Course Conditions are Improving!
Back in May when I played here, the greens were in terrible condition...seemed to be transitioning to either new greens or a new grass type. Well, the greens have improved and are taking shape for the season. I was impressed...looking better than some of the other local golf options in the area. Keep up the good work...we will be back.

Great course for the money
Great course for the money. The greens were a little rough but the fairways were in great shape. Pace of play was definitely an issue but everyone was friendly. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. A great place to get out and practice.

watch out for the fire ants
the course layout is perfect but the hills of fire ants may surprise you when you step on one. Overall I enjoy the course and would recommend it for an enjoyable day of golf.

The course is creative and some challenges
Course has good greens and a creative layout.
The day I played the course was still recovering from rains and some pending maintenance which caused fairways to be less than manicured.
For a course that is inside 6,200 from Tips, it showed a lot of character and promise.
I plan to definitely come back when the course is back to its normal conditions.

Good Value
The course can be a little unforgiving, some fairways will require a good bit of accuracy. The greens are on par with similar courses. The one downside is that the course does not hold water very well. Be prepared for soaked fairways if moderate or heavy rains were recently passing through.

A good challenge!
Schalamar has always been one of my favorite courses to play around Lakeland. For the long hitters, its a great course to work on your long irons or fairway woods off the tee. It is definitely a play the course type of golf course, short, tight and curvy.. If you like a challenge, this is definitely a course you want to try.

Good value
The course layout was good. Even with the frequent rains, the fairways seem to be capable of holding a fair amount of water. As I found with most courses this year, the only thing really lacking was the quality of greens and tee off boxes.

Round was ok
Course not in great shape. Very wet and muddy. Greens not well maintained. Fairways not great either. Pace of play was very fast though and staff was friendly. Short course with the opportunity to go low, but conditions just not up to par.

Fun short course
The course greens were worn but are going to be rebuilt.
Enjoyed the ability to use all the clubs in my bag because of the layout. Nice people and well-spaced tee times.

Course is in terrible shape
Coarse is in terrible shape. You can not tell where the rough /fairway / tee boxes start and end. All crab grass.

Just okay
Half of the greens have bare spots on them and half of them also have weeds that are just mowed over on them. It makes for very erratic putting. Fairways are mostly wild grass or crabgrass. I like the layout of the course but some of those negatives make it difficult for me to go back there.

Nice little course
Course conditions were pretty good considering we've had a long drive spell. A couple of greens had some damage but that shouldn't take away from the course. You have to hit a lot of different shots with some water and some woods. It's not a long course but it can be demanding. We'll play it again soon.

Good course
The greens were my only big issue with this course needs some cleaning up, has lots of weeds on the greens. Othere than that the tee boxes and fairways were in good enough condition to not be any problems.

Always most enjoyable
Everything was fine except the greens need work. Lots of weed clumps and quite bumpy. Putt’s did not roll true. Otherwise a good golf experience. Keep up the good work.
