Cabo Real Definitely a "Must Play" Golf Course
Great Experience from the minute we arrived! Every Staff Member was above & beyond courteous & helpful to ensure we enjoyed our round. The course is a great layout in absolutely perfect condition. Spectacular Views and love the fact, that being what i consider myself as an average Senior Player, Cabo Real is Challenging, but not intimidating. And enjoyed fantastic day. I highly recommend playing here. Without a doubt look forward to play here again on my next trip!

Top Public Course in Cabo
Cabo San Lucas and San Jose Del Cabo have many courses available to the public (e.g., Cabo Real, Puerto Los Cabos, Palmilla, Cabo Del Sol Desert course) but I would rate Cabo Real as the best. The course has beautiful views of the ocean and the mountains. Moreover, there are very few homes on the course (none on the back nine). (Note, you cannot play Quivera unless you are an owner or guest at Pueblo Bonito or Monte Cristo properties; similarly, you cannot play Diamante and its two courses unless you are an owner or guest.) It is also very convenient, about half way between Cabo and San Jose.
A couple of other notes: Cabo Real has a nice practice area for warming up! It is on the Sea of Cortez and, consequently, is not windy like the courses on the Pacific.
It does not have the comfort stations of Puerto Los Cabos, but it does it does offer great food at its grill. The staff are friendly and courteous.
While Cabo Real and Puertos Los Cabos are both terrific courses, I would give the edge to Cabo Real (but if you're in Cabo, I would play them both)!
Cabo Real
Second time playing, the blind holes were not a surprise this time. Worth playing more than once. In 1 week the greens were much improved from past aeration.
Dry but fun
Apparently they’re having water issues on the back because of a pump problem and waiting on parts- back 9 very, verrrry dry! But greens are good and nice speed and front was in pretty good shape. I play to a 6, my wife 11 and we both scored really well and had fun with both of us liking the layout.
Pleasant Vacation Golf
A nice course with interesting holes which are not too penal. My only complaint is that the whole course is Bermuda grass which was going dormant. (1st of November). Made for very tight lies and grainy greens, not what I’m accustomed to. Less expensive and more playable than some of the higher rated competition.
Cabo Real
Overall great layout and very scenic. First time playing can be difficult with a few unknown consequence’s (ie number 10 hole). Greens were a little slow, looked like still recovering from punching. I would play again.
Very good value
Good course but a few tricky places that a one time player would never see, no reason for that on a resort course. Second and third time would be much more enjoyable.
Experience
Course is a very nice layout, staff is super helpful and friendly, tee times were on time, pace of play was approx 4 hours and 10 minutes and cart lady is friendly and very visible. Downside is that course is need of some serious maintance, tee boxes are bare, bunkers are rocks, greens are bumpy and need attention. Would I go back, yes for $99
Greens were awful!
Worst condition Of all the courses I have played in Cabo!!
Amazing!!
I am still in awe of this course. Incredible views and location. The staff were so nice and amazing. Even if you have to rent clubs, do not miss playing here.
Fantastic Golf Course
Fantastic course with exceptional views and varied scenery with ocean, mountain, desert. Well maintained and clearly staff take pride in the course. Only challenge was sand on greens due to aeration. Food/beverage and course staff friendly and accomodating.
Beautiful!! But disappointing
I’ll star my review by saying this is absolutely the most beautiful course I’ve ever played! Excellent views on every tee box, lots of elevation change, beautiful foliage. But unfortunately the good stops here.
Kicking off the bad when we checked in the desk clerk informed us the greens were plugged and sanded “yesterday”. It’s very disappointing to pay so much per player on a course that you basically can’t putt on. Honestly the course should have been closed, or partial refund should have been given. Fairways were in decent shape, but not like the pictures. I can forgive some dry rough, but we didn’t see the green as expected. Lastly, the cart was very nice and premium, but the touted ‘GPS System’ would shut itself off every 5 minutes and wouldn’t even allow us to get through a full hole with any useful information.
Everyone was friendly, I just left mostly dissatisfied with the amount of money I paid, and the experience overall of the course condition. It’s not every day my wife and I get to play golf in Cabo, wish it would have been perfect! Or at least good.
Simply amazing! BREATH TAKING GOLF
Honestly, we came the first week of September and we’re told most of the trip would be ruined due to hurricanes off the coastlines, rain, etc.
We had a tee time at 11:30a and showed up at the course like crazy people still ready to play.
At first we started out hoping for at least 9 holes. We blew through pretty quick until we got to hole 5. On hole 5 (one of the most beautiful holes I’ve ever seen and goes to the beach) we started catching rain so we hid under the bridge for about 15 mins.
Hole 3 be prepared to take your camera with you to the tee box (if playing gold and black tees).
Hole 5 have your camera/buddy film!
The back 9 has some picturesque holes as well. Honestly one of the most fun rounds of gold despite the weather. Using the GPS on the golf carts there’s several holes you can cut corners on shot wise and then some dead straight
Greens roll good maybe 10/11 for how wet it was. I can only imagine dry/summer. Fairways and tees boxes were prestige as well.
I will definitely be coming back to Cabo real and bringing everyone with me!
