Reevaluate pricing
I play this course frequently. I know they’re working on course conditions and understand why they’re doing what they’re doing with cart path only. The problem is they continue to charge full price with the course in condition that it is. This specific round they had also punched the greens a couple of days before. So on top of cart path only, the course being overgrown, the greens were also super sandy. They still charged full price. It’s no wonder there are so many tee times available. Would be acceptable if they discounted accordingly
USOpen Roigh
The course needs a few more weeks to get the fairways back in shape. Pace of play is about 30 minutes longer than usual due to extra long rough lining all fairways and around the greens. Most of the delays are due to trying to find your ball just off the cut faurwsy as the balls disappear in the overly long rough. If I’m qualifying for the US open I get it but I just want to be able to find a ball I hit down the middle that bounced into the excessive rough!! Bunkers need a lot of better sand… not the dense sand (concrete) and stones that are now in them. Fun course when it’s in a lot better shape!!
Not what it used to be
Course conditions are awful currently. I don’t think there is a worse course in the area. Something happened to most of the fairways, they are completely dry. Greens are acceptable. The pace of play was terrible. We were back to back to back with two groups in front of us. Marshal drove by several times not sure that he cared to improve the PoP though. Finally, about half the holes are cart path only so you need to walk a lot. I probably wouldn’t have minded all of that if the course was half the price. We won’t be going back in a while. There are plenty of other much better options in the area.
Great Course - Bad Conditions
The Course is a Great Setup a real challenge , and the Greens were in very good shape, but you get what you pay for a friend of mine says and for 15.00 to play, the fairways, tee boxes and sand traps were in very bad shape borderline terrible, sad to say, but the staff were very friendly but the off course amenities another terrible service went to have a bite to eat at sunset grill waited 10 to 15 minutes and no one ever showed up to serve so I left and the restaurant wasn't even 25% full. another sad experience.
Beautiful Course Bad Conditions
This courae is a beautiful layout being my 1st time playing it was very challenging having many blind shots but very fun the good side was the greens are in very good condition except 1 hole a par 3, but the fairways, bunkers and tee boxes were terrible, since I had such a great deal to be able to play it, I couldn't passed it up. The staff was very friendly and attentive.
After I was done I want to get a bite to eat at the restaurant, but they were terrible in Customer Service, no one to recieve me when I walked though the doors, the bartender was nice enough to inform to sit were I like that a server would soon attend, THEY NEVER SHOWED UP the place being 3/4 empty, then when leaving the bartender apologiesd for my not being served, I said no problem, but its a go for me if ever in the area again.
not letting upload picture, so you can see for yourself.
Poor Conditions
The course has a broken water pump and the course is in terrible shape. However, they are still charging full price.
Rate of play is great, because no one is out there.
Cart path only on majority of the holes.
This Course is a Complete Mess
Cannot recommend this course to anyone, and the $86 in fees is abhorrent.
This Course is a Complete Mess
Don’t play here. The course is completely unkempt, and the $60 green fee, $20 cart fee, plus tax, is an insult to New Mexico golfers and embarrassing to the NM golf industry.
Progress is being made.
The sand bunkers need work. I realize the course I is in the process of upgrading now.The bunkers are mostly gravel and hardpan at this time and I am sure they will be taken care of in the work that is being done to upgrade. The new owners did take over the course that was in dis-repair.
Inconvenient GPS on Carts
Carts were locking up in locations you wouldn’t expect. Frustrating especially after a bad shot. Lol
On it's way bak
Fairways are growing bak in nicely, about 75% of what they once were. No doubt will resume it's place as one of NM finest public courses
