The Green's need some work and the fairways are pretty ruff

another course that money needs to be put into the course.fairways are poor overrun with weeds,greens are spotty but playable.this course i would tell to stay away until conditions improved but for the price and the design of front nine make this a place you need to try.back nine is more links style and ok but not as challenging as the front.not too busy so getting out is not a problem.just wish two older guys in front of me on back nine would be considerate and let faster players to get through and not take forever to get off the greens

The lay out through the swamps is interesting. However, there has been little attention to the care of fairways, greens, sand traps and greens. Very
poor maintenance of the course. The low cost
invites the play. Would only play again for the practice not for the score.

With courses dropping Golf Now in central Florida and wanting to play on the spur of the moment this course worked for me and the price was great,$10. It needs lots of work, but some of the greens are being over seeded but surprisingly, and I was only in one, the bunkers were pretty good. fairways were being cut and overall optimism by the people working there this course might get better in the coming months. The whole area in central Florida needs rain and that would help. I will go back again just to see what is going on.

If your looking for this course to give you any help your wrong lol......the fairways are all weeds no friendly roll at all lol....you don't know if your in Ireland with deep bunkers and valley fairways or..in the deep woods with log cabin and Amazon jungle style hole...you will see what I mean lol.....if you play here wait till you get a real good deal like 10$...wouldn't pay more than that for this course in my opinion....if you get that kind of deal....then yes play it ...

The greens are in rough shape. Really bumpy and spoty. The front nine has the water, the back is pretty open. Fairways are not distiqushable from the rough, but for less than a dollar a hole.....what do you eect? I'll probably play here again since I play the cheap courses and travel around the state.

The one day that none of us three putted,as we only took two because you couldn't putt on those greens.
We really couldn't imagine people playing that course more than once ?

This course was great for the money. The front nine had water holes the back nine didn't.

The fairways and greens were in pretty rough shape. But the weather was nice, the folks were nice, and after all, every game and course is different. I would recommend Shady Brook to a friend based on its low cost and challenges, not for the quality of the fairways and greens.

You can find more grass in a hippy's beard than you can find on the fairways and greens at Shady Brook. That being said, this is one of the most interesting golf courses I've ever played. Approaching the tee box on the 5th hole, a short par 3, surrounded and shaded by mossy trees and a green guarded by an algae covered swamp, I had the distinct feeling of being transported to a jungle in the Amazon like an episode out of the Twilight Zone.
If the front nine is a short, tight, muddy jungle the back nine is long and struggles to be a normal golf course. If it wasn't for the trees guarding the center of fairways it would probably achieve that lofty goal
Shady Brook is not a course for golf purests as much as for golf adverturers. The entertainment value is worth the green fees.

Very bad maintenance. No fairways at all. All rough! Will not play here again.

The course was in poor shape, especially the greens. It was difficult to putt because of the bare spots and bumps.

The course needs commitment to plant grass and maintain it. Greens were in sad shape. Enjoyed the scenery, wildlife and history of the area. It didn't seem to have an irrigation system.

Course needs to make a commitment to grow and encouraging grass. Appreciated the yard markers situated on fairway mounts. Course has some interesting aspects, however, fairway and greens grass is needed. Great wild life and history.

The course was in winter condition but was ok playable. The greens were fast but rough. Hole directions left a little bit to be desired, especially for newcomers. I would play this course again.

Shady Brook is an excellent golf course. The course is well kept and the natural areas are awesome. the staff is willing to help and very outgoing. We will be back!

Long course. Fairly open but some tree troubles on most holes.

greens and fairways are lacking vegetation, but as any course you still have to hit the ball and play to conditions.

I had played here a couple years ago and the course was better than this time. The greens needed a lot of attention this time. Some had a lot of bare spots that affected play

My friends and I were attracted by the low price and after the first two holes we just figured you get what you pay for. The course is sort of a cow pasture when it comes to maintenance but the layout is fantastic. Holes 3,4 & 5 play through a marsh area and the rest of the front nine makes very good use of trees and terrain features. The back nine has a links style feel to it and the closing holes are awesome. This is one of the best kept secrets in Central Florida. We'll be back.
