Palmilla Golf Club - The Mountain/Ocean Course
About
The One&Only Palmilla Golf Club boasts a 27-hole layout that is divided into three scenic nines: Mountain, Ocean, and Arroyo. Named after the defining features of their landscape, the nines are played in different 18-hole combinations. Jack Nicklaus designed all 27 holes, giving each a unique character but the same level of challenge. The Mountain/Ocean combination starts out with dramatic elevations. Expect some uneven lies and the occasional blind shot. The front nine offers a diverse mix of holes of varying lengths that all feature plenty of water and sand. The fifth hole is a memorable par 4 that plays over not one but two deep canyons to a green fronted by a deep bunker. On the back nine, the Ocean Course, golfers can enjoy a different view of the Sea of Cortez on every

The ocean nine might be the most scenic of the three loops at Palmilla. Photo submitted by JasonDeeganGA on 02/12/2014
Very good, but expensive
As is true for most all golf in Cabo, IT IS EXPENSIVE! Palmilla is a great desert golf course. Try to include the ocean 9 into your round, spectacular!
Course with some great views
We played the Ocean/ Arroyo combo. It wasn't too busy. Especially on the second 9 we were pretty much on our own. The Ocean 9 had some stunning views.
Very good course
Palmilla is a very well maintained course with numerous challenges yet it plays very fairly and is a good value in Los Cabos. We had a bit of a mixup wherein our tee time we booked on Golf Now was not valid on their system and pushed our tee time back about 40 minutes.
We did not have the booking receipt so we accepted this fate and had lunch and some extra practice. After the round a quick discussion with the manager and a follow-up email, our entire fee was refunded which we thought very generous.
Troon golf shows their class and that they care about their customers. We will make sure we play Troon golf courses in the future when that option is available.
Great Ocean Views
This is one of the nicest courses I played on this trip.
Greens are very fast and takes some getting use to. Course is in excellent condition
Wonderfull course
It's really good course, amazing view. a little bit challenging, and well maintained. I like to play again here.
Golf in Cabo, what problem could there be?
Just a wonderful day of golf. Played the Mountain & Ocean Courses (9 holes each). I am a High handicapper, but the course is laid out nicely for all handicaps. Bottom line is: You're golfing, so who really cares. Highly reccommended.
Great views, nice course.
The only drawback to the course is the price. Shopping around on Golf Now and taking a very early tee time made it an ok deal. Course is well maintained and fair.
Palmilla - still one of the stars of Cabo
I've played Palmilla a couple times over the years (the most recent in 2012) and it never disappoints. This was the first foray of Jack Nicklaus into Los Cabos way back in 1992 and still one of the destination's best golf experiences.
Troon Golf runs the 27-hole club with the same level of service and standards of the famed One&Only Palmilla across the street. The mountain nine's fifth hole, a treacherous canyon-hopping par 4, might be the most difficult hole in Los Cabos. The Ocean nine, added in 2007, drops 600 feet in elevation during the first six holes with the third green perched on the beach. My favorite loop is the Ocean-Mountain nine, although any combination is a good one.
This course was great for everyone!
We played the Ocean and Arroyo courses and it was awesome! Great conditions, scenery and a variety of challenges. Will play it again when we come back!
Wonderful Day of Golf
I've played several course in Cabo including Cabo de Sol as well as Cabo Real. Palmilla for the money value is tops in the area. I would highly recommend. The Mountain course is challenging, yet fun. The Ocean Course was fairly easy with beautiful scenary.
The course was in Excellent Shape...
VERY ENJOYABLE ROUND OF GOLF. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Great time
I paid a little extra to play this course based on a hotel recommendation and was not disappointed! Well worth the $150 for twilight golf including club rental. Course plays very fair with front tees available for high handicappers and back tees with lots of forced carries for low handicappers. The holes on the ocean course are amazing with one green right on the sandy beach with amazing views. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a round to remember.
Course is overwhelmed by cowboys
I played this course on Monday,, well sorry I played 9 holes on Monday because there was a 6 ball on front of us that where extremely rude and uncooperative. It took us 3 hours to play the front nine and these guys held us up because they where drunk and had no repect for the people behind them. I went into the pro shop at the 9rh hole and the manager said he had talked to the guys to move on and to be more pleasant and respect the other player but he said they where the owners friend and there was nothing he could do. He did tell me to come back any other day and I could play again, but this is not much good as its a $70 taxi to the place and plus I'm not sure my partner would be best pleased if I went golfing again. Anyways all and all the views are great and the fairways aren't bad, but be prepared that he greens are in bad condition I guess they must have spikes them. Overall the course is over prices and shabby. I would strongly recommend to try another course.
Good shape. Ocean Views. Challenging but fair.
Played Ocean and Arroyo courses. Couple of very difficult par 4s on Ocean course but otherwise very fair but challenging. In great shape. Great scenery. Better than Club Compestre from scenery standpoint.
Nicest course I've played in Mexico
Very nice with pleasant staff. Beware of numerous fairway bunkers. Enjoy!
When I put my reservation online. You asked for my credit card info. For some reason, my credit card number got stolen.
So please check the security of your web site! It's very important for customer.
Ocean / Desert golf
Greens were just sanded so it would have been nice to know this before. A few water holes and lots of desert if you miss a tee shot. Nice homes around course but enough nature to make it interesting. Will come back again.
Beautiful Views, Fast Greens, but hold well
The staff is very friendly, and the course is in great shape. The pace of play is great, and there are some fabulous views from holes on all three 9's (the Ocean course being some of the best).
Nice course - but a bit expensive
Need to add a few mod cons like the other courses around the area. Eg. GPS tracking in golf buggies.
Expensive compared to what the other courses offer in the area.
Beautiful course!! Staff first class.
This golf course is beautiful and in tip top shape. The views are breath taking. We played the Ocean and Arroyo courses. The staff was first class.
