About
The South Course at BlackHorse is known for the sand quarry that was ingeniously worked into the layout by the design team. Particularly on the back side, the wetlands and sand features come into play prominently and create a totally unique setting for golf.
Getting there : Take Hwy. 290 west to the Spring Cypress exit. Go south (left) under Hwy. 290 to Old Hempstead Hwy. Turn right and drive .5 mile. Turn left on House & Hahl Rd. Then left on Mound Rd. and right on Fry Rd. The entrance is on the right.

Overrated
The courses can be challenging at times especially with a 20mph south wind which we had on Sunday. There wasn’t much grass in fairways and greens although rolled fairly decent, need some TLC.
I always feel like the staff at the bar treats the customers well. Everyone else tended to make you feel like you were invited though.
There are better courses in Houston and even the Cypress area that are better.
Bday boy
Never disappoints, course is excellent, not for the average golfer but fun. We had a foursome and we had our 15hc guy really struggle off the tee box but if you want a challenge the south course is it.
Bigben
The course and greens were in good shape especially for this time of year. Pace of play was good, the only complaint is our cart started loosing power around 6th hole but was replaced immediately on the turn. We will be back to play here.
Great weather at last
Beautiful weather .....Fast Greens ...The only issue: There was a tournament going on both sides of the golf course so we started a little late
Great staff and Greens Rolled Great!
I have played the North course a few times and decided to play the south. Much more challenging than the North as there appeared to be more tree-lined fairways. Greens were in great shape, and for February that is awesome! Will play it again, once I improve some.
Disappointed
For the price condition not good
fairway had too many hard pan spots needs work

Pace of play.
Followed a 5 some group. They started 45 minutes before we did. Caught up on the 10th hole and had to wait on them every hole thereafter.

Save Yourself
Save yourself! Take your $100ish and go somewhere else! Pace of play was TERRIBLE! Didn’t see a Marshall until #16. Players out there with their “coaches” having real time lessons was slowing *everything* down.
Multiple areas on the course that didn’t even have grass. Just solid dirt. Looks like it was once a nice course, but that ship has clearly sailed.

All around great experience.
Blackhorse doesn't disappoint. Very friendly and seamless check in. Range is great. The carts are comfortable and dependable. Course was in excellent shape from tee to green. Played in under 4 hours.

The pace of play was terrible. We had an average of three groups on each hold of the back 9.
