Good changes
Just played for first time in 2 years. Started playing it in the year 2000 as part of our country club time share experience. Must say the new changes make the course friendlier to the resort golfer. Off season the course gets very little play so your not pressured on the pace of play. Will be back next week with friends.
Great course especially for the price
GPS doesn’t work on the back 9 since storm
Will play again
Lots of potential
Golf experience was just OK. Compared to other Country Club Golf experiences this one was lacking. Lots of potential however! Maybe it is just me but I expected a whole lot more. The facilities are small, the practice area was good BUT no putting green at the time of this writing. I probably won’t play this course again as there so many more choices in the area.
Ok for the price
Got a hot deal rate. After taxes and fees about $60... considering all the overpriced golf in Cabo that’s a good deal. It’s the only way I would play this course.. slow rough greens. Course not watered enough - dry. But consistent. Practice green being worked on - not usable. Driving range hitting off of mats.
Challenging layout but fair
Layout was challenging but very fair. Wind added to challenge. Definitely play it again.
Needs a little work
Due to last year's hurricane they are still repairing damages. Greens were nice but very slow. Will play ahain
Recovered beautifully from flood damaged
Re-design of the back nine following the damage done from the floods has made the course much more playable Great jo!
Decent condition
Nothing spectacular here but the course was in decent condition. Greens a bit slow but in good shape (except practice green). Back 9 is new so update your GPS....! Good for everyone....fairly forgiving....!
Challenging course.
It was my first time playing the course. I enjoyed the layout very much. The Marshall was very friendly.
Worth it
Not the cheaper course, but is in shape. Long fairways, some with lands end Arc views, several lakes, there was a beverage car arrounf all the time, with cold towells.
A big improvement from my 2012 visit
Since my cart tour of Cabo San Lucas Country Club in 2012, the club has made some solid strides. The new water treatment system is up and running, two new holes have replaced less enticing holes along the road and the new restaurant/bar built next to the pro shop looks great. Condition-wise, the course is a step down from all the high-end golf in Cabo. That saves the locals and tourists who love the place lots of dough. It's a stern test of 6,581 yards from the white tees. I suggest stepping up to the 6,186-yard gold tees to have more fun. The new par-4 holes - no. 10 and 11 - by Californian David Fleming don't look anything like the rest of the course. Fleming shaped massive humps and bunkers in the fairways and built ginormous greens. The back nine views from there look out at cruise ships docked in the bay. Five of the final six holes feature water, so don't get too distracted.
Cabo San Lucas CC a tough test at a value
When I visited the course in June of 2012, Director of Golf Eric Grindereng gave me the amazingly bad-luck back story of the club.
Original architect Roy Dye -- Pete Dye's brother -- passed away during construction, forcing his son, Matthew, to finish the 7,220-yard golf course, which opened in 1995.
Financial woes have plagued several owners of the course, forcing several name changes. In 2001, flooding from Hurricane Juliette took out six of the holes on the back nine.
Grindereng indicated a new owner had the club poised for a rebirth. A recently completed multi-million-dollar water treatment facility launched plans to update the irrigation system.
Nine lakes and small greens make this one of the toughest tests in Los Cabos. The view of the famous Arch at Land's End remains the property's major selling point. It's a beautiful spot, and solid routing, when somebody looks after it.
The conditioning was very poor on my visit, especially compared to the other premier resort courses I played, Cabo Real, Puerto Los Cabos, etc. I was told this is a "working man's" course where locals play.
Course appears to be undergoing extensive renovation.
The course recently changed hands and seemed rather disorganized. Staff was friendly and the course itself was in good condition. If they can keep the green fees below typical "Mexico-astronomical" it will continue to be a pleasure to play and a good value.
Good golf course, view of Cabo San Lucas Arch.
Worth the price for afternoon tee time. Weather very hot.
Beautiful course with fantastic views of cabo san lucas.
This course was in fair shape. They were working on a couple of holes for improvement. Overall, it was a beautfiful course, however, making tee times direct, I don't believe it is worth the value. Using golfnow.com, we were able to secure $44.00 US, which was a good value for this course. I don't believe it is worth the $85 (afternoon) rate the club was trying to charge. Golfnow.com made it a decent value for the $>
Think hard before you buy.
The employees were all very nice but the course was not very pleasant. All of the lakes are filled with reclaimed water and the place smells terrible. I know that is normal practice but it was really bad. Pay the extra $40.00 and play at a place where you will enjoy the day more.
OK
It is very near downtown Cabo San Lucas (entrance is next to the Sam's Club), but hard to find due to a lot of road construction. The greens had been punched and top-dressed very recently, so were very slow. Overall, a fair test and good warm up for better courses like the Ocean course at Cabo del Sol.
Long and forgiving
Longer than expected. Fairways were forgiving. Course was in decent shape.Greens probably could have rolled better, but a very fun round of golf. Good tune up for a tighter course.
