Riviera Cancun Golf & Resorts
About
The Riviera Cancun Golf Club is the most recent addition to Cancun. Jack Nicklaus has done remarkable job carving this gem using the natural contours of the terrain, this course boasts strategic bunkering, immaculate greens, wooden bridges and the peaceful tranquility of the natural reserve that surrounds the course. Golfers will also enjoy the ocean views on holes 14 and 15.
The spectacular Mexican-Contemporary Club house greets guests before they begin their journey over bridges, through the dunes, mangroves and lakes which are only some of the elements which make this course visually stunning. The resort is 100% Mexican owned and is located in the Hotel Zone and only 5 minutes from the airport.

Great facility
Overall great facility, grat condition and tight fairways
Croc Alert
Great course layout with some very challenging holes.
Too much rain compromised playing conditions. Never played a course with crocodile alert signs on almost every hole. All inclusive feature made this the best value in Cancun.
Wow, loved it
This was my 1st time using this site, and will use from now on, i paid 67 us $ for a round , when the rate should have been 200$ .
Included buggy, drink ( lots water) lunch in lovely club house after. And the course was superb.
Very receptive greens, albeit a little slower than used to, but very true.
The fairways where like a carpet
Just keep it in play and a good score os possible, left or right and danger awaits.
Best Experience in Cancun
Can't say enough about this course. Had Luiz as our starter, treatment was out of this world! Course is a great track, fun and challenging at the same time! Played 4 courses on our trip, would have played this one again in a heartbeat! Will visit again for sure! Food service was unbelievable, best value in Cancun!
Excellent Value for Golf Near Airport
This course is only 20-30 minutes from most hotels in Cancun - it's right by the airport. We took a taxi for $20. We really didn't see anybody else on the course or in the clubs house, but there were a few other groups there. Definitely not busy. Everything -food, drink, beer, etc was included and the on-course beverage cart was on point every couple of holes. Lush vegetation, nicely designed and maintained course - one hole near the ocean. There's a prevailing wind and the course plays tough - tight fairways which tend to slope towards trouble - (desert, jungle, water). Mid-high hcp should bring lots of balls from home. It's easy to forget if you are renting, and balls run $5-7 each in the proshop. Overall, it felt exclusive and the service was attentive and excellent. We enjoyed it so much we came back the next day we came back with a foursome and had the same great experience.
Difficult course
Went to TPC Cancun to play but course was closed for 2 weeks yet they had tee times at Golfnow - unbelievable!! Went to Riviera cause it was nearby without any reso. We saw at Golfnow that Riviera had bunch of tee times. Golfnow rate $120 but couldn't give us that rate. Rack rate was $16o. We had to book online with Golfnow sitting in lobby. Course also had aeration but wasn't announced at Gokfnow. Rate includes drinks and food but only saw the guy with cooler twice - no bev cart. Driving range was ok and practice green ok. Course rating high 136 from white. Course is long but fairways wide if you dont hook or slice. Couple hoke had crews working on them but in general fairways were awesome.cart path rough so drive slow. Greens were punched but it could be great otherwise. Decent course but long and not forgiving if your a big slicer or hooker.
Course
Greate golf course I'll recommended this for a vacation
I would certainly come back!
This was my first time to golf outside of the USA and was a bit leary. Riveria Cancun Country Club was great. The service and food was really good. A really good value for the GolfNow price of $129 ( I think). The course was in very good shape, difficult, but in great shape. I would certianly play there again. I only wished it was in my backyard ;-)
Great course, staff, and service!!
Challenging but fun course. Yardage book included. Tough green make scoring low difficult.
Stay on the fairway
Great golf course. But you have to drive straight, if your ball goes off the fairway your in the swamp.
beautiful layout
having played twice in Cancun this past week, Riviera Cancun by far was the greatest. conditions, layout, and hospitality were tremendous. If only my game could have matched!
Difficult but fun course
If the wind is up. this course is very difficult. It you cannot shape your shape or if you cannot hit it reasonably straight, but balls at the golf shop before you go on the course. My playing partner went through more than one dozen on the front nine. Greens were a little hairy but all in all this was a fun day.
This course is a must for your golfing trip to Cancun
All the previous reviews we read before playing were so true; definitely pack (lots) extra balls. It was extremely windy (great to keep cool but not so great for the game :-)). Watch out for the birds; see the pic: it enjoying MY potato chips. The course is in pristine condition (greens a little slow).
The staff in one word - Amazing. They spoilt us with lots of food and drinks (included). They went out of their way to accommodate our requests.
Even the other golfers we met were so friendly.
Very interesting and fun to play.
Beautiful well-maintained course. Lots of sand and challenging greens. If you don't have decent carry off the tee then you should play the forward tees - mangroves are ball hungry and the crocs (only saw one) discourage looking for errant balls. Greens are a bit slow but true. There's not much scenery beyond the mangroves but the views on the course are beautiful, lots of wildlife (watch your food). Rental clubs are decent Calloway DIablo. Transportation provided is a nice touch but difficult to find a direct number .
Excellent Value in Cancun
This was not my first time at Riviera, and once again the staff was great, course condition good, and with the winds made the course very difficult. I strongtly recommend the Riviera vs TPC Cancun.
It is a narrow, challenging course, the only downfall of this course is that it is build in the swamp lands, and is very prone to flooding, therefor if there has been a few days of rain before you play, make sure the course is completely open ( played a few years ago - 3 holes closed to rain damage or flooding )
Good value for the price I paid ( transportation - food and drinks were included )
Enjoy and bring a few extra balls ....
Great but challenging.
Brand new Callaway Razr Blacks full sets men and women rental clubs. This was awesome compared to other places. They had cheap used golf balls and I'd suggest buying some. Course is really hard. We never saw the alligators but they are there so beware. Club house and locker rooms are amazing. Food and drinks are all included.
Golf Now is tops in my book !!!
It was great to be able to book this course at a great rate before I left for my vacation. Everything went smooth !
Great day!
Great course, challenges on every hole. A little beyond my ability but not discouraging.
Bring extra balls
You have two options on this course:
1) Hit fairways
2) Lose golf balls
---There is no in between---
Very nice course
Very well maintained, friendly staff, great views. A must for cancun
GMan, bring your own if you can. It gets VERY expensive to rent, especially if you're planing to play more than once. If airline checked bag fee is $25 US each way, it's cheaper than renting. United & American count golf clubs as regular checked bag price, not oversized...only good thing about the airlines! And if you get one free bag per person (status or you carry an airline branded credit card), use that for your clubs!
At least bring your own shoes, glove, and plenty of golf balls, bug spray, and suntan lotion.
Keep it in the fairway,
SeaBass
Hello,
I'm traveling to Cancun next week and wanted to ask if you brought your own clubs or rented from the course. What is recommended?...
Thanks
