Need a ranger
Had some slow players who just needed to be encouraged by a ranger but there was none to be found. Greens incredibly slow by Florida standards.

Found the course in overall good condition. The tee area where in bad condition. Too sandy.

Steady getting better
This was my home course in high school. Since it was bought out it has steadily been getting better. Still needs a few weeks to fully recover from the aeration and sanding but it is definitely getting better! Keep up the good work!

Aeriated greens were tough to play

Over-sanded greens
We had just received over an inch of rain the previous day which helped with the seasonally drive weather. The ball still rolled forever in the fairways. The sand on the greens constituted a two stroke putting rule. In a couple of weeks it’ll be great again. I love this course and they’re friendly staff. Note: The starter is a stickler for staying on the cart path around the par threes. 😆

Brilliant Fun
We got a hot deal tee time and immediately say this course of fantastic value for money. The course is not in pristine condition but this didn’t spoil the round as all holes were challenging and interesting. I’d definitely be playing here again.

Rating
The course has a very nice design with doglegs and tree lined fairways. As have many Florida courses the lack of rain and Covid related issues the conditions on course are below expectations. That said the course has wonderful hole design and deficiencies can be corrected quickly if the money and expertise are available!! Good luck with those issues and we hope to replay this course under perfect conditions!!!

Pace of play
Not to nit pick, but our 4 some was behind two 2 somes, I realize that both 2 somes
Live on property, and apparently did not want to play together, but on weekends in prime time, they need to be hooked up as a 4 some..it was incredibly slow and not enjoyable. Other than that, there were no issues...

Course Needs a Lot of Help
The golf course is a great layout in a nice community, but needs lots on top of lots of course maintenance and love. Lots of unmown, or not recently mowed areas. Also, several already dead fairway patches and dead green patches all thru the course. I know it hasn't rained lately, but has anyone heard of a sprinkler system? Its the heart of the season here in Florida and this course looks like its been thru a war. Other courses in the area have had the same conditions and are in tons better shape than Schalamar Creek. The grass for the greens has never looked worse, they have never taken from its revamp a few years ago and need to be scrapped and started over with new turf and seed. This course could be a gem of the community if somebody put time, love, and moreover money for upkeep into the maintenance of the course. Bad look for the rest of 2023 and not sure I will be back anytime soon. Get it together Schalamar Creek!

A very nice course
This was second time playing at Schalamar Creek. The course has some difficult or tight areas on some of the holes but that can fun or frustrating depending on your level of play. The course seems to be in pretty good condition. The odd part to me is the driving range where you drive the balls out into the water. But still a nice place to play.
