Schalamar Creek Golf Club

Found a gem yesterday. A beautiful course within a nicely maintained retirement community staffed with very nice people. To top it off, we were paired with a couple of snowbird Schalamar Creek residents who made a wonderful day of golf even better. I play daily while in Florida, and this course ranked among my favorites.

I took a buddy from work and we played 18. The staff were super friendly. The driving range is unique in the sense that you are driving into a pond with floating range balls. The course was exceptionally groomed and the layout was challenging but fun. I look forward to going back and playing again sometime.

We teed off from the 10th tee, the greens were not mowed since they over seeded days earlier. Lots of water on the greens so when you putted you actually got a water trail. They knew the conditions but did not let us know prior to paying and arriving at the course. The front nine was better in that they mowed prior to us playing that side. They left the grass high due to the recent seeding.

Course makes up for lack of length by being very tight on several Fairways if we play here again I will make sure to play from the black tees.

Back nine holes are closer to a normal coarse for distance. We would play here again if it was closer to where we are staying or if we were going to be in the area but not nice enough for a long drive.

$25.00 all in is the maximum I would pay to play here.

Much improved compared to a year ago. New greens are very good and course condition has improved. They are also in the process of adding some new tees to lengthen the course.

They had a shotgun tournament in the morning , we had a 1:26 tee time,they 2 more little tournament that afternoon with people going off 1 and 10,we were put behind 6 foursomes of ladies,took 3 hours to play nine holes,tried to skip in front of the slowest foursome of all time,they went crazy and came after us when we were down the fairway , way to packed went home after 11 holes,also members don't like to see outsiders play their course went to range and all members just stared at us,not real inviting,need to let golf now know when they do all their tournaments,no fun paying for 18 holes and just playing 11 holes and members being rude,won't be back

Course in good shape..excellent value

This is the first time we play here….the conditions of the golf course are extremely well care, all greens and super nice and invite to enjoy more the golf course. All fairways are spectacular maintenance.

The conditions of the golf carts are 120% new…..We have play many golf course here in Florida but these golf course is by far the best including Disney do not compare to these Great Golf Course, even in Solivita the Oaks and Cypress do not compare by far to these super great conditions.

Friendly employees and the starter super nice professional person as well.

We will play again next week for sure and if you like to play in a different golf shape com to these one. You will have no regrets.

This is my second round onn this course through GolfNow. A value round for a good price.

Short course with narrow fairways resulting in a fun, risk/ reward play. Several drivable par fours. The course is situated In a swampy area and tends to retain water, resulting in muddy playing conditions.

Had to play 2-8, 17, 9, and start at 2 again. Course not mowed and roughs unplayable. If ball was not in fairway, you would lose it.

We really think the course is beautiful and are anxious for the other nine holes to open up

This place is always fun to play, you can book a tee time for only $10.00 at golfnow, this is a great value for your money. Greens are in very good conditions, as well as the fairways. This is one of my favorite place to play. If you live in the Lakeland area and you haven't play here yet, you have been missing.

Beautiful setting. Currently undergoing significant upgrades. Only 9 holes open for play (2-8, 17, 9). some of the greens in very poor condition. all the greens very slow (you have to really whack the ball to get it to the hole, even going downhill). In a year or two this will probably be an excellent course.

Excellent course !! Take extra balls - some holes are challenging.

We really enjoyed this course. Only issue is that it's 45 minutes from our home BUT, we do plan on playing there again. The staff/residents are friendly and the pace the great!! Had a great day out and the weather was perfect!!

All the greens needs work even the new one are in bad shape, hard to putt on but the rest of the course was good.

The day I played the course was in horrible condition would not play there again

Greens are in poor condition and is a shame as this could be a great golf course. The staff in the pro shop are very nice. Golf pro had the blower on his back while I was there proving he does what it takes to keep things nice!!! Restaurant has great food and cold Ginger ales.......
