The best in town
Pelican Point is truly a south Florida diamond. The course is always in pristine shape, the staff Bill, Travis and Brian are alway ready time help and serve you. The starters are friendly and never fail to get the groups out on time. I can’t say enough good about this course. It’s always perfect. Keep up the great work.
Meh
Layout was pretty standard Florida development golf. Conditions were acceptable for what it is. Go if you want a fairly nice day of pretty average golf. If you want an wow experience, go elsewhere. I would play it again if there wasn’t any other options and I wanted to play to practice for a top notch course. But I felt a bit ripped off at $60. Next time it would be $30 max or I would take a pass.
Exceptional Staff Great Layout
Consistency is the key to this terrific course. Fairway are excellent, greens very very good with the most consistent sand traps in the area. Play can be slow during the high season January to April with the snowbirds down to escape the cold. Great food and drinks at the Clubhouse.
First Class Operation
This is a course that is well managed and in superb condition. Consistent in every way. Course is well staffed and professional with 3 nine hole tracks, Preserve, Meadows and Hackett. Great layout for women with front tees that enable average golfers a nice distance break.
Money pit
Extrememly slow play. Twosomes and threesomes slow play down. They wait at your car for a tip and then the prices for non-members (snowbirds) go up monthly. Members, of course, have priority and contribute to the slow play. The two nine hole are fair but the creek course is far out and narrow.
Nice course for the price.
Wife and I were on vacation to Siesta Key and Pelican Pointe is less than 30 minutes away. They have 3 full 9s. Very nice neighborhood driving in. Clubhouse is a nice setup, water and ice machines right outside. Practice facility was a mess but it looked like they were working on it. Being August and off season, this was understandable. Course itself was in excellent shape, fairways were perfect, tee boxes in good shape and greens rolled true…especially considering the amount of rain we had in last few days. Fair layout but not too challenging, made for a nice day on vacation. Staff was very friendly. Price was very reasonable but again, it was off season. I do not know how much it runs in January. We will play the course again the next time we are down.
All 3 courses are great
I've played all 3 (9 hole) courses and I think they are all great tracts.Really good practice area to practice your long game as well as your chipping and putting. I've enjoyed playing here and would recommend it to others. They have a special $62 (plus tax) rate on Weds, Sat, and Sun plus a 9 hole rate of $35 plus tax if you only have time for 9.
