The Quarry Golf Club
About
Located just minutes from downtown Canton, The Quarry Golf Club was built on the site of an old quarry that dates back to the 1800s. The location provides a dramatic landscape featuring cliffs that stretch over 100 feet, meandering streams, and deep-water lakes. The golf course utilizes the natural diverse features of the terrain, which lends each hole a unique character. Despite being an old quarry, there are many mature trees that line the fairways. Rocky outcroppings and native grasses border the gently undulating greens and water also comes into play frequently. It's a golf course that demands accuracy and you may find that you need to use all the clubs in your bag. The tee shots can seem intimidating initially but the landing areas are more generous than they appear.

This course is fantastic and in fabulous shape
I recently played The Quarry for the 3rd time and it was in the best shape I have ever seen it. We had gotten some rain the night before so it was a bit wet, but the course was beautifully manicured and the greens were near perfect. I dare you to find a better course with a $42 discount rate in the morning. The course can play as difficult as you want it to as it can stretch out to over 7,000 yards from the Gold tees. Lots of drastic elevation changes make it a real challenge and make from some beautiful scenery. The patio bar right on the 18th green is a great place to have some food and a drink after your round to watch everyone else challenge the tough 18th finishing hole. I would HIGLY recommend this course to any avid golfer.
Why play?
No carts available on arrival. Play was over 5 1/2 hours. At one hole, 4 groups were backed up. Greens we're beat up. Holes hadn't been moved in days. Pin placements were challenging. Having a "Hot Deal" was the only good thing about the day.
Favorite course in Ohio!
No question about it -- The Quarry has the most spectacular views in Ohio. Every hole is a postcard. Staff treats you like they really appreciate your business. Definitely a challenge from the tips. Loved it!
A unique setting for championship quality golf
Course was in great condition. Challenging for moderate to advanced golfers.
most scenic golf course
This course is as nice and as challenging as any private course i have played. The service and the employees are outstanding. The scenery and elevations are exceptional.
Beautiful course, too much for me though
First off, I only played this course because I got a good deal to play. Upon arrival, two young gentlemen came out and took out bags, put them on carts and gave us some waters. So far, a little too luxiourious for me. The carts had an excellent GPS system, but they carts turned off if you got too close to the green and would only go in reverse. That got annoying, but I guess you need that on a high end course. The course was beautiful, for mid-July, couldn't ask for more. As far as the food, a cart girl met us about every 3 holes, which is a good thing to me. The Hot Dogs at the turn were on white bread. When we were on the 18th green, another young gentlemen came out and cleaned out clubs while we were putting. Overall, great golf course, I'm just not used to the type of service we provided. I probably wouldn't come back again because of the price, but thats just me.
Mountain Golf in Ohio
Wonderful layout, and really fun to play. Speed-of-play really slowed down on the back9, but our group was just as guilty of others, as a golf ball search can take over just about any hole ........................unless you hit it long & straight. Staff is friendly, including Golf Pro Ted, starter Rich, bev-cart girl & club-cleaning cart girl @ #18 green. They all did a fine job, and this is just a fun course to play, even after a 90min drive.
Spectacular elevation changes & fun course
This is a "must play" public venue --very friendly staff, attentive service in ProShop, carts, starter, bev-cart, all the way to club cleaners @ 18-green. We know the course is awesome layout, with spectacular views, and just a lot of fun to play. The only negatives I could think of --besides a number of poor golf swings leading to stupid scores -- was a couple of the greens were chewed-up (#1 may be worst), a couple of pin-placements were ridiculous (front ledge #3 & 12). Afternoon pace-of-play was slow, but a lot of ball searching for most players.
Great golf - Very poor bar service
The course was beautiful, and our group really enjoyed the golf. The problem started after the golf at the Quarry's Granite grill. After golf, our group was hungry and thirty, so we decided to have lunch and drinks at the Granite grill. Initially, things were fine, we got our food and our first drinks with no problems. After our drinks were empty we sat quietly for five minutes with not one bit of attention from the three people behind the bar. Our threesome and one other person were the only people at the bar. Two of the people "working" behind the bar were talking to the "beer rep" sitting on the other side of the bar. I finally said "excuse me, we're ready for more drinks, if you're not too busy." The original bar tender turned with a scowl and and said "we're talking to the beer rep". I didn't care for her attitude and asked to speak to her manager. Surprisingly, the other woman behind the bar said she was the manager and continued to make excuses and attempt to justify why three of the four people at the bar were sitting with empty glasses for over five minutes. I finally asked to speak to her boss, she said "Ok I'll go get him" she never returned, and no one ever showed up. We finished our drinks, paid our bill, left a tip and left. A simple smile and a "Oh I'm sorry, we zoned out for a second" would've been great, but instead, we got nothing but bad attitude and attempts to justify the poor service. I sent several emails yesterday, and look forward to discussing this situation with someone from the group that owns the course.
First Visti
Beautifully maintained, scenic and challenging course. One of the best public courses I have played in Ohio. Worth the ride and money.
Quarry
Great course in great condition very friendly staff
Amazing day even tho cart path only
It rained a ton the days before so cart path only was expected . Staff were pleasant helpful . Couple younger workers helped us with our bags and gave uscomplimentary water and towel. The course and conditions are amazing . The clubhouse is spectacular and we had some beers and apps on the outdoor area which is best ive seen . Only thing i would reccomend would be to have a bigger more stocked pro shop. Honestly ive played many up scale courses and this one is my favorite
Pre-Father's day golf
Played this course the day before father's day. Really like this course. Got a "hot deal" otherwise I would never pay $70 to play this course. Course was pretty empty, but my tee time was 12:50 on a Saturday.
Picture Perfect Day.
expensive
OK here's the deal, this is a nice course but it is way to expensive. I can play windmill lakes or boulder creek, two courses that are just as nice for a cheaper price. Seven hills is just as nice as well. The Quarry needs to lower the greens fees and I guarantee they will make more money
Headed The Wrong Way
It has been a very tough Spring for course conditions. However this is a high priced course so one expects better than average conditions. The course was barely average based on other courses in the area and not as good as some. Greens were very bumpy and slow yet they were firm. Many areas are in need of repair. Don't know if this is due to weather or not. The layout of the course is great but the conditions leave a lot to be desired. I do hope the owners decide to spend some money and bring this course back to where it was the last time I played it three years ago. I was impressed with everything then.
Beautiful Coarse...will be back again!
This coarse was one of my favorites now. We plan to do this one again. It was a difficult coarse for a intermediate player but we enjoyed it just the same.
Hidden Gem
Played for the first time ever. Bit of a hike from Chardon, OH, but worth the drive. Great course, nice staff, challenging.
Pace of play was quick.
Driving range could use a bit of an upgrade, but overall, would go back whenever I had the chance.
This course will challenge your ego.
You better bring your A game if you are going to play the tips. Every hole is unique. A fun course don,t play skins.
Looks great, plays decent
I'm of the opinion that a course that chooses to charge greens fees in the top 25% of the local courses better have good greens. These greens left much to be desired. Inconsistent and mostly slow.
There are a few gorgeous looking holes. There are a few borderline gimmick holes. Playing it on a regular basis will save strokes. I lost a few strokes with poor positioning after what I thought was a good shot.
Not for the novice
Love the course layout and how well it is maintained. However, this course is not for high handicappers as it is very challenging and if the weather is not cooperating it becomes extremely difficult.
