Riviera Cancun Golf & Resorts
About
The Riviera Cancun Golf Club is the most recent addition to Cancun. Jack Nicklaus has done remarkable job carving this gem using the natural contours of the terrain, this course boasts strategic bunkering, immaculate greens, wooden bridges and the peaceful tranquility of the natural reserve that surrounds the course. Golfers will also enjoy the ocean views on holes 14 and 15.
The spectacular Mexican-Contemporary Club house greets guests before they begin their journey over bridges, through the dunes, mangroves and lakes which are only some of the elements which make this course visually stunning. The resort is 100% Mexican owned and is located in the Hotel Zone and only 5 minutes from the airport.

Great Course
Great course, greens in incredible shape. Only a few good ocean views, which is unfortunate considering its on the ocean. There is a lot of wildlife about which is interesting. Overall, it's the nicest course I've played, would definitely go again. Rental clubs are Callaway Diablos in okay shape for $50, driving range and transport from your hotel included.
Very Nice Course
The driver failed to pick me up for the included transportation, the folks at the club house were not very friendly, and the beverage service was very poor. The starter was great and sent me off the back because i was by myself. The course itself is very nice . Not as challenging as some of Jack's layouts but still a challenge.
Challenging and beautiful.
Great course from Tee to green. One of the most fabulous Club Houses I have been in with great staff. However, watch your food & drink as the Birds & Kotomondi's will take it all.
Only real issue is it was hard to find as there were no signs so leave time to get there.
Maybe I am spoiled, but I was very disappointed in this facility.
The course was very green, and there was good conditions on the parts of the course that really mattered, but all the little things were missed. From the terrible golf balls on the range, to the trash all around, to the broken tiles in the horribly smelling bathrooms, this course was average at best. The greens were extremely slow, and the staff (other than the bartender) were also average at best. My wife and I were very disappointed!
Beautiful, Majestic, Great value...
Jack did it again, only complaints is that previous ocean holes have been blocked out by growing trees, and jungle growing over the past 10 years. Greenpeace has considered it "untouchable" but still an incredible experience. Greens a touch slow but still amazing sights and wildlife around the course...
Excellent golfing at an excellent price
We had two great rounds here. The course is in amazing shape, the service is fabulous and the pin placements proved to be challenging also. I would recommend this course for sure.
Great Course to play on
We were very pleased with staffs, from trasportation to pro-shop and starters.
Everyone very friendly and accommodating. Course was in pristine condition. Back 9 definitely more challenging with mangrove and narrower fairways, We had a great time. Course is challenging but not overly difficult for average players.
Quite enjoyable
Good rounding on Wed. afternoon. Nobody out of pace keep in good pace and fairway well maintained. Only point I feel unhappy was a green quite was a slower than it looked. It should have been trimmed more often. Burger and hot dog we tried was quite a quality and big. I rate this course overall 9/10.
You want to play here
Transportation is included. 1 hour away from where we were staying. Always tip the driver min $5. One of the best I ever played. Talk about beautiful, WOW! I could play here everyday and never get bored. Incredible lay out and perfect conditions. Always book with Golfnow to get the best rates. My father in law said it was the best golf course he ever seen. He wants to buy a house here. Whenever I am in Mexico, I will come here to golf.
Terrific experience
Played the course Dec. 26/12 as a single on a twilight rate of $80. Very little traffic on the course, played in just under 3 hours. Driving range was pristine. Tee boxes and greens in fantastic shape. Fairways were firm but in great shape. A couple of bunkers with sand that wasn't very deep but not too bad. Fairways reasonably wide and greens on the moderate to difficult end with lots of swales, undulations, etc. Overall a great experience. Would highly recommend it to anyone.
Beautiful course with tons of water and two resident alligators
Very helpful with transportation to and from the golf course, which is helpful as it is located quite a ways out of town.
Bartender was very friendly.
Course was in good shape with lots of water hazards on most holes. Only saw one of the two alligators, but this 5 foot guy was sitting right in front of the green on hole # 17 (might have been 16)
Emaculately groomed fairways and greens. Expect to donate a few balls to the marsh.
Tough challenge with many of the fairways lined with trees, marsh, or water allowing little room for error. Everything is pristine. Large clubhouse, new golf carts, fairways are mowed really short. The greens are not all that fast, but they have lots of undulation to them, both severe and slight. Having transportation included was a nice benefit. I brought my clubs so cannot comment on the condition or cost of rentals and balls. I am shocked that golf is not popular here. This was my second round and both courses were empty.
Very nice course
Rivière Cancun is a very nice course but difficult to research online. The course web site doesn't provide much info but I was not disappointed. I played as a single, 2 weeks before most spring breaks, so the pace of play was excellent. The list price is ridiculous, but I played for $88 and it was worth every penny. Rental clubs were good quality. Range balls were scarce but sufficient to warm up. My package included transportation to and from the course plus food. It was unclear how to arrange transportation but my hotel was able to contact the course and make arrangements. The food in the club house was good but limited from the snack cart. Level of difficulty was appropriate for a resort course with few demanding carries and wide fare ways. Overall a very enjoyable experience.
