The ninth hole runs only 339 yards, but the dangerous approach must cross a pond. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 03/13/2026

Seen from behind the green, a view of the 13th. This par-3 measures 125 yards and plays to an island green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 03/13/2026

Seventeen is a fine driving hole. Off the tee is trouble both right and left, and the fairway narrows after the prime landing zone. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 03/13/2026

If one hole is most likely to wreck your card, it is the par-4 18th (index #1), whose large water hazard threatens both the drive and second shot. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 03/13/2026

Judging by its pancake-like shell, this appears to be a Florida softshell turtle, who was traveling cautiously from pond to pond across the eleventh tee. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 03/13/2026

A superlative short par-3, the fourth features a raised and well-contoured green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/20/2026

At the par-4 tenth, it takes a straight drive to find this narrow fairway. It’s not unusual, though, to find the water. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/20/2026

Fifteen just may be the finest par-3 at Schalamar. Measuring as long as 224 yards, it demands an excellent shot for a GIR. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/20/2026

2nd Hole: Par-5, 519 yards: The driving zone allows for a slashing drive off the tee, but on the second shot (viewed here) the fairway narrows like an hourglass. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/18/2025
-
6th Hole: Par-3, 180: A lengthy bunker nabs misplayed shots to the right and front of green six, as seen from the woodland. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/18/2025

9th Hole: Par-4: Although 339 yards, this index 6 hole challenges you on every shot. A hook off the tee spells deep, watery trouble. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/18/2025

Running as long as 400 yards, the 10th threatens not only with a daunting array of hazards—water, sand, trees, OOB–but also a tight fairway. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/18/2025

This large pond encircles what is virtually an island green at the par-3, 125 yard thirteenth. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/18/2025

The # 6-index hole, fourteen features a brilliant design, a trio of well-placed bunkers, and a long, lateral water hazard. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/18/2025

The fairway so wet they could not mow. If you hit the ball in the fairways you couldn't even find the ball and it was littered with trash.
This course needs to be kept like their sister course that is owned by the same individual. Big Cypress on 98 North is far superior in condition to this course, but is owned by the same man. If attention to detail was taken at Schalamar Creek, it could be just as enjoyable to play as Big Cypress. Tees and greens lack either money spent on them or knowledge of how to care for them.
Thank you for coming out to Schalamar Creek and having so much fun. See you back out here soon !
Great tight course
Never played before and glad I did. Signed up to be with another group but they never showed so played as single.
This was ok but please foursomes let a single play through. Some did but one group of very slow men never slowed us through even though they knew I was there on a par three.
Play this course it is in good shape great greens and good for your game. Starters were some of the nicest I have ever had in Florida!!!
Course is in great shape and its a lot of fun to play. Thanks for coming out and looking forward to seeing you back out here soon.
Thank you for coming out to play Schalamar Creek. Looking forward to seeing you back out to play real soon !
One hour to play three holes!!!
No marshall, players hitting multiple balls off tee, three group backup on most tees, decided to leave after nine.
Great course
Greens are in great shape, very windy day with pace of play a little slower then I like.
Schalamar Is a Challenge
Very well conditioned course. Tight, with a good choice of tee boxes for your level of play. One of the best courses around when the weather is wet.
greens
greens have been redone. greens need more growing time extremely compacted.
Good Experience
Nice layout, a little short but the accuracy you need makes up for that.
Good condition compared Romany courses, greens good but need robe careful they don't lose them
All in all very good days golf
Enjoyable day
The day was very windy which made things a little difficult. Greens were fast and generally smooth. Fairways and tees a little dry. Staff was great.
Best Yet
We arrived for our 12:58 tee time an hour early and ate in their restaurant before we went out. The food was great and the staff was friendly. We were teamed with two gentlemen who were excellent company and made the round most enjoyable. The greens putted fast and true and the fairways were very good. there were water hazards and lots of alligators of all sizes. Pace of play was good and we finished in under 4 hours. A course I want to play again.
"BillandEdrie" Glad you came out and had a wonderful time. Looking forward to seeing you back out to play real soon !
Good for the price
Good course to play for the price. Pace of play was fine but we did wait some on each hole. Weather was just beautiful, 60 and sunny which to many would be cold but if you are from Minnesota - well you understand. Greens were fine
Appreciate you coming out on a "Cool Florida Day". Looking forward to having you back out soon before you head back up to Minnesota.
Beautiful Course!
This is one of the nicer and more challenging courses we have played in the Lakeland area! We were also delighted to be matched up with another couple and had a great day playing with them! The Fairways were top notch, the greens were quick and true. The staff in the restaurant were very friendly and attentative. One course not to be missed when staying in the area!
Greens little grass
This was a hot deal at $37.00 but not really.
The course still did not have enough grass and thus making the greens very fast with nothing to putt on. The fairways were a little better. The course does not provide a layout of the each hole on their score card, that would have been very helpful for a first time player even though they were at the tee boxes. There is a lot of water for a short course and especially when they are man made. I don't think that we would go back again.
Short and tight
Course is not long but it is tight. My golf buddy hit one of the homes that border the course. Greens are very nice and would recommend trying this course.
"Swizjr126" glad you had a good time. Your buddy is not alone !! Hope to see you back out soon ! Have a great day
"Robert9135568" This doesn't sound like Schalamar Creek. Would like to see you come back out and play another round of golf. Course is a lot of fun and has a lot of character. Hope to see you back out soon !
