The Quarry - Review Update

Well….

For those that think the Quarry is in bad shape from reviews or friends here-say, they are completely wrong.

They have hired the original superintendent back and they are working hard to make the course great! There are lots of drainage improvements in progress.

The rains that have hit this area yesterday and the day before made it wet in a a few spots that they were already working on. The greens were soft from the recent rain and slow from not being cut today, because the equipment would tear up the greens. They are starting to work on some of the greens now. I’d give the course a 8 out 10 today with the current conditions, but could see it as 9.5 or better out of 10 when things return to normal. Today was a great value and I’m glad I made the 1.5 hr drive to play it!

I will return again soon, but expect the greens to be faster unless it poured the day and night before.

I suggest that others give it another chance too or ask a reliable source that has recently played there rather than old or inaccurate reviews.

The course was in very good shape from tee boxes, fairway and greens. The layout was challenging and fair. The GPS and yardage book were a big help for first time golfer. Be sure to enjoy the view from the 17th tee, and the 19th patio.

Very nice layout the course is not easy but I liked the challenge. I would advise to bring some extra golf balls.

One of my favorite public courses in the area. Well maintained and pace of play is as good as a public course can be.

The Quarry is a bit off the beat and path however well worth the trip. The Club house and the pro-shop are very nice. The course layout is different than any in the area. It is challenging yet fun. The staff is great.

Make the drive, you will be glad you did.

Greens were atrocious and course looks nothing like it used to as far as fairways and greens! This used to be one of my favorite courses but after this trip there I don’t think I will be going back at all! The layout is great and the cart girl was fantastic but unfortunately the course has gone way down hill!

Everything about the Quarry was nice. The staff was sincere and friendly. The facility would rival any mid level country club. The lay out of the course is spectacular. It is nature and golf at its best. It has five sets of tees for all level of players. It's just a nice place to visit. The course is challenging however we all left with smiles on our faces, happy we braved the 46 degree temps for a fun round of golf.

Championship style layout. Terrible ground conditions. Putting on carpet would have been better than putting on the greens at the Quarry. Only 5 cars in the parking lot when I got there at 9am…. Honestly not surprised.

Great course, the Greens need help desperately, please help the Greens.

I’ve been playing at this course for years this is the worst I have ever seen this course. The greens had dead spots all over and were borderline unplayable fairways and rough had an abundance of spots with fungus and areas with no grass at all. If this is how the course will be in the future I don’t see how it can stay open.

We played this course with no leaves on the trees, of which, I am sure that the leaves are going to change your shot selection on many of the holes! The elevation changes from the tee box and fairway were awesome, if you like that kind of challenge. On this particular Saturday, it was a little windy, which made a few of the holes very challenging, as if the drop offs or trees on either side of the Fairway were not enough, the bunkers seem to be in some troublesome spots too. I can't wait to see this when the trees are full of leaves; it will be well worth the 3 hour ride from Southwestern Ohio area.

Always look forward to playing the Quarry! My group was very satisfied and happy we made the trip!
