About
The South Course at BlackHorse is known for the sand quarry that was ingeniously worked into the layout by the design team. Particularly on the back side, the wetlands and sand features come into play prominently and create a totally unique setting for golf.
Getting there : Take Hwy. 290 west to the Spring Cypress exit. Go south (left) under Hwy. 290 to Old Hempstead Hwy. Turn right and drive .5 mile. Turn left on House & Hahl Rd. Then left on Mound Rd. and right on Fry Rd. The entrance is on the right.

Course in good conditions
Played on 10/7. Greens rolling very nicely. Fairways grass are tight not as plush as usual. Not much of a fairway rough as compared to other courses. Gps carts are too sensitive and can be annoying.
Probably the best public course in Houston
Beautiful landscape, nice greens, challenging tee shots, played in 3:24, which is unheard of in Houston.
Getting Better
Greens were in great shape, if they fix some of the dirt patches on the south course it would be top tier course in the city.
Blackhorse South
First time playing here. Course was challenging and fun, greens were in great shape.
Good course
The course was challenging with long and quirky par 4’s.
Great pro shop , great restaurants.
The golf course was not in good shape, cartpath only.
Nice value for a Saturday afternoon. Pace of play was 4 hrs.
Blackhorse South is a great track in NW Houston area.
The fairways looked good even in our recent extreme heat. Rough wasn't to punishing. Played here before and looked for balls the whole day when off the fairway. Greens were fast and true. We had a 4 some and enjoyed the pace of play. Staff was friendly as always. Definitely will be back with teeoff.com deals.
