The ninth hole runs only 339 yards, but the dangerous approach must cross a pond. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 03/13/2026

Seen from behind the green, a view of the 13th. This par-3 measures 125 yards and plays to an island green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 03/13/2026

Seventeen is a fine driving hole. Off the tee is trouble both right and left, and the fairway narrows after the prime landing zone. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 03/13/2026

If one hole is most likely to wreck your card, it is the par-4 18th (index #1), whose large water hazard threatens both the drive and second shot. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 03/13/2026

Judging by its pancake-like shell, this appears to be a Florida softshell turtle, who was traveling cautiously from pond to pond across the eleventh tee. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 03/13/2026

A superlative short par-3, the fourth features a raised and well-contoured green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/20/2026

At the par-4 tenth, it takes a straight drive to find this narrow fairway. It’s not unusual, though, to find the water. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/20/2026

Fifteen just may be the finest par-3 at Schalamar. Measuring as long as 224 yards, it demands an excellent shot for a GIR. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/20/2026

2nd Hole: Par-5, 519 yards: The driving zone allows for a slashing drive off the tee, but on the second shot (viewed here) the fairway narrows like an hourglass. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/18/2025
-
6th Hole: Par-3, 180: A lengthy bunker nabs misplayed shots to the right and front of green six, as seen from the woodland. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/18/2025

9th Hole: Par-4: Although 339 yards, this index 6 hole challenges you on every shot. A hook off the tee spells deep, watery trouble. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/18/2025

Running as long as 400 yards, the 10th threatens not only with a daunting array of hazards—water, sand, trees, OOB–but also a tight fairway. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/18/2025

This large pond encircles what is virtually an island green at the par-3, 125 yard thirteenth. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/18/2025

The # 6-index hole, fourteen features a brilliant design, a trio of well-placed bunkers, and a long, lateral water hazard. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/18/2025

Very accomodating
Course is very tight on several holes, and a few very funky holes. Not a great course for anyone who wants to drive the ball.
Schalamar Creek is for sure a shot makers course with a lot of character which brings a lot of excitement. Come on back out and give it another shot !
Thank You for coming out to play Schalamar Creek. Looking forward to your return soon.
Lots of Work Done - Has Definitely Paid Off!
Have played this course many times. They have finally completed all of their work on the greens. They are all perfect. The tees and fairways are also in wonderful condition.
Every single staff member we encountered was accommodating and friendly.
The pace of play was exceptional.
Overall this hidden little jewel in Eastern Lakeland area should be a must visit. It's a shorter course but this just means it will test every aspect of your game.
Course is in Great Shape. Glad you had so much fun ! Come on back and play again !
great course. new greens were perfect. Very friendly staff from the pro shop, to the restaurant, to the man taking care of the carts. Accurate shots are more important than big drives. Would recommend this course to anyone from beginner to seasoned golfer. Great course for the money!
Its a shot makers course with a lot of character. Lots of fun at Schalamar Creek. Glad you enjoyed your round of golf.

The course was in very good condition only wish we had enough time to play again. Ver friendly
Thanks for coming out. Looking forward to you coming back when you can.
Limited appeal
We enjoyed the round but that said we wouldn't play again. Although I'm not a long hitter with my drives (about 210 yds) I needed to play off the very back tees to avoid running into trouble on all par 4s. That shouldn't have been a problem except I feel the course has been designed to suit those playing off the forward tees as the landing areas are very narrow. The par 3 holes are nice and the par 5s fair but almost all par 4 holes are weak. The staff are very friendly and the carts are good. No beverage cart. Tee boxes good, fairways okay. Greens rolled well.
The course is a shot makers course for sure and it requires you to think about every shot. Lots of fun that way !
Good value on the weekend
Had a great time. We got there early but got right out. The starter was very friendly and helpful. We stayed for drinks and early supper. Limited menu but food was good and the portions large. Plan on going back soon.
Looking forward to you coming back out to Schalamar Creek.
Thanks for coming out to Play Schalamar Creek. Looking forward to your return.
Would like to invite you back out to Schalamar Creek to play some golf. Course is in very good shape. Come on back soon !
Good Find!!
Tried this course for the first time and must say its a great little track! It's a short layout but very tight layout. Only plays 6,000 from the back and 5,500 from the middle but don't let the yardage fool you! Can play tough if your not straight! Great for the money and nice area! Worth a try and would play again now that I'm familiar with the course a bit!
Glad you have a good time. Looking forward to you coming back out soon.
Excellent value
I liked the course. It was tight with lots of challenges. Greens were good and fast. Staff very friendly and helpful. All in all a good course.
Thanks for coming out to Schalamar Creek. Glad you enjoyed your round of golf.
Plays tougher than 6100 yards
This course is set in a 55+ community, and certainly caters to the residences there, with some residents "past their prime" of playing 7000+ yard courses. They do have many tee boxes, but the longest is 6100 yards. While I normally tend to play 6600 - 7000 yard courses, I found the black tees (6100 yards) quite challenging. From this distance, the landing area for 230-270 yard drives is quite narrow. So, choose your driver to risk the reward, or club down on a couple of the tee shots.
The approach shots are challenging on a few holes, and greens are excellent condition, and on many holes, green reading is a must.
A very pretty course. Greens in excellent shape. Folks are very friendly. Certainly recommend if in the area, and not in need of a long course.
Its a shot makers course with a lot of character. Lots of fun on every hole. Come see for yourself !
GREAT GREENS AND TIGHT.
THE NEW GREENS WERE GREAT. VERY TRUE AND SMOOTH. THE COURSE IS TIGHT,SO BRING YOUR LONG DRIVING FRIENDS WHO ARE NOT ACCURATE AND BEAT THEM EASILY. KEEP THE BALL IN THE FAIRWAY AND YOU WILL BE GREAT WITH A LOW SCORE,
Lets challenge those grip it and rip it golfers. Come on out for the challenge of a shot makers course. Lets have some fun !!
First Class
Played the course twice this month. This is a first class course and a first class operation. The fairways and greens were well maintained and not tricky. For an average golfer like myself there were not a lot of hazardous areas. Never went into the war we except for the island green and that was only the first time. The community was very well kept up and the people were very courteous and friendly.
Appreciate the support and glad you had a wonderful time. Looking forward to you coming back out to play some more !
Nice, short, shot maker course always in great condition.
Coarse was as expected great shape, but pace of play was horrible, we were a twosome behind a foursome that was oblivious to the fact they were slow. Two holes open in front of them after 5 holes. Never let us play through, ranger was no help.
Come on back out and we can pair you up to make the pace more enjoyable. Its a lot of fun playing Schalamar Creek. Come on back out soon !
Thanks for coming out to play. Looking forward to seeing you back out here soon !
Schalamar
Friendly and involved staff. Course in good shape. Some holes too narrow to the point of unfairness. Policy of letting golfers start their rounds on the back nine and making front nine golfers wait for multiple foursomes not good, back nine took over 2.5 hrs. Bathroom facilities on course the best i have seen, ballwashers on most holes
Thanks for coming out to play.
