have them sometimes half of the greens are covered by them was a waste of my money and time!
Thanks for the feedback. You are correct as we just sodded some areas on the greens. We are in the process of topdressing, rolling and lowering green heights for better playability. Come back and play in a few weeks and be my guest, call me at 863-834-2379. Brock Witmyer (GM)
Mr. Newman, thank you so much for the feedback. We do not over seed the fairways with Rye grass in the Winter like we do with greens, tees, approaches and collars. The Bermuda grass in the fairways goes dormant and off color, but playability is not affected. We will evaluate the signage and the positioning of it. Thanks again and we are glad enjoyed your golf experience at CHGC. We look forward to seeing you soon. Brock Witmyer (GM)
