The Quarry Golf Club
About
Located just minutes from downtown Canton, The Quarry Golf Club was built on the site of an old quarry that dates back to the 1800s. The location provides a dramatic landscape featuring cliffs that stretch over 100 feet, meandering streams, and deep-water lakes. The golf course utilizes the natural diverse features of the terrain, which lends each hole a unique character. Despite being an old quarry, there are many mature trees that line the fairways. Rocky outcroppings and native grasses border the gently undulating greens and water also comes into play frequently. It's a golf course that demands accuracy and you may find that you need to use all the clubs in your bag. The tee shots can seem intimidating initially but the landing areas are more generous than they appear.

Just Opened For The Season
The Quarry had just opened for the season when we played it. Thus, the fairways, greens and rough were still dormant and wet in many places. Yet, the course was fun to play and challenging. Given the very hilly terrain, it is a course one would might have to play twice, to play it well. The first time to learn the landing areas, the carries to the greens and the course overall. My playing partner and I also had a great lunch in the clubhouse and we are looking forward to our next round.
overpriced! i see it going broke if not catered more to average golfers
excellent conditions but not worth the price for Ohio courses in FL are nicer and not near as much to play I feel
ENJOYED THE COURSE VERY MUCH
for this time of year the course was in great condition. people in the pro shop very friendly.
Premium price - disappointing conditions
The Quarry is certainly a premium-priced track. So, what exactly do you get for your money? First off, a 5+ hour round. Secondly, the greens were trashed! Freshly cut ball marks, spike marks everywhere near the holes from people who apparently don't care about the condition they leave behind on a green.
Pace? I saw two rangers out there. Neither of whom could speed up the 4-some two groups in front of us from their 'US-Open' pace of play. We ended up joining the group in front of us but still played #18 in the dark. And we teed off at 2:00pm!!! Spacing tee times 10 minutes apart means nothing if rangers can't keep the players moving.
The Quarry is a beautiful track, very challeging, picutresque and unique for the area. But for the money we paid for an excruciatingly SLOW round and putting on trashed greens, returning to play again is probably out of the question.
Excavating the Quarry
The Quarry is a very nice golf course. Carts have GPS and you can view hole flyovers. The greens are very well maintained although they did not seem to have drained well, especially on the lower front nine. Several views are quite spectacular. A number of holes, especially on the back nine require some local knowledge because of blind shots. Most of the Par 5s feel like target golf (shorter initial shots to particular areas).
The course is not the hardest in the area. The layout does not feel distinctive which was a bit disappointing. Still it is worth playing at least once.
Some staffers are useless, course is nice layout, does not drain well.
Some of the younger staff members are not trained in customer service. The course is a very nice layout / design, but does not drain well thus understand that if it has rained in the days before you play the course will be soft, uncut, un-raked. Good food at the grill, nice club house.
The layout does not feel distinctive?
How many incredible holes do you need?
Simultaneous elevation and directional changes. Risk/reward all over the course, beauty, scenic views, strategic design and bunkering. Virtually every hole has a different feel. There is only one ordinary hole on the entire course (#9). I'm not sure what you are looking for.....
