Course in good shape..excellent value
Super great shape
This is the first time we play here….the conditions of the golf course are extremely well care, all greens and super nice and invite to enjoy more the golf course. All fairways are spectacular maintenance.
The conditions of the golf carts are 120% new…..We have play many golf course here in Florida but these golf course is by far the best including Disney do not compare to these Great Golf Course, even in Solivita the Oaks and Cypress do not compare by far to these super great conditions.
Friendly employees and the starter super nice professional person as well.
We will play again next week for sure and if you like to play in a different golf shape com to these one. You will have no regrets.
We are looking forward to you returning to play some more. Schalamar Creek is in great shape and is a wonderful layout. Lots of fun to play !! Everyone needs to come see for themselves. You will not be disappointed. GREAT TIME at Schalamar !

Short course with narrow fairways resulting in a fun, risk/ reward play. Several drivable par fours. The course is situated In a swampy area and tends to retain water, resulting in muddy playing conditions.

Course should have been closed to play.
Had to play 2-8, 17, 9, and start at 2 again. Course not mowed and roughs unplayable. If ball was not in fairway, you would lose it.
Looks like you visited Schalamar Creek in the middle of the tropical storm time line. Come on back out and take a look at the course Now !! All 18 NEW Greens are now OPEN!! See you soon.

This place is always fun to play, you can book a tee time for only $10.00 at golfnow, this is a great value for your money. Greens are in very good conditions, as well as the fairways. This is one of my favorite place to play. If you live in the Lakeland area and you haven't play here yet, you have been missing.

Shalamar Review
Beautiful setting. Currently undergoing significant upgrades. Only 9 holes open for play (2-8, 17, 9). some of the greens in very poor condition. all the greens very slow (you have to really whack the ball to get it to the hole, even going downhill). In a year or two this will probably be an excellent course.
Great things are happening out at Schalamar Creek. Golf course upgrades all over the course. Great things happening. Back side new greens being installed, Front side new greens now open.

Excellent course !! Take extra balls - some holes are challenging.

Great Course
We really enjoyed this course. Only issue is that it's 45 minutes from our home BUT, we do plan on playing there again. The staff/residents are friendly and the pace the great!! Had a great day out and the weather was perfect!!

Greens no good
All the greens needs work even the new one are in bad shape, hard to putt on but the rest of the course was good.

Greens are in poor condition and is a shame as this could be a great golf course. The staff in the pro shop are very nice. Golf pro had the blower on his back while I was there proving he does what it takes to keep things nice!!! Restaurant has great food and cold Ginger ales.......
Upgrades and improvements take a little time. Getting new greens and making upgrades all around the course. Its a great layout, come on out and see the changes. Appreciate the support.

Great course with moderate difficulty, Pro shop guys are very friendly and very accommodating. We arrived early and he mentioned he had a few spots open if you would like to go off earlier. That worked out great and we finished our round.... we went inside and had a great lunch. Great food and Great staff!!!!

great course and great people, but they lost there greens, greens are terrible, sad for such a great course
great course, great people, great golfers = a lot of fun !! New greens have been installed on the front side, looking for some warm weather to complete the grow in process. Going to be a lot of fun on these new greens real soon.
Senior course
9 of the greens where not cut latest day, slowest I have ever put on. Greens damage. Short holes, play on Gold tee if you are under 20 in hcp. You are not allowed to use the pool.
Schalamar Creek is a shot makers course that will test all of your golfing skills.
During the over seeding period each year the greens are not cut for a 2-3 day period to allow for the over seed to take and begin to grow. Sounds like you may have hit that time line. Hope to see you back out to play soon.
Course has deteriorated.
I used to look forward to playing here. Over the past year they removed the green surfaces and reseeded new greens. They were better before than they are now. The greens are covered with sandy patches and weeds. They are very bumpy. The greens on the front side had patches of shaggy grass that hadn't been mowed. It was impossible to judge how hard you had to hit to get through the few patches of grass. The greens on the back nine had been mowed, but otherwise were no better than the front nine. The fairways have been allowed to dry out so that they only have the appearance of grass, but are really all hard-pan. It is very disturbing that they have taken this local jewel and allowed to go to pot like this. It is now in as bad or worse condition than Sandpiper, Imperial Lakes, and Bartow. Very disappointing. It will be a long time recovering and restoring this course to a quality condition.
I would keep looking forward to playing Schalamar Creek. New greens have been installed and the grow in time has taken a little longer than expected. I wouldn't want to miss out on playing this local jewel with the new greens in place. Going to be a lot of fun.
Value for money
Payed around $25 for a round of golf fantastic value.there is something for everyone here,short holes long holes water holes only down side were the greens as they were in poor condition by I would not let that put you off true hidden gem.
Yes , Schalamar Creek is a true hidden gem. With the new greens project being this summer, Schalamar Creek is one of those courses that you must play. Its a shot makers course for sure. Hope to see you back out soon !!

The greens were in very bad shape. The were spots on the greens that were like little sand traps. they were very bumpy. The fairways were so so. About the same as most of the courses that I have played.
larrysalis, Appreciate you coming out to play Schalamar. The new greens have taken longer to grow in as expected. You could say some growing pains with the New Greens. Once the warm weather returns, the greens will be wonderful. Looking forward to having you come back out and test out the new greens real soon.
