greens needs work,slow, slow play,to may turnaments not enough open plays

very nice . scenic. saw a couple gators. had 4 tee boxes. good for all caliber of golfers greens were excellent . bunkers were not deep . could score better if played more ofte.

In Florida as escape from winter in DC. Perfect timing. Course is old but fun since it's mainly a target course and tests one's course management and accuracy.

By far the best we have played to date, pretty course, island green, great condition good food, friendly staff and very well priced.
The only negative is pace of play but that will not stop me from coming back a few more times before I go home.

When you initially look at this course you say, "Oh it's not very long" but it may not be long but it has many somewhat short par 4's that make yo leave the Driver in the bag. It's a fun course to play but don't hit the ball wayward because you'll be playing from the trees.

The greens were fair but had a lot of hidden breaks that can cause some three putts. My only complaint about the course is that some of the OB's are too close to the fairways not giving the golfer any kind of a bailout area.

Value wise it's a real good deal.

The course was very wet after several days of rain and it was cart path only. Even so we enjoyed the course and will return in dryer conditions.

Greens and fairways were in poor shape. Very short course. Only pulled out the driver twice.

Greens were fast, fairways were clean, and bunkers and rough were in good shape. Good course to play and not very long so a good score can be recorded without playing your best.

Great little place to clean shoe spikes… great idea.

This course is fair value for the money. Challenging, but if you are a long ball hitter be carefull. Check the yardage before selecting which tees to use. Great for beginners and old hockey players like me. Cheers

I have started to play more often at Schalamar Creek than any of the other moderate level courses in Lakeland due to the friendly people and decent course conditions. The course managers allow me to play alone or with other GolfNow players as I wish. I often play alone to speed my time on the course. Nobody minds or causes me to alter my plans. These are the friendliest people - Pro Shop, starter, and out on the course - you would ever want to be around. Always accomodating and always cordial. There are no snob members on this course. At least I have not run across any. Sure have at other courses that allow public play. The course is in decent condition. Some of the greens are a bit rough. Out on the fairways and off into the rough is well kept. The course is as challenging as you want it to be. The Gold Tees and Blue Tees are challenging. The White and Red Tees are excellent for seniors, women and youth. Plenty of water, sand and hazards. Play the course wise and you will enjoy the experience. That means don't take unnecessary risks and put your ball in someone's house. Club down off the tee and and you will still have a decent second shot.

VERY NICE GOLF THAT I WOULD RATE ABOUT 10 ON 1 TO 10 SCALE. THE COURSE IS WELL LAYED OUT AND STILL REQUIRES "PLACEMENT SHOTS ON MANY HOLES, HOWEVER THE HOLES ARE REASONABLE YARDAGE DISTANCE. THE COURSE INCLUDING GREENS AND FAIRWAYS WERE IMMACULATE. SANDS TRAPS WERE VERY WERE GROOMED.

THE STAFF AND THE FACILITIES WERE VERY NICE AND THE STAFFF WAS FRIENDLY AND COURTEOUS. GOLF CARTS WERE CLEAN AND RAN PERFECTLY.

I WILL TAKE MY FRIENDS TO PLAY THIS COURSE AND I KNOW THAT THEY WILL LIKE IT.

The course was fun to play. Greens (except for 1) were in very good condition. The course is a good test for all clubs in your bag.

8:47 tee time booked for fast play. Took 4 hours. Typical florida tree lined course in a sub-division.. Tight tee shots. A couple of holes, houses can be hit w/ wild errant shots. Fairways are plush. Roughs can be rough. Tee boxes also plush. Greens recently punched for aerification. Hairy & slow. Battery powered carts w/ windshields but no rain cover in back. All in all a fun course.

Been playing here for a couple of years now and I think this is one of the best courses in the area between Lakeland and Winter Haven. We had to take a short intermission because of rain, but it gave us a chance to grab a bite to eat in the clubhouse, they have very good food and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Had alot of fun, kind of course where one hole you can be on in 2 and others take a little bit more work to get it there. Over all the greens and fairways were well maintained. Had a good Sunday afternoon golfing.

This was my first time on this course it has narrow tree lined fairways but not a problem it has a fair amount of water but nothing to long to get over. All in all it was a fun course to play.

Course was showing it had been airfield but it actually had not so it was a pleasant surprise. The course is very short and is a shot placement type track. The greens were slow but smooth and it was in average shape for a public course. I got to play there for a ridiculously low price which made it even better. Try it out you will have fun!

This unsuspecting gem is trucked away geographically and with a name you'd almost overlook! They have a small but well stocked pro shop, a friendly coffe shop that later serves as a great lunch source, and a practice area for pre-game warm-up. Everyone I met made me wish I had time to play there again.
The course itself offers 3 sets of men's and 2 women's tee options. Sand, water and accuracy offer challenges throughout. I was surprised by how well the sand is maintained. Although not identical everywhere, it's playable regardless of where it's encountered. Nice quality electric carts with on-board divot repair material. Scorecard has accurate representation of hole layouts, but a GPS is always helpful. This course will be a 1st play ANYTIME I'm back in the area.
